I am so sorry about your mom's dog. I would say wait on getting her a dog. I think that will have to be left up to her for when she is ready. Losing a pet, especially after 12 years is like loosing a family member! I hope your mom can realize that she provided her dog a great life up until her last moments and not many people can say that! And that in the future when she is ready she'll be able to do it again!

Now that is just plain scary! I don't really know what else to say!

My favorite holiday!!! One of the coolest I saw was a fly on the wall. The woman dressed in black to look like a fly and then had a piece of cardboard behind her that she wall papered to make it look like she was a fly on the wall. She won a prize at the party we were at. Also, a few years ago my friend and her husband dressed up like Dog the bounty hunter and his wife and they won $1000 at a local restaurant!

I am looking for aqua/teal and green (like our monogram) reception decorations. I figured I'd start here to see if anyone had anything for sale before buying online! I looked into it for my dog who had a thyroid issue, a cyst on her neck, chronic ear infections and pee problems and because there are all "pre-existing" she wouldn't be covered. You need to really get it when they are young and have NO health issues. Also, my vet told me that really pet insurance is a reimbursement plan. You pay up front and they give you 80% back! Not 100% that is what they are all like but that is what my vet told me.

is this the combo you use? If not, this works great! We are sending ours out later this month or early Oct because 1) we don't know how many people have actually checked our website, so this will act as another reminder 2) people haven't told us either way if they are going or not so I figure this will be a little (hopefully) kick in the butt to let us know either way!

Believe me! If it wasn't for school and not having the time and money to buy stuff, I wouldn't be as far as I am! Even now I should be doing school work but my brain is tired already and it's only been two weeks! If you want to know where I got any of my stuff let me know!

I think we are a bit ahead of the game because I did a ton this summer because I knew that with starting school in late August I wasn't going to have the time or desire to plan or the money to buy things! ! Here is our done list: ~Have date May 15, 2009 at Dreams Punta Cana ~Deposit down for Photographer - Photo Souvenior ~Paid for airfare and room deposit for Dreams Punta Cana's Preferred club ~Have all OOT bag supplies ~Wedding dress, bra, veil, shoes and jewelry ~paid for AHR location ~bought speakers for AHR from christmas tree store (only $30/each!!!) ~bought small things like(sand ceremony frame and sand, present for my mom, niece and nephew, cake topper, ring bearer shell, memory frames for my bouquet, bought hair flowers - will use extras for OOT bags (got 30 for $30+ shipping on ebay) bucket for flower girl, wedding bubbles) ~Bought FI's wedding bands and my wedding band is being made to fit my engagement ring and is mostly paid for ~Have made boarding pass invititations for wedding and will send out sometime this month ~Having friend make welcome books/photo books~ for us, hopefully she'll be done in mid/late January so we can start to put them together ~bought passports ~bought guestbook ~bouquet jewelry ~decided we're doing our own "rock the reception" and FI has mixed us a song that we'll have to start practicing too! ~started making our song lists for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception I have attached an excel spread sheet we have started where we are keeping track of everything! It is amazing how small things add up! but we are counting everything, even having to buy a new printer for doing the invitations, even though we'll use it for school purpose etc too! completion_list.xls

I LOVE Halloween and this year we'll be having our 3rd Annual Halloween Party! We go all out, crazy decorations on the lawn and porch (even made a kid cry last year because he was scared of our porch!) And we like to send out cool invitations. The first year I made invitations with burnt edges, spider web and a spider etc.. last year we did a ransom note so this year we need to get creative as well. Just my two cents -- I have been in the situation where I was the made of honor and another friends was the Matron of honor--normally wouldn't care but I don't get along/respect this ygirl and so it was hard....but I sucked it up cause it was my friend's wedding -- but if the two don't get along I wouldn't recommend it.

I know there is a larger picture to this, but my first thought was "why the hell does she have to do the dishes??!" You work too! So household chores should be equal, as in when you get home from work and dinner is done we'll both do the dishes! But I would have a conversation when you have cooled down a bit and say that even though he doesn't think he has a tone you hear a tone and therefore he needs to think before he says something. and that you two are a team not a solider with a drill seargant!!!!

I do need the insurance because 1) the school requires it, especially being in an allied health program 2) I travel about two hours, to and from school work and home and I'd hate for something to happen and not have the insurance and then have thousands of dollars in medical bills! The school does offer insurance but I am one credit short of being eligible!!!! Which sucks because I totally would have done that until Jan! So I guess I just have to suck it up and pay the monthly fee until January! Man they get you coming and going!!!! Thanks for the advice!!!

My thoughts are you should in the nicest way you possibly can let them know that 1) you understand things happen but that you both are really disappointed about them not being able to come 2) that you wish the SIL had told you herself not through mommy mediator!!!! If so, I have a question. I am currently going to school for dental hygiene. I have received $9500 in federal loans that cover my school costs and I took out a student plus loan to help cover the cost of living next sememster because I won't be working. However, right now I am working 21 hours a week to keep insurance and paying $240 a month for it because I need it for school and incase anything happens to me. In January I can become enrolled in my fi's works insurance because Vermont does a Domestic partnership thing. but that means waiting 4 months and paying almost $1000 bucks towards insurance However, paying the $240 a month is really rough considering I am only working 21 hours a week. So, FI and I were thinking that if we did the legal portion of our wedding NOW we could save money because his work would let me join NOW! but then I got thinking and after I talked to my school they will consider his income if we get married this year for my financial aid for next year. I don't know how his income will affect my financial aid next year and I don't want trying to save $1000 bucks now to screw me later! Hope this makes sence and maybe someone can give me advice.
