I usually don't talk about it but I started this thread. I was diagnosed with POF which is Premature Ovarian Failure. There is no cure for it. There is treatment. However, we're not totally sure if thats what it is definitvely. The doctor who originally diagnosed me was a little weird and I'm not sure if he took me seriously. However, I don't have the money to go to a fertility specialist at the moment. The treatment for POF is HRT (Hormone replacement therapy). Or Birth Control pills which I refuse to take right now. So I'm taking a more natural route and using my husband's expertise chiropractic care, his MD in his office does natural healthcare. So sometimes I ovulate sometimes I don't. Sometimes I get my period sometimes I don't. I use to only get my period a few times a year. While that sounds nice it really isn't. For example last month I ovulated and this month I didn't. So I have to be careful and temp so I can time everything right to try to catch it. I got preseed which is suppose to mimic your own CM to help the sperm get up there. (Sorry for all the TMI). So all my time is spent waiting and waiting and waiting to Ovulate. If I even do. Last month was the first time I've ovulated in a while. However nothing caught. So I'm back to square one. Soon I'll be able to go in. Right now my DH just started his practice so he's not making as much as a DR. at the moment. But it's getting better and I'll be able to go in and find out more what's going on. It sucks big time.

So theres a Mommy to be thread so I thought I would start a TTC (Trying to Conceive) Thread. I don't know if I'm the only one. But I don't know anyone in RL that is going through the same thing, so it makes it hard to talk to anyone. Plus the stress going through it is sometimes hard to handle. Put that with my job watching a kid everyday sometimes I have a breakdown. So I thought that if we had a support thread for anyone TTC we could talk about what we're doing, what we're taking and how we're handling it. I'm hoping theres a few of us out there. *Cross my fingers* Anyone? If not we can let this thread get deleted. I'll start. I'm on CD6. I didn't ovulate last month and my thermometer broke. Blah. I'm on prenatals, iron, evening primrose oil and vitamin B. I also just got pre-seed which is wierd. I also do fertility yoga to help destress. I think thats it?

We left the debate on in our bedroom and I was in the kitchen. And then I walked back in and our new kitten was sitting up at the end of the bed staring at the TV. It would of made a great pic if I had a camera ready. He then fell asleep standing up. Does that mean it was boring? hahaha

So I thought since there were so many fans of twilight we should have a thread to discuss it without ruining the other one with spoilers! I think I lost myself in the other thread and it sounded like I didn't like the book. Which I did but it was still "Fluff". But I read alot of fluff. Haha. Anyways...I wanted to know whether you were on Team Jacob or Team Edward at the beginning before book 4. Also want to know if you would of made the same decision as her becoming a vamp and carrying the baby. Or what you think of her choosing those. We'll start with these but I have tons more questions.

I'm such a book worm. I'm on my fifth book of the week. I'm like the pp who said they read alot of series. James Patterson keeps the same character in his books so I like his books. My favorite series though is Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind. Actually his first book has been made into a tv series which comes out in November on the WB. It's being made by the guy who did Spider Man. I'm really excited. There is about 12 books. They are AMAZING. My favorite! I hope the series on tv is as good as the book. But I doubt it.

I've missed having a good vamp series to read since Anne Rice went all weird and non-vampy ... *sigh* If you want a great vamp series you should read Laurell K. Hamiltons Anita Blake series. Now I will warn you there is ALOT and I mean alot of sex in her books. But if you don't mind they are great. I'd call them semi fluff but the story line is amazing!! -

