  1. Hopefully, I'll have some good pics when I come back at the end of February. We are doing a private reception at the plantation with about 50 guests w/ DJ.

I haven't really seen too many of the plantation. However, I think Mo had 1 or two in her review but you couldn't really get the whole picture. I'm also having a private reception at the plantation for about 50. I'll have pics when I return in February.

Do you know how many people it holds? any pics? I'm having a private reception at the Plantation too for around 50 guests. I'll definetely have pics for you when I get back. If I can just figure out how to post them! We are going to head to the disco after...
  4. I had my reception off the resort at Evita's restaurant. The Plantation has plenty of room it's just that a lot of areas in the restaurant are narrow so think of longer tables lined up rather than anything side by side. Hey Mo - did you see an area at the top level of the Plantation for the DJ & dance area? I'm having the DJ there for 4 hours so I hope there is room to dance. Chandlyn told me there was.
  5. Super cute!! What's the difference in prices between the two places??
  6. Thanks for the pics Mo!! I'm having my reception at the top of the Plantation Restaurant and you can kinda see some of it - thanks!! If anyone has any more of the plantation please let me know!!

I couldn't understand many of the (HEAVILY accented) things he said, and at one point, it sounded like he said, "your love is endless...like the grapes" and you could see the confusion on my face while he kept repeating it, until then he motioned to the sea behind him and said, "you can hear them now" and I realized he was saying "waves." Also, we requested a non-denominational ceremony, and he did a LOT of LONG praying, in which you can see Michael and I getting antsy and giving each other glances. Then I got the giggles because when it was the "repeat after me" part, neither one of us monkeys could resist saying our vows in heavily accented English. I mean, a little bit of them. I'm sure someone has some great pictures of my new brother-in-law who decided to fall off the wagon after 12 years of sobriety the day before our wedding, proceeded to be wasted the entire day, broke two chairs at the welcome dinner, stuck his head in my boobs when he was hugging me goodbye, and took off his clothes at the outside bar while laying across some tables. He was escorted out by hotel security and THEN was MIA for the 10:00 ceremony the next day...good thing he wasn't the best man or anything. Also, my cousin was so wasted the entire time, that he came in to my welcome dinner, backed up to me doing a booty dance, and sang at the top of his lungs "Oh yeah! Big booty hos!" Good times, my wedding. Good times. OMG - that is absolutely hilarious!!!!
  8. Yeah, the one that David's gave me is pretty thin and it also has a cardboard type torso/boob thing inside the dress to keep it's form. It just feels real flimsy when I carry it.

They gave me a tracking # so I think I'm set! Here is the requirements from the Wedding Packages by Destination. Honeymoon Holidays. Thanks!! I'm going to get this going this weekend!!
  10. FI's mom got us toasting flutes when she was in Ireland so we are bringing those. I don't think I'll be bringing a cake set though. I'm sure they have something to cut it with! Too much stuff!

  12. Congrats on getting your official wedding certificate. Also, the DW TA sounds like a great opportunity!!

So, there is a total of 6 notarized sheets?
  14. Hey Ladies, Where did all of you get your garment bag that you are transporting your wedding dress in? I have the one that the bridal shop gave me but it's really thin - Suggestions?

Hopefully we are going next weekend to look!
  18. Thanks for all the good tips!! I'll probably try on both the white gold and platinum like everyone suggested. Since I'd like to have half of it diamonds you probably won't even tell. I'll wait & see!
  19. My engagement ring is platinum. Do I have to get a platinum wedding band too? Pros & cons My ring is a solitaire with a princess cut diamond & a thicker band. I want to get a diamond or half diamond band. Any suggestions??
  20. Lindsay - Congrats & Welcome!!!!

Should I bring something to play the music If you want to play your own cd's during the ceremony, Chandlyn has a cd player so you don't have to bring one!
