  1. i know i feel like i should just try not to GAIN any weight, keep working out and enjoy - then get back on the food /no drinking tip for the new year- i need to stop beating myself up!!!
  2. FI and I are planning on making Mini Cupcakes on Xmas Eve to bring with us to his mom's house on Christmas...now i just need a good recipe - i am thinking about making one batch of vanilla and one batch of chocolate -- any good recipes out there? tips?
  3. i was doing so great - working out, eating healthy, not drinking too much, slowly losing weight UNTIL the holidays came -- i feel like a sausage! We have been non-stop with the social holiday events - 2 to 3 per week since Thanksgiving! I know it's pretty much an excuse but i want to enjoy the events and have some wine and cheese and whatever else and not be the one in the corner with the club soda and carrots! i feel like my willpower as been eaten up by the holiday party bug. should i just say f--k it and enjoy the next 2 weeks or stop being lazy and get my ass in the gym? is anyone else's diet out the window?

  5. Hi Toni! Welcome & Congrats from another Philly Girl there are SO many Jamaica brides on here - browse through the Jamaica sub sections and use the Search button (3rd from the right on the top bar) and you will find so much info about a lot of those places. Good Luck with your planning. And PS - there are a bunch of brides on here who started planning before they had the ring

  8. Wow! Awesome pictures - that looked like a hell of a party
  9. wow i don't think you are being a baby - that is your brother! there is no reason he shouldn't be able to come without her - if she demands that he doesn't go to his own sister's wedding b/c she doesn't want to take an infant i think she is really selfish!
  10. OMG i didn't read what everyone else wrote but knowing the history with your wicked beeeaaattttcchh boss TAKE THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats - that is awesome xoxoxo
  11. Drea - i am in for the Valentine's Day but i would suggest 2 things: 1. maybe do a $15 or $20 gift 2. that we use elfster (not that you didn't do an AMAZING job) but it is so easy to use and if you are the 'organizer' you can still have total control if someone doesn't send their gift you can look up who had them, hence any necessary consequences. One of the main reasons i love elfster is that you can set up a wishlist, modify it, put direct links, etc BUT you can send anonymous questions to your secret santa or gift person. EX. i had Melissa and really wanted to buy her these fuzzy slippers but she never put her size - with Elfster i could ask her anonymously what size feet she had, etc. i have used it for 3 secret santa's this holiday and everyone LOVES it!!!
  12. i vote for the steel drum - that is so amazing in person and unique - you will not regret it, especially if you are only doing it for the ceremony - it is cheaper and will really create a differential between the ceremony and the reception!
  13. Juan Carlos, i just bawled - that was amazing! she is so gorgeous - everything was beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. i voted give it to a hobbit - HAHA! seriously, put it in safety deposit box or somewhere else safe!
  15. they are very cute but i would be concerned about the 'key ring' - that is going to be really difficult to attach to a suitcase!
  16. definitely Lizz - let us know what happens!!! PS - we are all Cesar Milan obsessed too - it definitely works!

  20. Tammy! that is so great about your kitty! i thought i had posted before about Dawn but searched and couldn't find it so i figured i would repost. Mabel told Dawn today that she is still sick of living in the city (she said this a couple years ago) and that she really wants us to move into a bigger house with a yard! i called FI and he was like you both are conspiring HAHA Quote: Originally Posted by host ok, my story.... my siamese kitty started freaking out when i was about due and hid in the closet and would not come out...once the baby arrived it was worse. he hid in the closet and would not come out to use the litter box or even eat. he is usually meticulously groomed but looked like a crazy homeless cat and smelled like urine and there were hard poops on the stairs (they were dry like tanbark)...i felt so bad for him and took him to the vet where they prescribed me kitty prozac...but it didnt help. he stayed in the closet for 6 weeks. then i remembered alyssa's post so i was at my wits end so i contacted dawn....i did not tell her what was going on just that my cat had some health issues that i was concerned about. she "spoke" to max and he told her he was afraid of the baby. she told him that there was nothing to be afraid of. she asked why he didnt want to use the litterbox and he told her that it hurt when he used it (he was so dehydrated) but she told him that it wasnt the litter box that was hurting him, it was because he was not drinking enough water. she asked him what he needed me to do to get better and he said 1. put a bowl of water upstairs and 2. give him the cheap cat food that i used to feed him...i told him i would but he needed to try to get better also... within an hour he came downstairs and now even comes up to the baby...even my parents have noticed a difference because he is even friendlier than before the baby came.
  21. For all you dog and animal lovers don't think i am totally looney! i wanted to share Dawn Allen with you - a friend of ours told us about her about 3 or 4 years ago and we were like, "yeah, whatever, that is so not true, blah, blah, blah." then out of curiousity we scheduled an appointment a couple months after we rescued Mabel, our rottweiler. well, FI and I were blown away - Dawn communicated with Mabel and told us true things that were IMPOSSIBLE for her to know, a lot of them and then things that helped us understand her better. we really couldn't believe it. we have recommended Dawn to a bunch of animal owners and almost all have had great expereiences. i had a follow up call with her this morning to check in with Mabel about the possibility of us bringing another Rottweiler into the house and when i got off i thought of all of you guys and how many have pets and are animal lovers. so here is Dawn's info if anyone is interested... New Page 1
  22. Trisha - i have been thinking about you and am so relieved to hear that you and Travis were able to make a decision that is right for you both and support each other. i am here if you need me! xoxo