Writing allows you to exlore the unknown and juxtapose your own beliefs against that of what you are writing. You can even argue that when you explore the beliefs of what you are "against," you may become more familiar or solid in your own. (Not that I think this is what Meyer was doing. She may have slipped the sex from pressure, but maybe her views on sex aren't exactly parallel with Mormon beliefs. There are many that practice a particular religion but do not agree 100% to everything.) As for parental content, well just with everything, parents have to be informed. I certainly know that when the day comes, I will have certain shows and stations blocked because I don't ask society to censor for me. I know not everyone takes that approach, but it's not hard to research the content of a particular book. Granted, they could have started one-three and found 4 to be a little out there. But I don't know if I would let my child read a "vampire" book if they were too young to understand the hints of sexual tension. I wasn't sayin anything bad about the author. She's an author and can write whatever she wants. I was only talking about all the parents our there that are LDS who judged the book by the author. I'm an author . I should say I'm a published author so I totally understand writing from different viewpoints. I do it in my writing. I like to write from the other side of things. It makes it fun and you learn more. So that's totally fine. I wasn't saying she should keep sex out of books at all. Just that people were judging her based on her religion and reading them based on that fact. Sorry I make no sense and am again rambling. I'm thinking we should make a thread discussing what we like and don't like about the book. I think I might of spoiled and gave stuff away to people who haven't finished. I'd love to discuss some other stuff. Especially that name. UGH! How do you even pronounce it?!?! -

I just want to say I don't think sex is bad in a book. What I was saying was that from an LDS (mormon) stand point and their view on sex and her writing to a younger audience she was sucked in by critics and the media to put sex in the books. One of the friends I mentioned before let her 8 year old read them and to me that's kindof young. But she didn't read the books before hand and didn't know there would be all the sexual tension that there was. Yes sex after marriage is good to teach but there was sexual tension before they were married. (Not that that is bad hell I lived with my FI before marriage) It's not my view on things AT ALL. But Stephenie Meyer's view from her religion standpoint is. All I was saying is it's surprising to me that she didn't keep to her morals when writing the books which is fine. I'm a writer too so I understand. But I still wouldn't let me 8 year old read them. My whole point is I didn't agree with letting children read the book soley based on the fact of her religion. B/c she didn't carry her religious moral's into the book. That's it. Sorry I'll stop rambling. They are addictive I agree. I read all 4 within a week too. But I read super fast. About 5-7 books a week. (Which reminds me about the book club thread) hmmm. Maybe we should read twilight. It's on the list. -

"Twilight" Series and Movie Discussion--WARNING! Spoilers!
Birdie07 replied to lovefreddy's topic in Random Thoughts
I have read them. I initialy read them b/c I heard all the hype. A little backstory...I was raised mormon and the author is also mormon. So alot of my friends who have kids are all mormon still. So there was alot of hype about the books from them. I don't like to judge a book by its cover, so I bought them and read them. I wrote a review which you can read in my blog linked in my siggy. But they are fluff to me. I enjoyed them but I would not let my children read them. Alot of the friends I mentioned think the books are great b/c of the authors religion. Just because someone practices good morals doesn't mean she'll put them in her book. The first book was great keeping sex out of it but by the fourth book she couldn't. I don't mind sex in books at all. But parents who are LDS (mormon) who let their kids read the book just because the author is LDS is not a bright idea without reading it first. I think the got talked in to adding that to add something to her books. I don't think she's an amazing writer per say but the books are entertaining while you read them. I'm not obsessed but I'd read the next one. I don't know about the movie yet. Sometimes they butcher it. One last thing the name she named her child in the last book. Um that is the wierdest name ever!!!!! -

