  2. Congratulations to both of you! You both deserve the recognition

  4. I seem to have lost some points too, about 200 of them. As far as I know I only opened one attachment in the last couple of days and I've been reading threads like crazy. I wondered if it took points away for reading so much and not posting
  5. Your dress looks great! The fitting room ladies, and seamstresses really seem to know what they are doing at Windsor Bridal. The seamstress who helped my daughter re-did the front of the hem two or three times until she was satisfied. I thought it was fine the first time but she wasn't happy. She pinned it then had her walk around, then re-pinned it and so on, until she was satisfied. Did you get your bridesmaid dresses from there too?
  6. Today I went and picked up my husband's new wedding ring. I will give it to him on his birthday, on Friday. He has no idea. This is the new one, with the original 26.5 year old ring. This is the ring he had made for me for our 25th anniversary, which I wear with my original wedding ring.
  7. Did she pick the dress in the chocolate brown? That is such a lovely colour.
  8. I feel badly that you girls have this big headache on my/our behalf. Your efforts are truly appreciated! Thank you!
  9. Just trying to help you figure this out Morgan, I have some Karma, but I've never donated points.
  10. Thank you for all your patience and instructions! I think I've done my first signature picture collage.

Yes, try Windsor Bridal on Orfus Road, near Yorkdale Shopping Centre, they boast the largest selection of plus size dresses. My daughter got her dress there but we weren't looking for plus sizes so I don't remember seeing any. At least try calling ahead of time and ask them. Windsor Bridal * Toronto's Bridal Superstore * discount wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and more
  12. I'm not sure if you are still looking for an orange purse, but I was in Nine West this evening and saw an orange clutch and thought of you. In this picture on my computer it doesn't look orange but in the store it looked orange to me! Nine West Satin Bag with Bow Detail, ships 2/14 Hope it helps

I can't seem to find a large store that carries a large selection like David's does here in Canada. The selection gets even harder when your plus size is in the 20's too !!!! Are you anywhere near Toronto? I see you are in Ontario, but what is your closest major city?
  14. My husband travels back and forth from Canada to the USA for business. He's had to turn his laptop on at both sides of the border. They want to make sure it's a working laptop and not some other kind of electrical equipment. I don't think they've actually gone through his files though, he's just had to turn it on.
  15. Do any of the Ontario girls know where to get corset/bustiere type of bras in or around Toronto? We've tried the usual The Bay, Sears, LaSenza and they have the sexy type, but not the smooth practical ones

I am in a very similar, yet different, situation. My parents divorced about 4 years ago (very, very ugly...cheating involved). Well, my dad has since remarried the woman who was involved in the divorce (if you know what I mean). Well, my mom is still very bitter and hurt about the whole thing (rightfully so). My mom and I have an awesome relationship and I know how much it would kill her if this other woman was at my wedding. So I had to tell my dad that I am not comfortable with having his wife at my wedding (my sister had to do the same thing in July). I can't really tell someone that they can't come to San Diego, so she is going to be there, just not at the wedding. Part of me feels like "who cares if she is there?" but I know that my mom does and I WILL NOT have my mom upset at me on my wedding day. I know that it is ineviatble that she will be around at some point, but is it fair to me and my FI for that first time to be our wedding? I don't think so. I hope that your situation works out as best as it can. My dad was pretty understanding and never pulled the whole "Well then I won't be there." I only hope that your mom can be understanding...especially since it seems that he doesn't want any part of getting to know you guys!! My heart goes out to you. I was in a very similar situation 27 years ago when I got married. What ended up happening was that my mom was the 'host' if you will, my dad was invited to the ceremony and the reception but his new wife was not invited to anything. There was a tremendous amount of animosity between my mom and my dad's new wife as she had been my mom's best friend. So my Dad and his new wife and her two children came to the church for the ceremony (my dad did not give me away, my granddad did) and my dad came for the first part of the reception, but I think he left soon after the meal. Fast forward to 2008 and my daughters wedding, the situation has changed since 1981. My dad is no longer married to wife #2, he's on wife #3, and his wife #2 is now married to husband #3. My mom married again but divorced husband #2. So all were invited to Katie's wedding, including dad's ex-wife and her new husband, as I'm actually closer to her than my mom and she has been involved in Katie's life over the years. And they've all RSVP'd yes! Could turn out to be quite eventful. Sorry for the novel
  17. We put the bride & grooms mailing address on the right side with the left side blank, and a line down the middle.
  18. My daughter designed it herself. I believe she used Adobe Ilustrator, if not that another of the Adobe programs.

  21. I work in medical office administration. I work in a psychologists office part time.
  22. We used a travel agent in Toronto. Initially we paid a deposit for 10 people but I think we are up to 28 on the package with two on the waiting list. The basic package, double occupancy, 7 nights, all inclusive, May 2008departure out of Toronto for a one week stay is $1380taxes included, for the Riu Vallarta. Katie & Chris were trying to keep it under $1500 per person.
  23. My husband plans to wear a light grey suit, shirt and tie. He reckons he will only get one opportunity to walk Katie down the aisle. He knows he will be hot but after the ceremony he can take off the jacket and tie.
  24. Hi there Maeghan, My daughter is getting married at the Riu Vallarta on May 7th. I will double check when I see her today but I believe that everything has been arranged for the wedding in the past month or so. We made the booking last September but it was only recently that all the details could be finalized, but I'm not sure if Katie did it or the travel agent did it for her. I do know that she has the reception dinner location reserved and the disco for a few hours. This week she pre-booked all her spa appointments. Yes, the WC is Erika, and I will try and find an email address for her. I will have plenty of photo's and information to share when I get back in May, but if you have any specific questions ask them here and see if anyone else has the answers.

The next thing I'm worried about is getting enough liquor, the last 2 B&D's I've been to they ran out of booze!! We'll have at least 200 jello shooters though, so if we run out we'll take tickets for those! I have heard that the jello shooters are a big hit! Can never have too many
