  1. Yes! I did see I made "junior member"! How exciting. I saw some instructions but they were compatible with power point and I dont have power point on my computer. I'll check out the link you posted and see if that will help me. thanks!
  2. So, I am having a bit of an issue. I want to make a logo/monogram . I'm really not sure how to do it yet, but I think I saw somewhere on here where there were instructions to do so. I will be using Win Word so I am hoping the instructions will be compatible and easy to follow. But this is not my issue. I totally lack imagination and DIY skills and i really want to make a really pretty logo for us. My main problem is I dont want to just design it around our initials. His name is Shane, mine is Melanie. Intitals would be, S&M...really? Does anyone have any suggestions for me, or would anyone like to design something for me that doesnt use our intitals. We are getting married at ROR , Jan.15, 2009. Any help would be greatly appreciated as the DIY portion of my brain did not develop properly! Thanks so much
  3. I cant help but peek at the spoiler site...did anyone who did look notice on the left-hand side what it said about Adam? Interesting!

Welcome to the forum! Have fun planning!
  5. There is a vaccination that you take orally. Its called Ducoral. Its suppose to immunize you against certain bacteria that causes diarrhea. A friend of mine that just got back from a trip to SE Asia took it before his trip and never developed any GI symptoms while away. Not sure what bacteria it fights against but I suppose it might be an option for those who are very sensitive to GI upset. I guess it might be an option.
  6. Please dont judge me or think I'm crazy my confession: For as long as I can remember I have had an unhealthy relationship with food and secretly battle an eating disorder. I love food, i obsess about food, I am always thinking about food, I have even dreamed about food. I go through secret stages of intense over eating followed by periods of disgust and self-induced starvation. My FI doesnt know....shhhhh!
  7. Ok, I am so glad to see all of you BB watchers and addicts! I love the show and I religiously watch every season and every episode and have the PVR set to record every episode. Now, I am not a very patient person when it comes to BB and from past seasons I have learned that CBS edits ALOT of "all the good stuff" out and we dont see it or even know that it ever even happened. so I impatient and snoopy about the house guests, am constantly peeking at the "spoiler website". Not sure if any one has posted it yet so i thought I would. totally up to you if you want to go see all the drama as it unfolds. I cant get enough! The spoiler is posted from some guy who subscribes to the live feed and then updates us on all the juicy info and posts the "unedited" videos. If someone has already posted this, I'm apologize for the redundency. Big Brother 9 Spoilers ps. So f"ing happy Jen got voted off. She was a little bitch.
  8. Hi Everyone! I too, got the E-mail about not being able to book until Mar/Apr. So i didnt stress at all. I thought I had lots of time yet. Then I see that they were taking wedding bookings and ALOT of the times and days for the week we are going to be there were ALREADY taken! WTF So let me tell you I was freaking out. We have people booked already to come, they have vacation time grnated already for that week? So after going through the days and times with a fine tooth comb I managed to tentatively book Thurs, Jan 15th at 1pm on the beach! So excited, now I just have to wait for the confirmation. I sure hope it works out! fingers crossed! I just dont understand how they told alot of us that we could not book until Mar or Apr then all of a sudden they are taking bookings in Feb? confusing. I just hope everyone that got that "auto-email" check out this thread or the Riu website. It would be really sad if their available dates and times get filled.
  9. Hi! I am a Burn Nurse and my FI is a Firefighter.
  10. Hi Everyone, We are getting married at ROR next Jan. and after reading about necessary documents needed to get married there, I have a question, How do you get your passports and birth certificates "notarized"? Do you have to pay a lawyer to do it or are there other ways? Sorry, if I sound stupid, I've just NEVER had to have anything notarized before!
  11. I bought my message in a bottle supplies from SandBlast and it was WAY cheaper than anywhere else i looked. Even the shipping was cheap and I'm in Canada. I didnt order that many, only about 20 bottles and boxes.( only sending out to confirmed DW guests) Cant wait for the bottles to get here, so I can start making the invitations.
  12. You see, I am totally NOT stressed at all about friends and co workers etc., RSVPing or booking. I know they have stuff going on in their lives too but wanted to invite them and give them an option to come. I am in no way pressuring them or giving them time constraints to book or RSVP. If they can come awesome, if they cant I understand completely. Its my immediate family that I am stressing about. I just want to know if they can attend. yes or no. I accept if ,for financial reasons or work-related issues or family issues or whatever reason, they can not attend my wedding. I would just like to know sooner than later. If they are saying "maybe", but really just buying more time until they say "no" because they want to spare my feelings then I would rather just be told now. So i can get used to the idea thats all. I wouldnt make them feel bad and I wouldnt be angry at them. sure I would be a little disappointed because I would love to share our day with them but I am a very understanding and reasonable person. I would just rather know because I am worrying about it so much and thinking about it so much. I've never been married before so having my family there would be my ultimate wish. just feeling overwhelmed....sorry
  13. The deposit isnt that much. Its $200. And they have until 45 days before departure to pay it out. I'm trying not to get involved with guests booking but this is my family. my Dad already told me he wouldn't be coming because a trip to the tropics is on the "bottom of his list of things to do"....um Dad, its my wedding? My twin sis agreed to be my MOH but now cant confirm if she is going to come or not? My mom says she needs to work out her budget( ok, i understand that, i guess). as for my Bro and older sis...I havent even heard back from them AT ALL. And i call people but now I'm starting to feel like a "door-to-door vaccuum salesman", trying to convince people it would be a great time if they came to my wedding. I shouldnt have to resort to this. I just want my someone in my family to attend.....
