  1. Everyone on this board seems to love her! I may need check in with her. Thanks Angela!
  2. Hi Ladies, What are you all paying for your WC/WP? It looks like a lot of you are going with Maye. I've seen some pricing in the $1k - $2k price range; is this accurate and, if so, what type of services are you receiving--full planning (ie, finding and coordinating rehearsal, helping with more than day of) or day of only. Just curioius to find out if the services you're receiving compare to my WP whose fee is $2,750. Thanks!! Lisa

As you can see from the group policy, they have different location fees (or minimum consumption) for the terraces where the ceremony will be held. And if you want to have a private reception at the Salon, there is a minimum consumption fee of $5,000 exclusive of 10% tax and 18% service charge. At the Salon you can have amplified music like DJ. OUtside on the terraces you can only have harpist, guitarist, no amplified music. There is construction but I was told that by November there should be no heavy machinery. And in our contract they have included that they will stop the construction on the day of our wedding. Emma is wonderful to work with. She used to be wedding coordinator at ONe and ONly Palmilla so she is also a great resource for vendors. They do require you to have a wedding coordinator since Emma is not acting as a wedding coordinator at Sunset, she is the Events Sales Manager. The restaurant is open from 5 to 10 pm. If you extend before 5 or after 10 there is a minimal charge which is really for the staff. Hope this helps. Hi Jessica, My FI and I went on a scouting trip last month and fell in love with Sunset (minus the construction). We're working with our WP and wanted to do a buyout but can't justify the cost for 45-50 people. My WP was not clear on the minimum consumption and site fees. Site fees for the terrace and the salon are waived if you meet the minimum consumption, right? For your beverage, are you going to do by consumption or are you going to do one of the hourly pp bar packages? Any advice you could send my way w/b most appreciated? BTW, have you found a wedding coordinator, yet?

If you have koozies printed, there's usually a screen setup charge. What's the water cooler bottle for bar that you have listed? The water at Dreams is included. That's one thing we loved when visiting.. we had a drink and a water every time so we weren't dehydrated. You can totally do this.. I worked with other girls budget numbers to come up with my budget, then decided what I had to have and what I could live without. It's easy to go crazy here. We didn't count our stay so that made the budgeting that much easier. Would one of you be able to email me your budget (I do not have enough points to open up your attachments)? I'm so bummed...my FI and I made a scouting trip last month and did not visit Dreams because they did not have any Saturday dates available. I'm open to other days so we're looking into it, again, as it seems to be the most cost effective way to get the most bang for our buck. We LOVE Sunset da Mona Lisa but are attempting to stick within a $25k budget for 50 people and it looks like it may not be possible at the Sunset.
  5. Try calling the hotel direct and asking for Jessica or Marina. I just called and was able to get right through, check dates, and receive their wedding packet info all within 15 minutes.
  6. Hi there, Just returned from Cabo from our scouting trip (really a couple of hrs ago!). We checked out Baja Cantina as a wedding rehearsal option. Definitely a fun place to be. You'll be right in the thick of things so you're guests will be guaranteed a good time. I know you're from the Bay Area; this spot reminds me of one of the nicer outdoor spots in Margaritaville (Capitola, CA). The decor is great and very well kept! Can't remember if FI took pics of this spot; if so I'll include in a trip report!
  7. Thanks for the help, ladies! I'll be sure to report back after we've made our scouting trip.
  8. Hi Ladies, This is my 1st posting. I'm in the beginning phases of planning a DW in Cabo. Engaged last summer in Italy and have been planning since Sept '06 but have yet to pick a location/date. Have switched from local (SF bay area) to Italy to Hawaii to, finally, Cabo!! (I'm sure most of you can relate Anyways, FI and I are leaving on Sunday for a scouting trip and to meet with the WP we may use--Amy Abbott of Fiestas Los Cabos, a.k.a. Earth, Sea, Sky Vacations--any feedback on Amy? She was referred by a Knottie bride whose wedding looked fabulous! Any advice anyone could provide w/b much appreciated, ie., what to look for while we're down there, ?'s to ask WP and hotel staff, etc. Stats: We're looking into late Oct/early Nov '07 timeframe with app. 50-60 guests. We're looking at resorts and private villas.
