Married Ladies and Long-Time Members...Check in Here
Bisha replied to ErinB's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
I've been trying to chime in on this thread all week and stupid work computer was just not cooperating! So, married life is great!!!! It hadn't been too different from engaged life for us since we've been together 10 years and engaged/living together for 4 of them. Things do feel a little different, it a GREAT way, now that we're expecting the little addition Our little man is due May 30th and we coudln't be happier! I absolutely agree with all the girls who said that you want to wait! We were getting pressure from all around and until both of us were good and ready, we weren't giving in. -

And along the lines of baby kicks, my husband finally agreed to try and feel the baby kick, and she walloped him a good one! So now he touches my belly constantly. It's so cute because he was SO anti belly before. And then last night he was trying to feel the baby and she was NOT moving (very sleepy apparently). Well, I ate dinner and five minutes later there was the aerobics class action. But this time I pulled up my shirt and looked... AH! That was hilarious! My stomach looked like a popcorn popping machine! It was so cool! Now i just sit here and stare at my stomach! So antiproductive, but cool all at the same time! Awww! How cute! My little one is definitely making up for yesterday! Keeps sticking his head out! LOL

I laught at my reaction now but at the time, nothing but very scary and bad thoughts would enter my mind! It's quite the drive from my work to the hospital too so I had waaaayyyy too much time to think about it! It was very reassuring that as soon as we stepped into the maternity triage area, they put the monitor on and the baby's heartbeat was perfect! I'm liking this hospital more and more:)

Congrats Kat! and welcome to the Mommy thread! So, we had a little scare yesterday. Baby G was all nice and active Sunday night and then really lethargic on Monday and no movement (that I could feel) all day yesterday. At lunch, I drank a 16oz bottle of cold orange juice and kept poking at him and still nothing! So I started freaking out a little and decided to call the doc. After he told me that they're waiting for me at the hospital to get checked out, I REALLY started freaking out!!! Well, I'm happy to report that all is well and he's been kicking up a storm today! I felt kind'of silly for how freaked out I got (soooo not like me!) but, glad we went and saw that all is well. Seems like the main cause for me not feeling him is that he's been head down this whole time and is now breach, in addition to my anterior placenta.

Thank you all of your input! Sarah, your pics are gorgeous. I actually showed DH your pictures as an example of what I would want! Cattie, Thanks so much for the info. I live in Horsham but I work in Princeton. I'm not sure at all where Red Bank is. Would you mind forwarding on her info?

We hired the DJ during our wedding (back in November '07) and were happy we did! No one had to worry about or mess with the iPod and we could just relax and party. Since DH is also a DJ, he got on and played for a little bit too. It's a personal choice and you have to decide if you want to spend the $ and not worry about the music or if you don't mind having someone in charge of the iPod, I know of girls who did that as well and had no issues. Good luck with your planning!

Hello ladies! I keep going back and forth on whether or not I want to have maternity pics done. I talked to hubby about it over the weekend and he doesn't seem to care either way. The bigger issue is that I don't really have a photog I feel I could trust. There is a girl whose work I like (she took our wedding pics for the AHC) but, she's friends with someone I wouldn't want seeing those pics and it would constantly be on my mind I would love nothing more than to go to Cancun and have Erik take the shots (he was our wedding photogs and I love love love his work) but, that's obviously not happening! or I keep wishing I lived somewhere close to Tammy Basically, I could just use some suggestions/direction on the topic. Any ideas?

Congrats to to the new mommies and the new mommies-to-be! Checking back in after a crazy and weird week. We had a snow storm on Monday (about 10 inches) and 70 degrees on Saturday ! Sometimes I hate living in this area! Came down with a cold on Tuesday/Wednesday and made the mistake of going back to work on Thursday. Needless to say, I was working from home Friday and it's still lingering Otherwise, doing well and GROWING!!! I was sooo worried about being small and not showing in the beginning but, as of about 2-3 weeks ago, there's no doubt; I look totally preggers and loving it! LOL and so is hubby! He things pregnant women are something extraordinary and the fact that I'm pregnant is just icing on the cake! About baby movement! Mine's been having parties up in there. He keeps sticking out random body parts and mostly on my right side! He was pretty quiet as we were getting into bed last night so DH puts his ear to the belly and asks baby to "kick daddy in the ear." Lo and behold, that's exactly what happened!!! We both had this weird smile on our faces; can he really hear us! LOL It's awesome and super weird all at the same time!!!!

