  1. honestly..... on my wedding day, i did not miss (nor did i even think about) anyone who was not there! don't be so bummed, 20 is still a decent size group! look at it this way: you'll be able to spend more time with the people who did care enough to fly there and support you!

  3. morgan i loved your wiglet actually! the only problem is that i have highlights in my hair and it would be so difficult to find the right color because of that, that i didnt think it was worth looking into.
  4. danielle is right. but honestly, i would wait until after christmas if i were you - for 2 reasons. 1) the merchandise drastically changes at places like create & barrel, pottery barn, bed bath & beyond etc etc when the seasons change. so half the stuff you register for may not be available by the time people start buying you gifts (and they will wait until the last minute - the week before the shower and wedding to buy them) so you dont want to end up having to go back in to pick new stuff because the merchandise you originally picked is no longer available. and 2) because the stores will be substantially less crowded after the holidays. usually around february, all the stores start doing bridal registry party events where they close down the store in the evening or on a weekend morning to regular customers and you register in advance to get in and register with other couples. it's a lot less stressful than trying to register with a bajillion other regular customers around you, and the sales staffs are much more attentive with you while you're registering if they arent responsible for 20 other things at once. KWIM?
  5. wanna know how i did it? i just made a low ponytail and then inverted the ponytail (topsytail style!) and pinned the rest of the tail in a loop to look like a bun. so from the side it looks like it's twisted and from the back it looks like a low chignon as soon as i get all my pics, i'm hoping she got a decent photo of the back and i will post it!
  6. depends what you are printing. but kinko's is generally much more expensive. especially if you are printing anything in color.
  7. yay jess how exciting!!! if you see celina's wedding, you better get all paparazzi for us so we can see some pics!!!
  8. jac, sometimes it depends on the designer. like mine had a normal wait time of 12-16 weeks, but my shop had another bride who bought a gown by the same designer and was having it rush shipped, so the shop was able to add my gown to the rush order at no extra charge to me. my dress came in 9 weeks because of that. it sounds weird to me though that your dress shop is being shady about taking your number & calling you back.... do you have a confirmation from them that your dress WAS actually ordered when you ordered it? like my dress shop gave me a copy of the fax confirmation from the designer that my order was received.
  9. omg.... dye your hair dark!!!!!!!
  10. sweet....christa youll have to show me a pic then for when i do get my cut so i can get some ideas!
  11. you guys are so funny, half of you want me to keep it long, half say chop it! here's what i'd do with my hair for the wedding in nov as long as i dont cut it (this is my TTD teaser pic)
  12. i know mine probably wont be popular advice...but i went through a similar situation with my mother. my parents are divorced, and dad remarried but mom did not. it got to a point that i could no longer take the negativity from her. i cut her out. she did not come to my wedding. and she even brainwashed my sister into not attending. but my life has been so much easier and happier since i cut her out. i have supportive in-laws, and my dad & stepmom. i dont need crazy in my life. if you need to cut them out, i say do it. it doesnt have to be forever. just for now because they are not understanding you are an individual with a life, feelings, goals, etc etc. perhaps some time away from them would make them realize that.
  13. yes i googled a bajillion different things with no luck. but i just thought of something else and typed "label:unread" in the search field for the inbox and up popped 3 messages that were showing as unread!!!!!!! WOOOO! strangely... i know i had read those messages and they shouldnt have been marked as unread, but i dont care anymore because the annoying 3 finally went away!!
  14. yes i have looked at every single option in the settings and nothing fixes it

I know that I have occasionally clicked on it before and been momentarily confused. Oh, or befuddled! I used that word yestrday and it made me giggle, so here it is again! gmail cant collapse files and doesnt use "folders" per se - you can use labels to label stuff, and everything just stays filed in your regular inbox. then if you click the label, you can see all the messages that are only classified under that label. so, it doesnt really apply
  16. im a gmail user and for the last several weeks, my inbox is showing i have 3 unread messages.... only i dont! i have checked all my folders, spam, trash, etc etc and cannot figure out why the unread message count is still showing 3. i have looked on the help tab with gmail, but cannot find any answers. the fact that i cannot figure it out is driving me totally insane. can anybody help me figure this out?
  17. my hair was long in the brown dress. just about the same length it is now. do you think just wearing my hair down if i cut it short will look too "everyday" ? KWIM?
  18. So....my DH really wants me to cut my hair short! Yikes! I haven't had short hair since right before we got engaged because I grew it out for the wedding. Here's a pic of what it looks like now (pardon my face, I was in the middle of asking a question at a panel discussion for a work event) and here is what it looked like short just after we got engaged: My only problem with cutting it is that I am singing in a friend's wedding on Nov. 22 and dont know what the heck I'd do with my hair if I cut it short. Here's the dress I'm wearing (that I also wore in a wedding last year) Should I chop it now or should I wait until after Nov. 22? If you think I should cut it, how should I style it for the wedding?
  19. kat just got a boob job before her wedding - i bet she can give you some advice. she did write a thread about it which i'm sure you could find pretty quickly by using the advanced search function
  20. i bought a dozen stems of white roses, and a dozen stems of white callas. we have the roses in our living room right now but i will probably switch them up with the callas soon. you can look in my blog for pics of what they look like. i think they're under a post about civil ceremony flowers.

  23. tami i live in chicago and would love to meet up! the only one of those days i def cant do anything is sunday because i have a baby shower to go to.
  24. i dont have a timeline per se, but start making sure from now until the wedding that you are drinking at least 1 liter of water a day to stay hydrated. we left on a wednesday for our saturday wedding, and i got waxed that monday. 2 weeks before the wedding, i started the GoSMILE teeth whitening, recommended by my dentist (starter kit is like $120 i think).
