  1. We are in a similar situation in that we are getting married in Mexico with about only 40 people. We wanted our Engagement Party to be our at home party and invited everyone we would have invited to the wedding had we not had it in Mexico. Everyone was so happy to come. I totally think it is ok to invite more people to the Engagement Party if you are having a destination wedding with a limited amount of guests. Good luck!
  2. Yes, OTC does have them in today! I just ordered mine. Thanks for the heads up everyone that these are in such demand.

I also had communication problems beforehand, but once I was there both Zulma and Michaela were fabulous.... I really can't say enough about my wedding and time at the Royal (and I can be pretty picky!). I can't wait to share my review and pictures once I get back! CONGRATULATIONS! Have a fabulous honeymoon and all of your fellow Royal brides-to-be can't wait to hear from you upon your return.
  4. These are wonderful! I can definitely see why your guests like them so much!

Many thanks for any info you can share!
  6. Just wanted to let you all know that these bags are for the 'New Summer Dollar Spot' in many Targets. I live in NJ and the Target I called said they are setting up the new Dollar Spot display sometime this week. My mom found the bags in AL and said this is the SKU # 2342311128. She had the AL store look it up on the computer and said that the NJ stores are getting them. Hope this helps some of you to find these AMAZING bags. I really think they are too good to be true!
  7. These are amazing. Thanks SO much for posting. I left work as soon as i read the post and went to 2 Targets and.....nothing. I am so bummed out but have my FI and Mom on a mission at a few other Targets. I did get the flip flop magnetic notepads that were in the $1 section. I thought they were cute too!
  8. Amyh- Thanks SO much. That is it! I had seen the 1st pic (the one from the website) but seeing these bridal pictures really helps. I am doing the champagne color and doing a french side bustle which should give it that cha cha cha look! Thanks!
  9. Hi- I bought my dress this weekend with my mom and love it, but I don't have a good pic. I am wondering if any of you have worn the Pronovias Octobre and have a pic you would share. I'd love to look at it every day until I get mine in a few months!!! I found one pic on a website but it just doesn't do it justice. Any pics would be appreciated! Many thanks! Kay

  15. Antonia- Thank you so much for taking the time to write up the review. It is so helpful to those of us going through the planning stages. You looked so beautiful and your wedding and festivities looked like a dream. Congratulations and thank you! Katy

I felt like a STD may not have enough critical information for guests to feel comfortable booking. I used a travel agent and listed his contact information on the invitation (and put some info on our website). He has assisted our guests with the flights, hotel and transfers to and from the airport. As for the Royal and a room block, I put aside a bunch of rooms and had to sign a contract (with a deposit for each room). Then, once my guests book the rooms, I get my money back. For the rooms we don't use, I can cancel those up to 90 days before the wedding and get 100% back. My TA had a negotiated rate that he worked out with the Royal that was cheaper than booking online. However, just recently my fiances family in NY found an AA package with flight and hotel at the Royal for less than booking them separately so there may be alternatives. Good luck with your next steps! Let me know if you have anymore questions. Jen Thanks so much Jen. It's hard to know what to do. We just built a website too, to list all the details, etc. and have decided to still send a STD but omit a lot of the info and just reference the website. We will have a lot to talk about between now and November!

When we sent out our Save-The-Dates, we ordered magnets that we had custom made. We found a picture of a playa del carmen beach and had that as the background and our info was over it. We also made a website so that we could keep people informed about any updates that we had. Check it out kevinsarah.com - Home Hi Sarah- Thanks for the info. I checked out your website...looks awesome! I think it is so cool that you are doing a charter flight. How fun that will be to have everyone together. We went to a Travel Agent yesterday to get everything worked out for the guests are are trying to do a website too. Wish me luck! Thanks! Katy
  18. Hi everyone- It's confirmed that we are getting married at the Royal PDC on Nov. 21, 2008! We are so excited. Many thanks to all of you, especially Becky, for answering questions and sending information to help make our decision. Now the questions really start!! It's time to send STDs and get started with Invitations. My question is what is the best way to have guests make their reservations? I'd love for them to have one place to call to book the resort, airfare, and ground transport...maybe a travel agent? What did you find worked the best? Does the hotel secure a block of rooms for you and if so, how do I go about that? I read that some of you had guests contact the royal directly in order to get a confirmation number. Just wondering if you have any tips that made things run smoothly for your guests. One more thing, did you sign any initial contract or any paperwork to secure your date? Many many thanks! Katy

  20. Hi- I recently vacationed at Secrets Capri with my fiance. It was a fabulous vacation (especially for the price). It was a very quiet resort, with everything from the service to the food being top notch. Secrets Capri was highly recommended to us by two sets of friends who had previously vacationed there, and we were definitey not disapointed. The pool is lovely and the service for food and drink was excellent poolside as well as at the swim up bar. We found the clientale to be very classy and made many friends while on our trip. As it is adults only, it is mostly couples who are there for a relaxing trip. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from at dinner (Japanese, Italian, Seafood) and at lunch you can eat poolside or a semi casual restarant (loved it!). Also in the morning the breakfast buffet is amazing. I never thought I could love a buffet, but this is a definite exception. One night the resort set up a Mexican night around the pool (which was a huge production) and the food was excellent. One night they had live music on the beach which was great. This resort is geared toward relaxation and not night life, however there are a few things to do at night, but all and all it becomes pretty quiet at night. The beach was nice as well. I would check out TripAdvisor reviews if you have not already as they were so helpful to us. As you will read, you will need to get up early to claim a chair by the pool or beach, but I think this may be the case at many places. I would recommend Secrets Capri as a great honeymoon destination. We will definitely be back. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any specific questions. I hope your honeymoon is the best ever! Katy

All of your advice is much appreciated. Many thanks! Katy
  23. Hi everyone- I am in the beginning stages of planning an Oct./Nov. 2008 wedding. I have narrowed down the sites to the Royal and to the Paradisus Rivera Cancun. Did any of you choose between those two? Also, I'd love to contact the Royal to see what dates they have available in Oct./Nov. Can you please send me the best person and their contact information? Many many thanks and I can't wait to hear back from you. All of your posts have been so helpful already! Katy
