And did you make any changes to your name before receiving the actual license? Mine just got here this week actually and I got married Jan 22 so it takes a couple of months to get here. I could change things like bills and such but nothing from the government. My health card, license, bank info and passport all still have my old name.

They used new brushes for me and yes it was like getting your makeup done. They went very suttle with me cause I told them I don't normally wear much makeup. Sure did make my eyes stand out though. They did a great job!

Question about RIU Ocho Rios dress code
chicklet replied to BeachBrideBeth08's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
My husband and best man had sandals on as well. No problem! If you want a rehearsal dinner, I would suggest going to her office when you first arrive and have it arranged. She is a busy lady though so trying to catch her might be a challenge. Maybe have your meeting set up right as soon as you arrive. -

The people we travel with and us discussed maybe taking a trip there sometime in the future. It must be a new or fairly new resort as I remember something about 2009. See maybe if you can do a search on trip advisor for it. -

We are still undecided between Dreams and Riu Palace in Cabo .....we think the Riu would better suit us and some of rowdy guests but they seem to having so many f'ing rules! I really want to send out STD's soon though ....so at some point, we need to make a decision! I would go with Riu forsure. I found Riu was fancy but not too uppity...we were still able to have fun without everyone thinking we were a bunch of losers..*lol*. -

I am with Anna ..its pretty easy to get married in Jamaica. Just send your notorized paperwork and that's pretty much it. We even added some stuff to our ceremony and there was no problem. I am still waiting for my marriage license (got married two months this past sunday). I have changed my name on some stuff but others requires the legal certificate with the seal on it - which puzzles me as others have said they could change their name without it. Weather in january was so so .. we had a four day stretch there with some rain (we were there for two weeks mid to end of jan). -
We tried to watch the football playoffs in the sports bar (over near mamme bay) on the sunday we were there and they could not get us any football so we took over the bar instead..*lol* There is also slot machines and few games down there too. Nacho's are good if you want a midnight snack There is internet accress but you are required to pay for it.

The gazebo on the beach is one of the locations you may use. There are two locations and three options. You can do the beach gazebo, choose to have a beach arch (which is fairly expensive but very nice) or you can have the garden gazebo. Chandlyn will ask you which location you want in your meeting with her prior to your wedding. -
Yup, free luggage (which gets here very fast) or a $200 voucher that you can use on the e-boutique.