Hello ladies! How's everyone doing? I had my repeat u/s this morning and was very pleasantly surprised when the doc switched to 4d!!! Hubby and I both were absolutely thrilled to see him. He's sooooo cute! I'll try to post pics. Placenta moved up and they're no longer concerned about it. Baby G is head down (as he was at the 20week u/s) with his feet right up at my ribs and weighing in at 2lb 9 oz; doc said not too small, not too large, just right. lol I also got the Rh shot today. Haven't gotten a shot in the butt since I was about 7 LOL

Thanks girls! I'm finally proud of my bump because there actually is one! Up until about a week and a half ago everyone would say that i just look like I had a big lunch! LOL Kelly, you're not alone!!! I used to get that all the time too! I would actually cross my legs before I sneezed not to pee myself. DH noticed me doing that once and I had to explain to him why I was doing it! He was laughing hysterically LOL Somehow, it doesn't happen as often now!!! ?

I'm REALLY excited for that... however going another two months is going to be brutal!! Cute bump, by the way! I cannot believe how great you look! Here is my bump, but I think this was at 17 weeks... Wow!! You're brave!! I have a lot of admiration for people who either dont want to find out or doing something like what you're doing!!! I could never do that; waaaaaayyyyyy too impatient!!! I was counting down the moments to my anatomy scan and kept talking to the belly asking him to "spread 'em!!!!" once we're there!!! LOL I had such a huge fear of not being able to find out! Both my brother and sister wouldn't show and I was mortified of having the same fate as my parents! LOL Thank you for the complement!!! You look great as well! Such a tiny bump:) How far along are you now? (hint hint: you dont have a ticker!)

I just realized we haven't shared bump photos!!!!! I'll start Here's mine from Saturday at 26 weeks. I FINALLY popped Now belly walks in the room before me!

Every once in a while I think I feel the baby, so hopefully that will start to become more obvious. otherwise we have our big ultrasound on Monday! Woo Hoo!!! Exciting stuff! I'm guessing you want to find out who you're having?? Dont worry, you'll feel your baby more and more and before you know it, you'll be talking to your tummy asking him or her to calm down! I just found myself telling him "no parties allowed in mommies stomach!" LOL Our repeat u/s is Monday as well and also get the Rh shot (b/c I'm Rh- and hubby is Rh+). Totally excited to see him again and see how much he's grown and to find out if my placenta decided to make a move up further away from my cervix

Hey there Mrs. Martin! Glad to hear all is well with you! I just found out yesterday that I passed the glucose test with flying colors! 106!!! Yeii!!!! I was soo happy to hear that, especially considering how much sweets I've been eating lately Other than that, all is well. I've been feeling a lot more movement in the past few days. He was kicking sooo hard on Sunday; made me yelp and yesterday he kicked my ribs for the first time. I told him mommies ribs are off limits! LOL And today he's been soooo active all morning! I guess I should get used to it; third trimester starts for me on Saturday (can you believe it??) and that's what it's all about, getting your butt kicked from the inside! LOL How's everyone else?

Congrats on the girl Angel! Have a great wedding!!! We can't wait to hear all about it!

Hello ladies! As you can tell from my siggy, I'm no longer part of this club but, my best friend is. Her and hubby have been TTCing for almost a year now. She got off the pill and they started trying about 3 months later. After several unsucesfull cycles and then a period that wouldn't start for 4 months, she went to the doc and found out she hasn't been ovulating, at all! Long story short, she's now on Clomid and actually got a positive ovulation on the pee test for the first time last month and we thought she was preggers only to find out she's not this past Sat. She's really a truper and staying positive and I'm trying to support her every way I can. I know it's tough for her and hubby, especially knowing that we'll have our little one in May and the road is still unknown for them I have to say that I read through this entire post and have a ton of useful info to bring back to her. I did have a question for Calia. Do you have a conception yoga tape that you do or an actual class you go to?

How soon after your wedding did you get pregnant?
Bisha replied to August2010Bride's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
We got married after 9.5 yrs of dating and a 3 yr engagement and didn't have any plans for children at first. Well, our wedding was in October and I got the "urge" in April to get off the pill (DH was not opposed lol) and got pregnant in September:) I agree with other girls who say that your education and financial stability have to come first, especially considering how young your are. You'll be glad you did! -
VOIP - Anyone currently using it or looking into it?
Bisha replied to ~Melissa~'s topic in Chit Chat Corner!
We've been using Vonage for 4 years now and never had a regular phone line. A few of our friends have the same and love it. You do have to have a high speed internet connection for it to work properly though. -
This program only works if you accept the invite to be connected and turn it on in you phone. AND, your phone has to have the capability to be located (ie a smart phone with a data connection).