Hi Jamie! This is Cali's husband, I just wanted to give you some advice from the chiropractic side of things. Before I get started, I wanted to state that I agree with a lot of the things that Nitnylyin1 wrote, and I really dont want to start any kind of arguments. Most chiropractors have specific adjustments that target the disc itself, and can help give the disc more room so that it doesn't interfere with the nerves as much. It will also help to improve the motion between the vertebra that are attached to the discs, and help to prevent the problem from getting worse in the future. I agree that surgery should be a last resort, and only after you have exhausted all of your other (more natural, less invasive) options. Physical therapy can also help to give you a lot of relief, as well as the anti-inflammatory medication. I disagree with the heating pad though, as it will bring inflammatory cells into the area which can increase muscle spasm and increase pain. Heat can also cause inflammation in the joints, which will decrease motion and increase irritation on the nerve. I would instead try ice for the next few weeks. Put it directly over the area for 20 minutes every hour. The ice will help remove the inflammatory cells from the area, and help the muscles to relax. I would also argue about the expense of chiropractic vs other options. You can start to feel relief immediately with proper chiropractic care, and be nearly symptom free after 6-12 visits. I know this because I've seen it before in patients I've treated. I personally charge $50 per adjustment, so with chiropractic you'd be looking at 300-600 dollars. I also work with people that cant afford the care that they need. I trade people for paintings or other hobbies that they like to do, set up payment plans, and just give away free care. I know that most chiropractors will also work with you to get you the care that you need for the price you can afford to pay. One warning about chiropractors however. There are MANY different techniques, so sometimes it is hard to find a chiropractor doing the techniques that would work for you. Call ahead and ask about the techniques that the doctor favors, and what they normally do for your condition. Shop around, and make sure that you find somebody that you can work with. Are there different positions that you can put your body in that give you any relief? Sometimes bending backwards will take pressure off of the nerve and give a lot of relief. See if bending in any direction increases or decreases your pain and symptoms down the legs. Hope that this helps, and if you need anything else, let me know! Dr. Tony Hey J, Ain't my DH cute as a Dr. Haha. I also wanted to add that my sis worked for a Chiro in the colony so if you need recommendations for Chiro's near you I could probably find some for you. We're also headed to Dallas for Christmas even though that's really far away we could meet for drinks and talk. My hubby can't treat you obviously not being licensed in Texas. I wanted to reinforce that drugs just mask the symptoms and don't treat the main cause. And yes chiro takes a few visits but so does any other doctor you go too. Even pt. And for cost my DH gives adjustments to this lady and she's painting a huge mountain scene for our house which I'm excited. And another lady does massages. So I'm sure you can find a chiro that will trade. I hope the pain stops soon and you can find something that helps. If you need anything else feel free to pm me. I get it straight to my phone so I can help anytime of the day. And DH just said if you want to call and talk with him you're more than welcome to pm me. Cali -
So I tried to get them to pose together to show the size difference like suggested, but they don't like to cooperate. So this is good as I could get. Maybe when they get along better I'll get a better shot. And him laying next to my laptop. If you lay my iPhone on my laptop it goes halfway up so thats what I meant by big as my cell phone. But I guess an iPhone is a little bigger than say a Razr. As for names. Right now his name is Little S&^#. But we're thinking of Cai or Kai or Ceean which is like Kee-in. But I'm still looking.

I officially would recommend a chiro. Not just because my husband is one. But because they are great at pain from herniated disks. I can ask him in a bit to explain it better for you. (We're making cider from our apple trees) So he's a bit busy. But seriously. My old boss had 3 herniated disks. He didn't listen to anyone and went and got surgery and now his pain is worse than it began with. Which sadly is very common with that kind of surgery. He's now on Codeine and its not helping his pain b/c he's taken everything and it's stopped working. But in a little bit I'll have my DH come and explain how they help with disk problems. Sorry you're going through it. It does suck! -
My DH finally decided he was ready to have another cat. (If you didn't see my other post a while ago we had our one kitten die suddenly). Our cat has become needy and clingy without his brother so we thought he could use a playmate. So meet our new baby. And yet again we can't think of a name. Our other cat is Loki. I surprised my DH with a bow with Bronco colors! Btw the pics make him look big. He's about the size of a cell phone. Super small way smaller than our hands.

So we passed our deadline. I thought I'd start the discussion thread. I hope everyone's done!

If you really want to give it a go find a local class until you know exactly what you are doing. You will get the poses right and there is less risk of injury and also believe it or not you push yourself harder. Its better than the gym for you thats for sure Thanks for the tips. I actually use to work in a gym for four years and became good friends with the Yoga instructor. She was great. So I actually know the poses (most of them) and she taught me some great tips. I don't have the time, I wish I did or the money to go to Yoga classes which is why I got the DVD's so I can do it when I have the time. And the great thing about my husband is he adjusts me (he's a chiropractor) before I do Yoga so I'm moving the joints and muscles that I have problems with. So I don't sustain any new injuries. YAY!

Haha...So funny I also love it! Thanks for sharing!
