  1. Soooo sorry to hear that you're going through all of this crap! I know how that can feel! Life is full of black and white lines and this may just be a black one for you! Just think, a white one is just around the corner! I'm the eternal optimist, can you tell? Feel free to vent since that's what we're here for! I also came close to wanting to cancel everything at some points during our planning since we had many obsticles as well; Family-in-law issues, my parents financial problems, friends that backed out at the last minute (although for a legitimate reason of death in the family). But, when the time came to go and celebrate, it was the best time ever for everyone and we wouldnt not have changed it at all! I think you and FI need to sit down and figure out if it's what the two of you want right now! I know it's hard but, try to put aside EVERYONE else and just think of the two of you. Can you do it? Can you pull it off financially in this diffucult time? If the answer is yes, then no one else matters and those who really want to be there, will be. If the answer is no, you may want to reschedule or just do something small at home and then go on a fantastic honeymoon with just the 2 of you where you won't need to worry about anyone else's input! Good luck and feel free to vent! We're here to listen

You never know, Hannah might decide to make an appearance before the 5th
  3. I work in Princeton and it's really snowing outside my window:) it's not sticking though It was a mix of rain and big snow flakes in Horsham, PA (where I live) when I got up this morning. You should have seen my husband; like a kid on Christmas morning. I told him it's his anniversary present! He loves winter as do I but I really dont like the mix. If it's going to snow, it should just snow, no rain please! LOL I do love looking outside the window right now, I have to admit!
  4. Oh my! Drama, drama. Just glad to hear Jay is ok! As the other girls said, you will look back on this and laugh!!! LOL Good luck today! We're all thinking of you!
  5. Most studios should offer a wedding package deal. It still winds up being something like $60-$70 per lesson but, you can usually get a discount by buying a package or more than one lesson at a time. I dont really know any studios in Cali since I'm from the East Coast, sorry I agree that getting "him" to agree to dance lessons is very exciting. I've been dancing and competing for some time now and the only way I was able to get hubby to take a dance lesson with me was for the wedding dance Good luck and keep us posted:)
  6. My rings are platinum and I've had my E-Ring for 4 years now. I can't say that I use the hand sanitized a 10000 times a day but, about 5-10 and haven't notices any effect on my rings. Actually, it's the first time I hear anything like that
  7. I totally understand where you're comming from and would have reacted the same exact way. Probably even worse since I tend to say everything that's on my mind. We had somewhat of a similar situation with my in-laws acting if they weren't even part of the group. Mind you, this was a very small and tight group of 16. It was even to the point that they would pick a place on the beach as far away from us as possible. My husband was really hurt by it and thankfully, a fried of ours (and this is my speculation) talked to his brother and him and his wife started spending more time with us but for his dad (for whom we paid in full by the way) made minimal effort to spend time with us. When him and his girlfriend actually joined us for dinner, they acted as if they were not happy to be there while everyone else was having a good time. If this was my family acting this way, I would have thrown a fit and told them exactly how I feel. Being that this was my husband's family, he said very little and what little hits he made, were brushed off! I'm sorry for being so long winded but, I do agree with the fact that she acted immaturely and you need to clear the air with her (preferably camly) and decide if you really want someone that will ditch you for any guy at any moment as a BF! I've known plenty of girls like that in my time and I'm telling you from experience, they're not worth the effort! Good luck! and keep us posted.
  8. The girl that does my nails said that it's from trauma. Like hitting your finger somewhere.
  9. Congrats Martha!!!! I know I already posted in your C-Section thread but, I just realized that Noah's birthday will be shared by my wedding anniversary! I'll be thinking of you on Tuesday!!!! Can't wait to meet the little dude!
  10. Really glad to hear that the two of you are working it out!
  11. Hey Martha, I personally dont have any children but, a very close friend of mine had her little girl via a semi-emergency C-Section. She was in labor most of the day and just couldn't push her out so her doctor decided on a C-Section last minute. She says it was great because (and these are her words) her cooch stayed in tact! LOL She's a tropper and was "running" around by the time she got home 5 days later and said that she loved the morphine drip while at the hospital. When I asked her if she would have her second naturally, given the choice, she said: NO Way. She said that a scheduled C-Section would be the only way the would deliver again. You dont have to wake up in the middle of the night with contractions or worry that you will go into labor at work or worse and your chooch stays in tact! LOL I hope this brings your mind at ease at least a little bit and we all can't wait to meet Noah!!!
  12. Congrats Jill!!!! Way to go! Someone, please make me go to the gym!!!!! This week has been impossible, if it's not one thing, it's another! My friend promised to drag me out of bed Sunday morning to go to a spin class. We'll see how that goes:)
  13. YEI!!!! Congratulations!!!! dont worry about the other offers, if the house is meant to be yours, you'll get it no matter what!!!!! I'm a firm believer in that! Good luck and let us know what happens!!!

My hubby has been saying for a while that we need to get a world map and put pins into places we've gone to give a better idea where to go next:)
  16. I just realized that I did not send my weight in this week! Oh my god! The week just got away from me! I actually weighted myself on Wed and then never sent the pic to Ann! I am soooo sorry!!! It's just been crazy at work; I've been getting home by 7pm at the earliest and just crash afterword! Need to get myself together!!!!
  17. Man am I glad that Suede and Joe did not make it to the final!!!! I still think that Jarell should have been there instead of Kenley! I just dont like her stuff! Maybe because it's not at all my style! I was really torn between Korto and Leanne since they were both fantastic with very different approaches. Leanne was very innovative while Korto truly understands a woman's body! I would absolutely wear everything she made and could actually pull it off being a curvy woman that I am! I love this show!
  18. I haven't been exercising at all since getting back from vaca (except an occasional walk with doggie) and I totally thought that I gained. Turns out I lost a whopping 1lb LOL I guess it's better than nothing. I really need to get my butt in gear and to the gym!!!!!!
  19. I dont know why but, it makes me sad too! I was really rooting for them!
  20. Yes! My BF stole my idea of a destination wedding and got married a year before I did in Riviera Maya at the Riu Palace Mexico. It was loads of fun and showed then FI and I that we absolutely want a destination wedding. Hers was sort'of a test run:)
  21. I couldnt really think of anything else to add since I agree with everything the girls have said up until now but, then I realized something. For people who dont have or like pets, it's very difficult to undertand that your pet is your child! I think culture may be a part of it but, not all of it. I had a situation where my husband referred to our dog as his daughter (which we always do as I'm sure do all other pet parents:) and got a dirty look and a speech from his brother, a new human father (who actually is an animal lover!) on how pets are not children! Well, to my amazement, my husband let him have it!!!! He's usually the diplomat and I'm the one to say exactly what I'm thinking but, he sure did me proud that time. I think sometimes, you just need to explain to people how much your pet actually means to you. It may be a foreign concept to the other person. I dito on the statements that you need a very serious sit down with FI to explain just how important your kitty is to you and if he still doesn't get it or at least respect it then .............. it's your call! Good luck and keep us posted!
  22. Look like you had a great time! I agree, the Melting pot is great for groups! Every time we went, I would come out with my pants open and unable to breath! LOL Did you go to the one on Cheltenham ave?
