  2. hahaha trust me - you dont want to get the treatment effect. sorry if this is TMI but the grease that leaks out if you have a treatment effect is not pleasant smelling. you dont poop yourself, but you WILL leak grease if you go over the limit. can you go out for sushi? that's really low fat. when DH wants to go out, lately i have been suggesting sushi because he LOVES it and even though im allergic, they have great other low fat stuff, like teriyaki chicken breast skewers and edamame.
  3. omg i NEED those!!!!!!! (yah right, just paste them on my ass) but they look freaking delicious and the first thing i am going to do after my wedding is over is go on a candy binge!!!!
  4. abigail sunshine, i have been stalking the forum all night looking for more pics. gimme more!!!!!!
  5. haha i figured as much tara - i dont let anything in my house that doesnt say low or no fat right now. cheese, milk and sour creams all have to be low or no fat year round though. my DH calls me the fridge nazi because i cant have anything in the house that will tempt me right now. he brought home a bag of gummy worms and i ate a handful on friday even though i had a tummy ache from lunch. i was like listen, if you had to wear a dress in front of 100 people in 3 weeks, you'd police the fridge too! we dont keep ice cream in the house at all anymore and we both are ice creamaholics. we are notorious for conning each other into late night DQ runs - my weakness is vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate, and his is a snickers blizzard. last night we discovered this place called berry chill downtown and its effing amazing. its lactose-free (thank god, because DH and i are both lactose intolerant) and only 20 cals for 5 oz! 5 oz is way bigger than it sounds. and you can get 3 toppings, and they have all kinds of fruits! i am excited to go back again. it doesnt quite taste like regular old frozen yogurt, it tastes more like actual yogurt thats been frozen. so its a bit tangy, but it was delicious! i got mine with raspberries and strawberries and a little spoonful of crushed cookie. next time i want to try it with cinnamon toast crunch cereal and fruit.
  6. jules, what do canadian smarties look like? we have something here called smarties, but im not sure its the same thing as what you have up there. now i am dying to try all these canadian goodies LOL
  7. awesome, thanks for the recipe tara, im going to go buy the ingredients at the store tomorrow to try that out!

Sometimes I just crave something cold and bubbly, and pop does the trick. Crazy I know, but I am going to do it. quitting pop was like what i imagine quitting smoking crack must be like!!!!! i used to be addicted to pop too. i cant drink diet pop because i am allergic to phenalalanine. so what i do when i am craving pop (because i too like it for the carbonation) is i switched to drinking sparkling water cut with 1/2 a glass of 100% fruit juice to add flavor. then i weaned myself down to only a splash of juice for flavor. i still get the carbonated drink, but without all the sugar and calories
  9. im so excited for you to go next week, i hope you find a dress!!! i have always wondered what the running of the brides was like, but the sale didnt fall during the time i was engaged, and i dont know that i wouldve gone anyway because huge crowds kinda freak me out. but more power to you if you are going - are you taking a team with you?

  11. i had a personal trainer from feb 07-may 08 - it got to be way too expensive and i just couldnt afford it anymore with the money i needed to be putting toward the wedding. but yes, having a trainer for say, about 5-6 sessions, will do you a lot of good to get you on a program, so you know what will work and more importantly WHY it works. let me tell you also i am not stick thin, i am 5'2" and have struggled with my weight throughout my 20s. i weigh 138 pounds which is considered overweight for my height! the best thing you can do for yourself is eat clean and exercise. i recently started taking alli to help with a little extra weight loss for the wedding. after the wedding is over in a few weeks, i think i will go back to working out regularly, but right now im just too drained and it feels like such a chore.
  12. Honestly, do not waste your money on a dietician. Go buy a book called Eating Clean by Tosca Reno. It's a mere fraction of the cost you'd spend on a dietician and gives you the same info. I have paid dieticians and personal trainers and everything I learned from them about how to eat right was in the eating clean book, I wish it had been recommended to me long ago so I didn't throw away so much money with a dietician and a trainer!
  13. congrats martha, we july brides send all our love and wishes for a happy perfect wedding day!

LOL
  15. love the pics abbie!!!!!!!!!!! cant wait to hear all the deets!!!!!
  16. oh i wanted to revisit this thread to say for anyone who is on the fence about whether or not to get legally married in the states first - i'm telling you firsthand, do it! i am SO glad we did. it got rid of all my nerves and anxiety about the big wedding. now i am so chill (well, chill for a type A, anal retentive person haha) compared to a few weeks ago. i have let a lot of stuff go and recognized there are a lot of things that 1) my guests wont care about or 2) the guests wont notice if something is not there, etc etc. i am so much less stressed about the DW than i was before we were legally married, because those things seem so trivial to me now.

  19. glenda what a great idea about the tiffanys keychain with the new initials and wedding date, now i know what my first purchase will be when we get back from mexico LOL
  20. agreed - good call alyssa about the ring holder. a good friend of mine recently got engaged and she and i are going to have the same last initial when we are both married, so i got us matching "Mrs. H" totes from land's end - it was like $25 plus shipping. she LOVED it.

Amy, what they're telling you is true - the hotel has not been "seized" yet - they've just been told they cannot accept any guests other than the ones they've already got presently staying inside the hotel. Glenda, from what I'm reading in the Spanish media, they didn't really evacuate any guests as of yet. I do have some minor updates, but theyre all in Spanish and I don't have time to translate each one word for word. So, here are the basics: The attorney for the Mexican EPA (called Profepa) said that also in addition to Tulum and Cancun, areas in Acapulco, Baja California Sur (where Cabo is located) and Nayarit will be subject to similar sanctions as these hotels for harming the environment and for not having the proper required documentation to operate in accordance with environmental laws near government-owned and protected land. They're threatening to demolish hotels who don't comply with any sanctions given to them to fix the problems. But at this point, it's only a threat. They're saying that the hotels would eventually be demolished to rehabilitate nature on the land where the buildings are currently located. i.e. return the land to its natural state. Basically there is a lot of talk about the reason why all this happened in the first place is because business people (the hoteliers) and the federal goverment employees have had a long-standing corrupt relationship. Certain gov. officials likely gave out illegal permits and such in exchange for bribes. The Profepa has drawn up a map of the areas all in question (all around the country, using satellite images) to determine what properties are where, and if they are violating any environmental law or encroaching on government owned sanctuary-type land. In addition to the hotels already closed in Tulum, they are adding two names to the list that are under investigation: Rancho Jaguar and Caleta Tankah. It seems also from one thing I read that they have also closed places called Mayan Grill and Ibera Playa Paraiso. The attorney for Profepa did also say that they are giving all the hotels some time and are not immediately closing them permanently. If you can read in Spanish, here is the source I have been getting my info from today: http://www.yucatan.com.mx/noticia.asp?cx=90300000067316&f=20080718 http://www.yucatan.com.mx/noticia.asp?cx=90000000066968&f=20080718 http://www.yucatan.com.mx/noticia.asp?cx=90000000066966&f=20080718
