  1. I can't believe she would book her wedding a week after you are having a DW - what a BEYOTCH!!!! I'm pulling for you - don't let them get to you - in the end they will be glad they are there with you or you will glad they are not there to drag you both down!

  3. one more pic: the Philly girls chipped in and got Heidi a Spa Gift Card so she can go and take some time for herself to relax a little bit - this is her opening it!

You're making me feel alive again. I know I seemed 'fine' tonight, but honestly, this is the first time I really smiled & laughed for a few weeks. I needed it! Thanks again, I *heart* you all very much and look forward to our next get together! ~Heidi You're welcome! It was really great to meet everyone and put a face to the (screen)name. Enjoy your massage and try to keep smiling!
  5. Heidi you are quick! Here are some more pics from tonight: group photo - maybe a little brighter? Heidi and her GIANT margarita! Mo, Heidi and Carly

Dear Christa, You have had a very difficult week with the kid, drug test, mortage, job stuff, DH attitude, fighting, driving, etc. DH is lucky you are not sitting on the sofa watching Jerry Springer, drinkinging straight Rum and laughing at yourself. Please make sure to enjoy every sip of rum and coke and pace yourself. Alyssa
  7. do the deed, f@*k, have sex, make love, whatever you want to call it? Both Trisha's got me thinking about this and what is "normal" from the fab 'off your chest' thread.
  8. since you are getting married at such a big resort (Sandals) can you get in touch with their corporate office and set up a payment account? BTW - i am confused as to why guests are paying you anyway
  9. Heidi - I am so sorry - this is so unfair. I will be thinking about you and Reggie tonight.
  10. FI and I have been considering the Princeville for part of our honeymoon - i keep hearing great things about it!

It hurts me so much to talk to your wife, my mother, and hear the sadness in her voice. It breaks my heart that you spend all your money on designer jeans, shots at the bar, and perfect strangers as if you were a college frat boy. I hate that she can't leave you because she doesn't have enough money to leave you. And worst of all, I hate that I can’t protect her from you. I want you to know that because of you, I question my ability to be loyal and true to my future husband almost daily. I am so afraid that I will wake up one day and decide he isn’t enough and that I need someone else to make me feel loved and complete, the way you felt when you cheated on my mother. I tell myself I could never hurt anyone I love so very much, but then I remember how you did… I am after all, your daughter. Most of all, I wish you would just make up your mind and leave if that's what you want to do so that we can move on with our lives. I love you so very much, but you have broken my heart and I won't let you do that to my little sister. You have done enough damage. It's time to either wake up and be a man, husband, and father... or leave us all alone. My mother deserves better. My sisters deserve better. I deserve better. Your daughter, Galit galit - that gave me the chills - i am glad you got it out!

Good companies will recognize talent & want to scoop them up even if they aren't advertising for a position at the time. (see Ask The Headhunter® - very good advice on marketing yourself). If neither of those options work for you, then go with a widely known, reputable firm. I don't know what your area of specialty is...but Robert Half International represents finance & accounting professionals, MRI is a management staffing company (entry level to exec) & they have offices all over the US. This is a good guide to how to work with recruiters & lists several firms & their area of specialty : Executive Search Firms: The Riley Guide Good luck! this is great stuff - you really are an expert at this!!! I'm not sure what salary range you are in, but theladders.com charges a fee but you will have access to companies with positions that pay $100K +. If you belong to any associations they sometimes have job boards with positions in your field. Niche job boards are usually better to look at than monster, careerbuilder, etc. We post our jobs to monster/careerbuilder, but also to quirks.com and cpgjoblist.com amongst others since those are sites that target people in our industry. Thank you for the info! I have been going back and forth about theladders.com b/c the fees are pretty high - it is good to know that it is worth it! Thanks ladies!

