  1. Tipping the WC is totally up to you and you can read the threads to help your decision but as for the waitstaff...you don't have a choice, they will add tax and tip on your dinner and cocktail hour...I think it ends up being like 15%...I am sure to get even better service you and your guest could bring some $1's to tip the bartender. 2. We're doing HD after the ceremony and group picture to keep people entertained while we are getting pics done and before we all head to dinner/reception
  3. I have tipped for all my tattoo's however I do it because I always feel like they expect it! However, none of my tattoo's are huge and have all taken 1 hour or less and have all costed about $100...so $100/hour...I don't get paid $100/hour at my job and I don't get tipped either! Can you tell it is a touchy point with me...I know they don't get the full $100 if they have to rent a station etc...but still they get paid well!
  4. HAHAHAHA, I could totally see myself being that type of mother-in-law in the future beccause that is funny!
  5. We just ordered custom made shirts from Wedding tropics. One for the groom, his father, brother, and my nephew who is the ring bearer
  6. I bit the bullet and bought twelve from the website listed on the thread "online retailers I love" it was like $60 for twelve after shipping...which I thought was a good price! I think they'll come in handy for air conditioned restaurants!
  7. Here is a link to some excursions and information on them Amstar DMC Dominican Republic, Punta Cana Activities If you want, send me your email, I have a copy of a flyer with the excursions as well
  8. Welcome & Congratulations...We will be there about 1 month before you!!!!
  9. You have my vote! I didn't pay attention but how many times can we vote?
  10. We actually found two websites to get all our stuff. We used WNA Comet Reflections Rolled Napkin and Stainless Steel Look Cutlery 120/CS for our silverware. We were able to get the reflections silverware (fork, spoon and knife) already wrapped with a black band. We got them yesterday and I opened one and the napkin is high quality and the silverware is fine! I got two packages of 120 sets, so 240 total and got seperate forks for the cake incase people throw them away before the cake. We got all that for $130, which I think is a great deal because looking at costco we could get some but it came with like 80 forks, 40 spoons and 40 knifes and with what we got it all came as a set and already wrapped! We also used Smarty Had a Party! 9" Scroll Plates – Case of 240 and got 9" and 6" plates for dinner and dessert. They are scheduled to be delivered today, I am excited to see what they look like!
  11. that sucks! If they don't do anything about the people they let book, I sure as h*ll would get my $16/pp back! You paid money for it to be private and you aren't getting it!
  12. I confess that I've had this week off from school (but I have picked up extra hours at work) and I haven't done any of the homework I had hoped to accomplish, such as the 2 papers that are due shortly, the two exams I have next week, oh and getting ready for seeing my first real patient! Who knew going to school for dental hygiene would be so hard and time consuming! okay.....back to writing one of my two papers!
  13. Cool, I didn't even think about restaurants....they do get chilly and therefore come in handy...
  14. I like the idea of getting our female guests pashmina's but we are getting married in May and I am not sure if they will really be necessary. I am not sure if the evening breeze will be "chilly" enough to have a pashmina for going to dinner or walking along the beach! Anyone get them for an April/May/June wedding and did your guests need them?
  15. Thanks! We get their emails but didn't have a link to get free brochures! Luckily Andi was able to help us out and we only had to pay like $7 bucks with upload fees and shipping! Much better then the $30 something we were going to have to pay! 16. I got my niece (who will be 7) a charm bracelet with tropical charms and I figured each year at Christmas I can get her another charm. I got a cute flower girl shirt and a beach towel that she can play checkers on. I am sure i'll get a few more things before we head out. My nephew (who will be 3) I got him a t-shirt and a towel game that he can play chutes and ladders. Plus we got their wedding outfits.
  17. I love to hear great things about them. We are using them Friday, May 15 at Dreams Punta Cana! Can't wait to see your pics.
  18. Found two more sites that might be helpful for the ladies planning their AHR Party Plates, Plastic Plates, Party Supplies|Elegant Wedding Supplies|Partyware We got 250 plates from the for our AHR. We didn't want just paper plates and so we found some great plates on this website. they have been easy to work with so far! About Us - WEBstaurantStore.com Again, didnt want crappy white plastic silverware and so we were able to get prewrapped reflections silverware (looks like real silverware but is plastic) and got a really good deal on them and I don't have to worry about wrapping sets myself!
  19. "No ID, No Entrance!" or "Excuse kind sir, we require a jacket and tie at this fine establishment"
  20. Does anyone have a coupon code for Vistaprint? We have our pre-travel brochures all made but the cheapest we can find them on vistaprint was $19.99 and we were hoping to get them for free! Thanks!
  21. From the tone of what you wrote I don't think you are going to like it anymore when you go for your third fitting. My thoughts are if you have the money in you budget try to get a new dress (I got one from David's bridal and walked away with it the day i paid for it) and you can sell your first one. If your dress is really important to you then you have to get one you feel glamorous in!
  22. I think as long as you feel good doing it and you aren't pushing yourself beyond your limits you'll be fine! I love kickboxing classes and have taken many throughout the years! Keep it up!
  23. You can get some at bed bath and beyond for .99 cents. it comes in a small plastic box with a few basic and we added stuff like tylenol, pepto, a mini sewing kit, more bandaids etc......
  24. Very true! Do you already own a camcorder or are you going to purchase one? and if so what type did you get?
  25. I'd really like to have a DVD of our ceremony, one, for us to have a copy but second, to have one playing at our AHR The Dreams Punta Cana DVD is $350 The Photo souvenior DVD is $390 + $60 shipping and it takes at least three weeks, which will be to late for us and you pay the day fee Lastly, do you thikn I should consider buying a camcorder and asking a guest to videotape for us? They make some nice ones that are shake/blur resistant and have pretty good optical zoom I don't know what to do, I'd really like the DVD but I don't think a 30 min or less video is worth almost $400 bucks but then again can I trust someone who doesnt' have a lot of expperience to get a decent video Thoughts?