  14. So, I need to get something off my chest. Please bear with me..... So my FI and I got engaged in Oct. and almost immediately decided on a DW and we were very open and honest with all of our friends and family about our plans. Everyone was pretty receptive to our decision to get married in Jamaica. They were on board and their only request was that we gave them lots of notice...so I complied with their request! I started planning early, I picked a resort, picked a TA, requested a group rate, sent out wedding website with all the info... the wedding will take place next Jan. at ROR. So now it has come time for people to put down their deposit. NO ONE IN MY FAMILY WILL PUT DOWN A DEPOSIT! So far we have 11 people that RSVP'd and put down deposit. All RSVP's are either FI's family or our friends. I feel so upset and a little angry too. I accommodated their requests for "lots of notice", so what is the problem? They have a year to save their money, etc. I feel like I'm being "strung along".. Either commit and say your coming or decline and say you aren't. I love my family but right now I am so frustrated with them! Today I told them, they have 1 month to give me a definitive answer. I know its a year away, but I really need to know if anyone from my family is coming... this is emotionally straining on me..I'm a thinker and I'm a worrier. So this whole fiasco is emotionally draining for me right now! Am I being too hard on them and turning into a "bridezilla"? What do you suggest I do? Advice please, anyone?
  15. I really like the idea of doing the first dance right after the ceremony. I never thought of it, but I think that would work out great if our wedding is earlier in the day. Thanks for the great idea! I think I'm going to do that too.
  16. Hi everyone. We are getting married at ROR Jan.2009. I have a song that I want played when the groomsmen and bridesmaids walk down the aisle, a different song for when I walk down the aisle and yet another different song after they pronounce us husband and wife. Is this possible for the beach gazebo ceremony? Who runs the music during the ceremony? Do you have to bring your own CD player for the ceremony? How does the music sound on the beach? I know its alot of questions I'm just really set on the songs I would like played at the ceremony. I would like to know if its possible or too complicated for who ever is in charge of the music( I'm sure someone in our group wouldnt mind running the music) If anyone can help I would really, really appreciate it thanks
  17. Hi everyone, My DH and I have been together 7 years and living together for 5 . I have a 10 year old son from a previous relationship, who my DH raises with me as his OWN son. So my son is going to walk me down the aisle. I'm definitely gonna need water-proof mascara on this day!!
  18. Thanks Deb& Beachbride Makes me feel better to hear someone tell me its not unreasonable pricing etc. Thanks again. I needed that!
  19. I am sorta glad to hear that other people are getting grief from their friends and family. Im glad I'm not alone. We always planned on going away to get married. When we got engaged, we considered having a local wedding to make everyone happy. But as we started planning we were hearing from people..."Well i hope you dont expect us to stay after the dance and break down tables?", from our parents " I hope you dont expect us to pay for anything?"... so F&*K IT!! We went back to our original plan of having a destination wedding. Where WE would be in control of OUR wedding! When we told everyone about it, 85% of the people were "on-board". we heard " We will be there for sure". "It will be awesome, cant wait". "just let us know when and where and we will be there". So I did ALOT of research and fell in love with ROR. so i contacted a TA and got a "discounted group rate quote".. the only catch was that in order to secure the discounted rate we needed 10 people to put down a 200$ deposit( us included..so really we only needed 8. Now all of a sudden people are saying..." well, I dont know what we are doing next Jan, its kinda alot of notice dont you think?", "Its so expensive", "You mean we have to pay our own way there"..etc. So coming up with the 8 people was impossible. Can you believe it? 8 people(FAMILY included). thankfully the travel supplier extended our quote an extra week and i think now, finally, we have our 10 secured. Do people not realize that the discounted group rate helps them, not us? We dont care how much it costs, WE ARE GOING TO JAMAICA TO GET MARRIED, regardless. Of course it is going to be a little more expensive, its a 5* resort. I only getting married once, im not going to downgrade to a 3* just to make it like 200-300$ cheaper for my guests. Is that selfish of me? So anyways now the website is out and there have been quite a few people that have viewed it(like 94 in 3 days)...so far the grand total of RSVP's= 2!! And its not like it is a brand new info to everyone. We told everyone 2 months ago that we are having a DW and to watch for the website....this is where i heard all the "YES, we are in for sure", we'll watch for the site", from everyone. So i am really frustrated. Now I'm hearing , "well you plan on having a reception when you get back right?", "for all the people that cant make it Jamaica?"um....no, i wasnt planning on it. Why plan 2 weddings? so tell me everyone....Am I being selfish or unreasonable about our DW? ps. sorry for all the venting, just needed to get it off my chest! our website isShane Wood & Melanie Wrubleski's Wedding Website - WedQuarters Do you think it is TOO expensive? In comparison to your DW guest prices? Help!!
  20. Hi everyone, I have a quick question. We are getting married at ROR Jan.2009. We plan on using the "free wedding package". Does anyone know if a photographer is included with this package? check out our wedding website. I had so much fun working on it! Shane Wood & Melanie Wrubleski's Wedding Website - WedQuarters
  21. Hi TiffJT, Thanks for answering my post. That dress from Davids Bridal IS really beautiful! How much is it retail and how much would you be willing to sell it for? You say it is a size 6, does it fit like a six or more like a 4 or 8? I am a size 6 definitely not a size 4(unless i live on water for a month! HA!) PM me and let me know how much you would let it go for, etc. thanks again Mel
  22. Thank you ,everyone, for all the great websites. I found a beautiful DW dress on the Davids Bridal website. It is perfect but, I live in canada and they dont ship to Canada...now I'm pouting and back to square one! Oh well, I guess I will keep looking....
  23. HI everyone, I'm looking for any good online sites with DW dresses/beach style dresses. I have been surfing around but haven't really had any luck. Alot I have looked at have been very traditional in stlye. Not sure I really want to tote around a big dress with me from Canada to Jamaica. If anyone has any sites or suggestions I would be very appreciative if you could share them with me. Take care M