She said she "looped back" with the employer to let them know I am declining their offer. They were "extremely disappointed." Apparently she explained to them that I had an issue with their policies, especially because I was not briefed on any of this & was subjected to an in depth physical, on their property. It made me extremely uncomfortable. Their response was that any candidate looking for a job should expect to undergo random drug testing at any company. They really believe this! My recruiter told the hiring manager that was not the case. The response was "well at any of the big companies you should expect it." I love my recruiter for this...she said "no, I work with Microsoft, Expedia, T-Mobile, Amazon etc & none of them do random testing." Whatever. The whole point to me is that I should have been completely informed of EVERYTHING they were going to subject me to. Period. Bottom line, even though the company wants to blame the recruiter, when I showed up on Monday the hiring manager should have welcomed me & explained the whole process to me. Bottom line, she did none of that. She met me at the front desk & said "let's go." She should have picked up on the fact that I didn't know what the hell was going on when I asked questions like "where are we going? What do you mean your drawing blood? I thought this was just a drug screen." She did not respond to any of that. She's an idiot & I don't want to work for her. END RANT Good for you!!! you definitely did the right thing - anytime you listen to your intuition you know you are on a better track. this was just a red flag that there would be more to come...

  16. I have very seriously been considering leaving my business - the emotional drama is becoming too much and I am completely bored out of mind. I have worked for myself for long time and kind of don't know where to start. The idea of getting a paycheck is becoming increasingly attractive - I have a lot of business contacts that I could network in but I would like to begin my inquisition privately. Can anyone recommend good recruiters / head hunters (i guess firms?) / job boards besides the obvious monster.com? Oh yeah, Mid-Atlantic!
  17. THIS APPEARED ON CRAIG'S LIST (NYC) What am I doing wrong? Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush. I'm a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I'm articulate and classy. I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all. Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. 250,000 won't get me to central park west. I know a woman in my yoga class who was married to an investment banker and lives in Tribeca, and she's not as pretty as I am, nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level? Here are my questions specifically: - Where do you single rich men hang out? Give me specifics- bars, restaurants, gyms -What are you looking for in a mate? Be honest guys, you won't hurt my feelings -Is there an age range I should be targeting (I'm 25)? - Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the upper east side so plain? I've seen really 'plain jane' boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I've seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What's the story there? - Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out? - How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE ONLY Please hold your insults - I'm putting myself out there in an honest way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I'm being up front about it. I wouldn't be searching for these kind of guys if I wasn't able to match them - in looks, culture, sophistication, and keeping a nice home and hearth. it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests PostingID: 432279810 THE ANSWER Dear Pers-431649184: I read your posting with great interest and have thought meaningfully about your dilemma. I offer the following analysis of your predicament. Firstly, I'm not wasting your time, I qualify as a guy who fits your bill; that is I make more than $500K per year. That said here's how I see it. Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a crappy business deal. Here's why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. But here's the rub, your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity...in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful! So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you! So in Wall Street terms, we would call you a trading position, not a buy and hold...hence the rub...marriage. It doesn't make good business sense to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease. In case you think I'm being cruel, I would say the following. If my money were to go away, so would you, so when your beauty fades I need an out. It's as simple as that. So a deal that makes sense is dating, not marriage. Separately, I was taught early in my career about efficient markets. So, I wonder why a girl as "articulate, classy and spectacularly beautiful" as you has been unable to find your sugar daddy. I find it hard to believe that if you are as gorgeous as you say you are that the $500K hasn't found you, if not only for a tryout. By the way, you could always find a way to make your own money and then we wouldn't need to have this difficult conversation. With all that said, I must say you're going about it the right way. Classic "pump and dump." I hope this is helpful, and if you want to enter into some sort of lease, let me know.

BUT now I know you guys did in fact purchase it, OMG I want to cry. :-( Not only does the painting hold meaning to us, but knowing that you girls got it for us, makes it one of the best gifts I have ever gotten, I feel so blessed to be apart of this forum and I feel that I made some great friendships on here. We without question have THE BEST group of people on this forum..... I LOVE YOU GUYS.... Tammy - you are so welcome!!! I think that Kim thought we wanted it to be a surprise but I emailed her last night and told her it wasn't a surprise. You have enough emotional stuff going on to be hanging on the hook waiting to see who bought it! and thank you for the pawprint - so cute!
