I'm sure they look beautiful!! So excited for you about the book! I'm sure it will look great! I'm sure I'll be reaching out to you for advice when I start working on mine.
  4. SO GLAD YOU HAVE SUCH GREAT FRIENDS!! YAY for good friends!! So glad they're there with you to celebrate and I hope you have had a WONDERFUL DAY!! Best wishes and enjoy!! PS - I used DJ Mannia too, and I loved him. He was so great.
  5. Morgan - I LOVE IT!! Looks wonderful!! I'm hoping to do the same thing one day, but I've been burnt out too. You've inspired me! It really looks so wonderful! Nice work!
  6. Just been crazy busy! Newlywed life is going well! I haven't been here in forever, but the swine flu had me thinking about all of these poor brides who are getting married down there now so I came here to check in. I feel horrible for them. I can't imagine. Ugh! How has newlywed life been treating you?
  7. HAVE ANOTHER MARGARITA. I know it's terrible now, and my heart is breaking for you, but one day this might make a funny story. I think the worst thing that could happen would be if everyone DID come and then they all got sick. I know that's highly unlikely, but like you said, you can't force people to come if they're uncomfortable. If you do end up cancelling, please make sure that you and FI still do something special - just the two of you. I'm so sad that you've been crying so much. No girl should feel like that before her wedding. So, try to dust yourself off and enjoy the things you DO have control over. Like how much fun you and FI can have while you're down there with just the two of you. And how empty the beach will be. And how many margaritas you can drink. And how much time you can spend at the spa. Try to make the most of it. I AM SO, SO, SO SORRY. It's amazing how sometimes life just doesn't want to be planned and how little, really, we have control over. I'm sending lots of positive thoughts your way, and I hope something works out for you, and most importantly that you and FI have a wonderful, romantic trip whether you're alone or not! BIG HUGS!
  8. I love this!! I didn't have time to make a board, but I was visualzing a TON right before my wedding. There was a tropical storm headed to Cancun like three days before we left and I just kept visualizing sunshine sunshine sunshine. I would close my eyes, picture myself in my dress and imagine the sunshine hitting my shoulders. And it worked! Believe it or not, during our ceremony it rained at the front of the hotel, but we didn't see a drop where the ceremony was! Unfortunately the rain arrived the next day so I should have visualized longer for this getting married on Sunday. But this is a great idea! I'm sending lots of positive thoughts your way, ladies!! Hugs.

  10. I find Simon to be one of the most unattractive men on earth. I don't even want to think about how their kids were created.
  11. Morgan - what do you use to make the slideshows? I've used Windows Movie Maker and it works super quick and easy. One day I'd like to get the Adobe software, but for right now the free Windows version is perfect.

