I think it is tradition that ladies go first--a throw back to the days of the brides family paying. I WISH!

I just came across this site today :Cudge.net - Wedding Items Amazing! You can buy take out-boxes ( i need them for our ott bags) and other great things at really low prices.

I guess everyone really differs on this one so you should just do what feels best for you. We were going to have an engagement party this summer but then decided to switch it to a pre-wedding reception. A great deal of my family can't make it to the wedding so we wanted to have something here before we left and can't afford to host 2 huge parties. We are inviting some people who can't make the trip or who are in the extended family. My fiancé comes from a family of about 300 and we only know a fraction of them! we didn't want to skip the party this summer as we really want everyone to meet so Tahoe will be more fun. BTW our party is going to be "a Midsummers afternoon dream" and it will be outside at a park--so fun I hope you can find a solution that works for you. I know I have never been offended when friends ( not all that close) only invite me to the dance after the reception. I think that is the equivalent of this issue--no big deal.

Shea- Have you girls set a date yet? I would like to "skinny-up" some before doing it so early fall is better for me.

Does anyone know of a good photographer in Minnesota who does BD photos? I keep finding creepy photographers or ones that just seem to prissy. I am looking for something very tasteful. Thanks!

We both typed up some basic information about ourselves as some of my friends/family don't know him in great detail and they don't know me all that well. Hi ladies! We went to Red Wing, MN to celebrate my birthday this past weekend and we got this great card when they came to turn down our beds! I thought it was so cute! This would be great in OOT bags. it looks pretty easy to make and you could just tuck it in your bag to let everyone know what the weather will be like. LOVE IT! Hope the picture or link work! Great ideas! We decided on Tahoe because it is beautiful! Lots of friend and family have been there and said it was nice. We found a company that will handle everything that day for a very good price. Up until a month ago the plan was to get married here in MN but I got overwhelmed with having to ask everyone for help with getting things done that day (we have a limited budget so paying people wasn't in the cards) that I wanted someone else to do it! My Fiance had been pushing the wedding in that direction and I finally realized it was a great idea. Now I am very happy to be doing it in Tahoe and so very glad I found this group because I sure would have missed a few details!

Thanks ladies! I will check into both of those. I just found out that the Inn we want to use won't let us have any sort of gathering in our cabin so we will have to look elsewhere.

Wow that was a wordy header So I am looking for ideas for OOT bag ( never heard that term until I came here) for our Tahoe Wedding. Since it isn't going to be at a beach and isn't a warmer time of year ( spring), a lot of the ideas I am finding won't work. The only thing I know for sure that I can/will do would be a travel candle. I will be using just plain white bags as I need to pack light and save money. I am not sure of how many people will come. I will have a better idea once we get closer. THANKS!

We are getting married in Lake Tahoe. Any suggstions on where to stay? We are getting married on the south end and would like to stay there. We prefer a resort or cabin type situation as we will be inviting guests over after the service (45+)

I would love some information on Lake Tahoe if anyone has some. I have never been but the brochure looks nice We are using a service to plan it all and I am also wondering if anyone has ever stayed here Inn At Heavenly Bed & Breakfast and Heavenly Tahoe Cabins Lake Tahoe California
