  1. It will only get worse, I am on here all day during work. I take breaks every hour or so and do a few minutes of work. Its horrible, but I can't seem to concentrate on anything else.
  2. I will have about 55 guests and will be doing a assigned seating. The main reason is family tension, we will have ex- and current spouses and people who plain dont' like each other. It is quite an exercise in logistics trying to keep these people separated, especially since we're having an open bar.
  3. OMG, that was great, I totally cried, what a great way to finish the season.

Could any past or future brides give me some advice? I do want a long length BM dress but I don't want my bridesmaids to pass out from the heat! LOL! Any advice you could give me would be great!!!! I tried it on myself and its pretty light, i think chiffon is great for the beach. David's Bridal - Bridesmaids, Dress Detail
  5. Welcome Melissa, there are a few other MP brides on here and we have a thread going http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21569, so feel free to ask questions. Happy planning!
  6. Thank you so much for the ideas, I really wanted to do both the bouquet and garter toss, but like many of you, will not have many single friends at the wedding. The idea of having all women and all men participate is great, I'm definitely going to do that.
  7. I keep seeing the commercials and I would love for my abs to look like that. My FI keeps making fun on me, because I'm so easily sold on stuff, but if this works, I think I'll buy one too.
  8. I can't wait, the previews look awesome. I told my FI that he can't talk to me tonight starting at 8 (I'm also an Ugly Betty fan). It better be good and Meredith and Derek better get back together. I love the tumor theory, I hope that's what happens.
  9. I found these beach bags at IKEA, they're only $1.49 a piece. They look like they're made of plastic, but still cute. They're not available online though: IKEA | Summer collection | Textiles | SOMMAR | Beach bag They also have beach mats for $3.99: IKEA | Summer collection | Textiles | SOMMAR | Beach mat They also have the cutest little candle holders, for those of you with fuschia and pink color schemes, these are so cute: IKEA | Candles & candle holders | Candle holders | GRÄNUM | Tealight holder
  10. I purchased my ceremony package and signed my contract in August. I booked my reception location in November. I didn't even know you had to wait until 3 months, I just emailed the Florida office and kept on them until they booked it, they never said anything.

In terms of rooms, are you doing a room block, if so where are your guests staying during your wedding? The hotel has a number of terraces outside and some ballrooms outside. I know the other terraces are smaller, but dont know how many people they fit. I will have about 55 guests, so the Lake Terrace is perfect for us. The picture is below: My FI's parents are members, so we got a block of rooms and booked through member services. We did not get a TA, because of that. We are staying on the Sunrise side, its quieter and that's where we usually stay. Tucan gazebo is on the Nizuc side and the Lake Terrace is in Sunrise. Member services promised to try to get us rooms together, we'll have about 20 rooms, as long as we are in the same building, I don't really care.
  12. I have been thinking about starting a thread like this for a while, just haven't gotten around to doing it. I'm getting married at the MP in 2 months, July 23. My FI and I have been to the MP twice and once to Aventura Palace. I would love to hear what the other girls are doing. We are having a ceremony at the Tucan gazebo at 4pm, followed by a private dinner buffet reception at the Lake Terrace at 6pm. We're using the resort photographer, the pictures I've seen are great and we're renting the DJ equipment and using our own laptop and CD's. Can't wait!
  13. I agree that the shoes seem a bit busy for the dress, but I have such a thing for bows. The shoes with the bows are so beautiful, so I voted for them.
  14. We're having a rehearsal cocktail party, just drinks and desserts by the pool. It will be more of a mix of a welcome and a rehearsal dinner (minus the dinner and the rehearsal). We're not doing programs, just little tags on our palm fans that say welcome to our wedding on one side and thank you for attending on the back. I love the idea of mixing traditions and my personal ideas, that's the great thing about a DW.
  15. Yeah, nothing screams class like the bride sitting on various guests' laps. I was uncomfortable just watching, can't imagine what the guests were thinking.

  17. Did i miss any mention of exercise, it seems crazy to lose that might weight without excercise. I totally agree she didn't look that big before. Her FI's step-father sounds like a real winner, what an @$$.

I'm going to get a second, cheaper dress for it. My dress cost a lot of $$ and I have to wear it again for the AHR. I know everyone said their dress didn't get ruined, but I can't take that chance. I'm SO excited!!!!! Can you PM me your price list when you get the information. I'm not sure if I have enough time to arrange this (2 months), but I would love to try. I was planning to do this when we got home. We have Lake Tahoe about an hour away, and it would be great to do it there, but it will not compare to Cancun and the ocean. Thanks.
  20. Your pictures are so beautiful and I love the song. You looked absolutely gorgeous.
  21. We bought this set last year for our Cancun trip and loved it, the bag is perfect for carrying the snorkel equipment, shoes, keys and other stuff, we just strap it across our back and snorkel with it on. We bought a set for everyone in our families for Xmas. Love these sets, here's the link to the one at Costco. Costco - U.S. Divers Adult Ultimate Travel Snorkeling Set

I was super nervous about this but I cannot tell you how awesome and great the photos turned out. They are posted somewhere on here. As for other vendors - what are you thinking about doing? We had an outside cocktail reception which the MP arranged everything - we chose from 3 different options which had tons of selections and we had our own private *free* bar during it too which had EVERYTHING you could think of! I didn't have any outside vendors and it went wonderful. They truly do anything you want and take care of every little detail! Betsy, thanks for that, I've been going back and forth on the photographer, I think I'll just save myself the trouble and stick the the hotel photog. I'm excited that you can have them do your reception now, I think I'll add a couple hours of reception time too. Your pictures were beautiful, the photog did a great job.
  23. We registered at honeymoonwishes.com for our wedding and that was all we were going to do, but we got so much flack from FI's side of the family being unable to buy us "things" we ended up registering at Bed Bath and Beyond too.
  24. Welcome Natasha, we've had so many new MP brides recently. I'm getting married at MP in July, so feel free to ask questions. Happy Planning!
