  1. I didnt have the disclaimer on my contract but i was told already by the WC.. I was upset at first but the way everyone made it seem i guess its easier & less stress. The DJ issue really upset me but if its not meant to be its not. I also think this is going to pull away alot of future brides I was close to being one of them.
  2. Here is the WC response to my latest rant: ?? Is a new policy and I have to follow it. Thats all. Thanks for understanding. Thats actually the only vendors we use, I mean DJ we have the one of th hotel, and florist as well the florist works for us and also make all the flowers of the hotel, Thanks Feel free to contact me back for further questions. PS-thats why we cant continue doing exceptions as all the brides in the wedding forums talk to each other and share information, which is fine, but believe me we cant continue permiting external people.
  3. Ladies after my ranting this was the response i got from Daniella: Hola Joanna, Well the thing is that this policy just come from Managment. We cant continue accepting more and more external suppliers, thats why from now on we are not confirming any day pass for external suppliers without exceptions talking about photographers, videographers, florists, djs, etcetera.   4. Paula so from your experience, the sound system guy pretty much handled all the "dj" things.. And all you had to pay was for the rental of the equipment? it sucks because the best part of a wedding is the Hype man you know the guy that does all the mixing and saids things but i guess if they let you use a mic then you just ask someone in your party to do it no?? I am so upset because of how expensive everythign is coming out considering we were doing a DW to save money..

  6. Thats all i wanted from the outside too I dont want to pay almost double for Their DJ.. She has yet to respond back either of my ranting about this.. uughhhh Does anyone know if their In house Photographers offer TTD??

What about right now Daniella emailed me back the following : Good morning Joanna, From now on we have some hotel policies and external suppliers are not allowed for Convention Groups and Weddings. * I mean really are you serious... they are charging almost double what it costs outside the hotel I am really PO'ed too.. Its like you cant win.. You have all this money going into the hotel with your wedding, your guests and now they can't even let you bring in your own people. GRRRRRR Im angry!!

  13. Great Review... I didnt even know the spa was an option which i absolutly LOVE.. Tell me was it super windy?? I am planning to get married in June so i am scared it might be TOO hot to be outside and my guests will want to run back to their rooms to cool off.. What were the pashminas for? Im from Jersey too so I am trying to run away from the cold..lol I love your pics.. EVERYTHING was great!! Thanks so much
  14. Yes that was EXACTLY IT.. The people on the boat are so funny & nice and not to ruin the surprise but they really do take some of you guys hostage one of my friends were taken away and all along we thought oh thats funny now WHERE IS SHE.. But they ended up taking her to the Isla mujeres and they had her head in one of those "off with your head" things soooo funny!! Either way I would reccomend it the food is alright & so is the booze (nothing top shelf) but after 1 tequila shot.. They all taste the same.. Thanks for the site

  16. Okay so we went to see my TA on Wed. last week.. Had to wait about 2 hours to speak to her when i finally did she totally had NO CLUE about anything. I knew way more about everything then she did (thanks to you fine ladies ) So that was a lil aggrevating.. Then she gave me some out rageous pricing for my guests.. I dont mean to pry but does anyone know what they are estimating for their guests rooms at the Dreams Cancun?? I am just curious if she even bothered to get me a discount.. On top of that she told me she was going to contact Daniella to confirm and ask all these questions i had and she would call me the next day.. Its exactly one week later and after several calls to her (she is out to lunch, she is at the Dr's) I havent heard anything. I want to try to get my STD's ready and i want to include this information I also want a peace of mind knowing pricing etc. So in conlcusion of my rant.. Can anyone suggest a TA that I can use that has good communication with Dreams Cancun or is aware on how DW go.. Thanks
  17. Me & my fiance just were out there in October 07 and we went on a Pirate ship cruise... It was all you can eat and drink and when i tell you we did just that..lol we had such a great time and met so many different people.. There are two different choices for the Pirate Booze cruise.. one just stays in the middle of the ocean or sea (whatever it is..lol) the other takes you to Isla Mujeres (WAY WORTH IT) and they do a fun show on the boat and on land. It was way worth it I beleive we only paid about 30$ per person which included everything. I am def. doing this for my guests. The only suggestion i have is do not book it in the hotel way more money. I stayed at the Krystal which was across the street from Dreams and this guy i believe his name was carlos hooked us up. The more people the cheaper it is. Just a FYI for ya... If i find the flyer i kept from my pirate adventure i will def. post up more info for you!!
  18. Can i ask what you are using this for?? I want to do a video of old pictures of me & my dad during the father daughter dance but am getting charged an outrageous price to do this?? Any suggestions for my situation?

Oh sorry I just read the response to my question..lol (Note to self dont start reading the thread from the end to the front..lol I understand your points its just crazy when you think of it as getting close to 90$ per person.. I really hope the food is really good and the liquor is not watered down. I just responded back to Daniella with my Q&A and my date. What should i expect next?? I am anxious sorry about it

Jodey I am with you on this i feel like its stilll far away but everytime I mention the wedding to someone they seem to say THEY ARE GOING...Lol Its freaking me out becaues like you its going to make me cut things out i really wanted to have to pay for the pp deal. Has anyone tried to ever find out why the hell we have to pay per person if everyone is staying at their hotel?? it just doesnt make any sense my agent was stunned because she said not alot of all inclusive places charge per person if the people are their guests and have already paid for the all inclusive package!! Anyone have any suggestions around this??

  22. OMG I am so happy I started this thread I def. think that 750$ is wonderful especially like many of you said the fact we are paying close to that to just rent the speakers... You ladies are just the best i swear if it wasnt for you I dont think I would even consider a destination wedding. I am going to run this over with my Fiance this weekend because i think this is our best bet. I have a friend that is a DJ thats coming as well which would be ideal (its free..lol) but he saids he cant take all his equipment so we would end up renting the package they offer at dreams which would make no sense for me.. WIPPPIIEEE... Oh and I love that firework thing wow that would be so nice when you are presented as husband & wife and BAM..lol
