  1. Thanks Ladies! I was a bit worried about spending the money on a dress that I wasn't able to get on but am really excited now that I've ordered it!
  2. We're planning on offering water and champagne.
  3. I think your hair, makeup and pics look great! You have to feel comfortable with pics but rest assured, the pics do not look posed.
  4. We may do the sunset cruise as our welcome/rehearsal dinner all-in-one. We're planning a bachelor/bachelorette night out the day prior (Thursday) and may do ATV or zip line tour the Sunday or Monday after the wedding. I forgot who said it but I keep thinking about fun activities for the younger crowd and keep forgetting about the older crowd so really want to do the sunset cruise as I think this w/b enjoyable for all ages. FYI...the only event we'll host is the welcome/rehearsal dinner. We'll, most likely, negotiate some type of group rate for the other activities depending on how may people express interest.
  5. Hi Janet, What style was your solo guitarist? Who did you use? I know you said he was a big hit! We want to find someone who plays a mix of romance and flamenco style (something like a Gipsy Kings guitarist!). As for which one to choose, I think you probably can't go wrong. Either way it will provide some romance and ambience and I think your guests will like it. (And this is coming from a cheapskate myself )
  6. Ah, finally made a decision. I decided to be foolish and go with my heart (not my wallet!) and buy the dress I wanted. I guess an after-party dress is off the list but I'm ok with that....check it out! In case you're wondering where the extra set of hands came from (check out my pic)--the sample size is a size 6 so it wouldn't even go over my hips so the bridal consultant had to hold the dress over me so that I could get a sense of how it would look when it fits! alvina valenta pics.pdf
  7. Thanks Morgan! Yes, I found wedorama through the Knot so am taking advantage of the discount! Quote: Originally Posted by mlb36 Lisa- If you do go with wedorama, be sure to get the discounted price through the knot. sorry if someone already said that. I didn't reread all the messages. Michelle- Your website is great. I really like the welcome message. I've been struggling to write something similar for my front page. Mind if I adapt yours for my intro?
  8. Thanks for the great tips, Natasha! We do not have our website up and I really want to get information out ASAP! Evite is a good option, however, I'm wondering if people will be confused as to where to RSVP...the evite or the website--I like the multiple RSVP features wedorama offers? I think I'm just going to send out an email with the gen'l travel info (ie., get your passports NOW!) travel/hotel info and add updates to activities and such later, as you recommend. I haven't checked wedorama but I'm assuming I can print out a newsletter for those invitees who really do not have easy access to a computer (I guess the phone works as well!) Thanks again! Feel free to let people know that you will have more information about things to do while in Cabo and things you will be doing (spa day, golf outing, etc.) as you get closer. We sent that information out via email as well as included in our formal invitations.
  9. Nice!!!! Congratulations on booking the site. Now the fun begins! Happy Planning!
  10. Welcome and congratulations! Sounds very exciting!
  11. Nice website ladies! You've included so much info (I'm totally copying the sections you all have created ;-)) I think I'm going to go with wedorama.com.
  12. Welcome to the forum!
  13. We're going with the Spanish guitar for cocktail hour because my FI hates mariachi music. He'd kill me if I booked mariachis. It's slightly cheaper as well.
  14. We stayed at the Westin when we vacationed in PV a couple of years ago and loved the fact that a cool, hip club was on our property. We ended up there one night and it was great, however, on nights when we wanted to sleep you could hear the music pounding until 3am - 4am. A bit annoying, but definitely a beutiful spot if anyone is looking for a club night.

Well only my sister used that function and Know more people know that they are going.... Anyway, in order to tell people about the website, I just sent a mass email and said that for information on our wedding date, please visit this website. I think I am also going to send invites in the next month or so because for a DW i don't see the point in waiting until the traditional like 2-3 mo. before. By that time they should have probably already booked their trip. Thanks Michelle! What service did you use to create your website?

So I got all the way home and decided I should go for a run instead since I really need to workout. I got about a mile into it and it started to absolutely downpour. (I live in Washington, so I should have known better) I felt like I was running with an extra 5 pounds because I was so soaked. Needless to say, when I got home I was not in a good mood. I yelled at my FI for something...can't even remember now, then attacked the jar of peanut butter with a spoon....dipped the peanut butter into a box of cereal and went to town like I hadn't eaten in days. Why in gods name do I do this? Please someone tell me you get mad/angry/sad/something....and eat odd things in horrid quantities. Sometimes I think I'm nuts! Freakin' hilarious! I do this ALL the time. I have really lame excuses for not walking into the gym...my favorite is standing outside the gym ready to go in and realizing that the foam from my headset is starting to wear down so I do not want to have my ears get chaffed so I better go to Target instead and buy a new pair of earphones and then going down the food aisle and getting snacks and CD's...oh yeah, the reason I'm at Target....Oh well, too late to go to the gym!!!! Self-sabotage!! I did make it to kickboxing today and PLAN to run tomorrow (my least favorite thing to do).
  17. That's a freaking blingaty, bling bling dream ring! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
  18. What do you guys think about sending out our preliminary wedding information in an email. I do not have time to get any STD's together and we're only 4 months away so I figured I'd get going on the formal invites and send them out 3 months in advance. What should I include in the email: the date (duh!), travel info (air/hotel), planned activities. I'm going to work on a wedding website this weekend and if I can get it going will include the link and include all of the info listed above in the website. Did anyone else take this route? I'd like to include some verbiage asking people to let me know if they will attend so that we can plan accordingly. Anyone have any suggestions?
  19. Dang, you girls are good. I work at Adobe, have all of the design products at my fingertips but struggle with something as simple as re-sizing a photo. Another reminder that I need to sign up for a Photoshop class.
  20. Um, yeah! My FI and daughter both think I'm crazy staying up all hours of the night but I'm sure they're both happy I have an outlet--otherwise, I'd be running everything by them ten times over!
  21. Try Sunset da Mona Lisa restaurant for dinner. It's beautiful and everyone talks about how fabulous the food is there.
  22. I love the idea of giving the WC a gift from Tiffany. Thanks for posting this question...I'm interested to hear what others advise for other vendors.
  23. Hi Michelle, We're thinking about heading up the Tuesday/Wednesday before our Saturday wedding. We'll hang with guests until Monday and have Tuesday - Friday to ourselves. I want to get home so that we have the weekend to recuperate b-4 that nasty Monday back at work rolls around.
  24. Welcome to the forum! This is the best site! You've narrowed it down to two beautiful locations! You can't go wrong with either location. Happy Planning!
  25. Welcome to the site and Congratulations on the engagement! You've picked a perfect location for your DW! Tons of info on this site to help you narrow down your venue search. Happy Planning!