  13. Is it maybe Tim Myers - Good Life or Beautiful World? I like his songs, upbeat, and might have a bah bah bah in them, and I know I've heard them in commercials. Not sure if it has been a lemonade commercial, but his songs were in some kind of commercial. http://www.myspace.com/timmyersmusic
  14. YES! I've been twice and loved it. One of my best friends was having a rough time with her boyfriend and we decided to go see a psychic just for fun. She had moved to a new city to be with him over a year ago and had been upset that he hadn't proposed yet. So, the psychic told her she needed to be patient. That he was serious about her and he was going to propose. But that he was trying to get his career better established before he proposed and just to trust him and relax. She went home and told her then boyfriend what the psychic said and he said "holy crap, that's really weird. That is really what's going on with me. I have it in my head that after I get this next promotion THEN I'll be at a point where I could ask your dad for your hand and I just wasn't comfortable going to him until I had a better job". Long story short, he got a promotion, and they're married now. So, when I went into the psychic's room, which was covered with over a thousand pictures of the pope which I found completely distracting because I couldn't stop thinking "I didn't realize Catholocism and Spiritual Readings meshed?" she told me that I was going to marry the boy I was with (now husband), that we were going to have some very rough times and that I was going to have fight for this relationship, that we were soulmates, but good things don't come easy. Shortly after that, he made the decision to get out of the military and we went through the hardest transition I could imagine and we both hung on tight. (Sometimes I wonder if I would have stuck it out if the psychic hadn't told me to, but I'm so glad I did.) She also said I'd have 3 kids (we'll see!), and that I was going to get a promotion soon (I did) and have a very successful career where I would make lots of money, but that I was going to have trouble holding onto it and I needed to be careful. (That one still haunts me. Especially since she told my friend that money was going to flow in her life very easily and she was never going to have to worry about it.) I then went back to her again about 6 months later and she didn't remember me. And I thought "hmm...if she's psychic, wouldn't she have known I was coming back?" But she told me all the same things. 3 kids, good career, soulmate... Also, and I'm almost embarassed to admit this, but I called Sylvia Browne on the Montel Williams show when I was in college. I had gone through a ridiculously painful breakup and just decided to pick up the phone one day. I paid $300 for her to tell me that I was going to marry a short, balding man who would have been blonde at one point. And that I wouldn't get married until I was 37. (That phone call was one of the most depressing of my life.) I married a 6'2" brunette with a full head of hair when I was 30, so I'm pretty sure that was the worst $300 I've ever spent. My question is: Have any of who have been to a psychic listened to what they said so closely that you think it could have altered your path in life? There were several times during hubby and I's rough patch where I thought about giving up, but several times I told myself "the psychic told you you have to fight for it, so FIGHT" and weirdly enough I really think that helped get us through. (And I am so happy it did!!) So, I wonder if going to a psychic can actually change things for us? Hmmm...
  15. Oh, I'm a couple of episodes behind, but I LOVE Bethenny. I find her sarcasm hilarious. Loved the way she handled herself with the crazy Kelly lashing. And I'd feel terrible for saying this if Ramona has a real health problem that causes that twitching, but I'm gonna bet she's on some pretty serious diet pills. I did watch the premiere episode of the New Jersey Housewives and I'm pretty excited about that too. I think it might be my new favorite bad TV addiction.
  16. Morgan - you are always so helpful! I love that you're still around here helping people long after your wedding has come and gone. Still sending lots of love and good wishes to all of you dealing with this now!
  17. Jessica - how are you doing?! I can't believe your wedding is so soon and all of this madness is going on! I'm so sorry! Have you talked to Fernanda? What are the Hilton's thoughts on all of this mess? I'm so sorry for all of you guys!
  18. Hi girls, I got married in Cancun in November and haven't been to this forum in a while. Just wanted to stop by and give you all some *hugs*. I'm so sorry all of this swine flu stuff is happening so close to your wedding dates! I'm sure there will be some humor in this some day, but as of now, I'm just sending you all warm, fuzzy thoughts and I hope your wedding days all are wonderful - no matter where they are!
  19. Hi all & R&V!! Congrats!! Vanessa, I thought Mannia's price was very reasonable, especially for how great he was. Has the Hilton quoted you a price for their in-house DJ? I don't remember what it was, but I remember the Hilton's quote to be ridiculously expensive. We had a 7 hour wedding, and there were still some people who could have kept dancing! I'm sure it will be great! Good luck!
  20. Also - here's the slideshow! I LOVE IT!!! So excited for all of you!! Shannon and Jeff
  21. Thanks all!! Here's our professional slideshow. ELIZABETH MEDINA DID A FANTASTIC JOB!!!!!! We have received so many compliments and I really feel like she captured the energy of the evening! Shannon and Jeff Also, two things I wanted to post pics of, but I don't have them. On the guest book table before you entered the reception, we had a large frame sitting on a pedestal (you can kind of see it in one of the pics - I'm sorry I don't have a better one!) - it says: Thank you for being part of our wedding. In lieu of favors we have made a donation in your name to three charities that are very close to our hearts. American Alzheimer's Association American Cancer Society World Wildlife Fund Both of our parents have also been married for over 40 years, so we acknowledged them in a toast at our rehearsal dinner and placed their wedding pictures along with the guest book. I had two pics of each couple and a small placecard size frame with their names, wedding date and wedding location in each frame. You can see that in the guestbook pic also. And we named the tables after places we wish to travel to in the future. There is also a sign (5x7 - you can see it in one pic) that says: To keep the adventurous spirit alive, tables have been named after locations that Shannon & Jeff have not yet explored and hope to travel to in the future. Let the journey continue! --Sorry I don't have better pics!! You can see some of these things in Elizabeth Medina's slideshow!! Sorry!

  23. I guess I should note that I bought Mexico stamps at the hotel gift shop when we arrived and stamped them all before we put them in the gift bags. So people actually sent them from Mexico. They didn't wait until they got home.
  24. Here is my very simple, plain, generic letter that happens to mention the same idea. Hope it helps! I also have a bunch of extra Cancun postcards if anyone needs them! Bienvenidos[1][1].doc
