  1. they are called "flame callas" and FYI they are not native to many places, which means they can be extremely expensive. for example in cabo, that color does not exist and they have to have it flown in overnight from mexico city. the hotel where i got married quoted me $250 for my bouquet to do that.
  2. i dont wanna ruin it for you so ill just say that there was a certain point in the 2nd episode where i had to leave the room because it was just too sick.
  3. i turn my ring inward when i wear gloves in the winter. if your leather gloves are cashmere lined like mine, you just have to be careful not to snag the cashmere. but its no big deal really.
  4. no ugly betty doesnt start until next week, this is def a rerun
  5. happy birthday susan!!!!! i am currently home alone sitting on my couch watching an episode of ugly betty that i mustve missed when i missed the last several episodes of the season and i am totally confused at whats going on. i should go downstairs to the gym, but i really dont wanna work out right now... ill keep you company!
  6. leia, she didnt post them on the forum, she sent them to me via email. i dont want to post them here without her permission, but PM me your email address and i will forward them to you.
  7. leia thats great! is he taking you into san jose del cabo or cabo san lucas? he actually did something really similar with another forum member who is no longer active...coreyphil. i'm not sure that her JC pics are anywhere on the forum so let me look through my email and see if i can find what she sent me.
  8. omg hahaha dumpster baby.... my husband is obsessed with this show and sometimes i just have to leave the room. how about the one where the one guy is trying to screw the other guy's mom? haha i did think that one was funny.
  9. oh hooray, how exciting trish! congratulations!!!!
  10. trisha, how did your consultation go?!
  11. kaylee, first, i am over emo when i am pmsing too. dont feel dumb about it, i think its something we all go through. second, i am going to recommend a short little book for you to read. my husband and i received it as a wedding gift from some friends. at first when they gave it to us, i was like "wtf, what do i need a book telling me how to keep love in my marriage and love my husband a specific way" but then i started to read it. the book is actually pretty good and gives some good solutions for people who have busy lives like we do - doing a regular date night is one suggestion, and i love this idea. we try to do this once a week. theres a lot of other helpful info in the book about how people have different ways of showing/receiving love from their partner. the book is called the five love languages and the author is gary chapman. here's the website: The Five Love Languages check out the website just to get an idea how the book sort of is. its a really easy read and it never hurts to build on an already solid relationship.
  12. we had a legal ceremony with both sets of parents there. it did not take away from our DW at all. in fact, it didnt even feel real until the DW. we sort of looked at it as the rehearsal for the DW. you can compromise with your FI a little and just do a super short ceremony, but he should compromise with you also and do it somewhere where your grandparents can go since they wont be at your DW.
  13. trish, looking back, there are so many questions i wouldve asked my photographer before making my final choice. one thing that you should discuss with them whether they ask or not is what equipment you use and what your backup plan is in case something malfunctions. will you have an assistant with you, or will you shoot alone? also, discuss with them the method of delivery of the photos. will you give them every single image you shoot on a DVD, or will you edit out some shots? how much post-production work (editing) will you be doing? (my TTD photographer told me that typically her work is 70% shooting, and 30% post-production) if you will be editing out shots, what will your policy be about seeing the "outtakes" ?(for example, some photographers stipulate in the contract you have to pay an additional fee within a certain number of days after the event in order to see them) will you offer album making services afterwards, will you do a slideshow for an additional fee, gosh i can think of a ton of things i'd ask if i did it over again. i think the fact that your wedding has already passed will give you a lot of insight into what a bride is looking for. talk to her about your experience and the things you wanted/expected from your photographer and tell her what you will do for her. what format will you shoot in, RAW or jpeg? let us know how it goes!!!!!
  14. what about a white aisle runner with light pink and white rose petals? that gives you a little extra decoration plus color, and wont be distracting. trust me you do not want any kind of flowers or decoration that could potentially take away from the bride in the photos!
  15. i moved this thread to the appropriate forum. you do not need to post everything in the DR section, regular wedding stuff can go in the regular sections. only stuff that is specific to the DR only needs to go in the DR section.
  16. honestly, i am not a huge fan of the arrangements that go up the aisle. i think they are a bit distracting. imho, less is more when it comes to church flowers. i think the best thing you can do, which will cut your costs substantially, is to nix the aisle flowers. are you allowed to have an aisle runner (or do you want one)? the church itself is really beautiful and you really dont need that much added decoration. what kind of flowers are used in these arrangements? its hard for me to tell beyond being able to see the white lillies.
  17. jessica, its nice but is this the one they quoted you $1,000 for?
  18. just FYI, even from CA, the airfare to cabo is not always cheaper... my aunt paid about $700 for her ticket from LAX to cabo for my wedding last month. if she would've booked her ticket even 3-4 months in advance she would've only paid about $350-400, but she waited too long and the fares kept going up and up because of the cost of gasoline.
  19. wtf! the second one! did you tell us about the first BM that cheated, because i sure dont remember that! so how many BMs are you down to now? is the first one not in your wedding anymore either?
  20. so glad to hear your daughter is okay... but.... omfg, kelly are you kidding me?! your friend is having an affair with your photog?!?!??! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!
  21. shoot... you know what, if you do a search for titanium bands, i am sure a thread will pop up - a lot of ladies had luck with a particular site they linked to in a thread from a few months back. i know abbie got 5 different titanium bands and then let her hubby choose which one he liked best.
  22.
