I just realized there was a blog button! My god where have I been! Anyway figured I'd give it a shot and get all this dress crap off my chest. I HATE wedding dresses! I procrastinated shopping for wedding dresses for a long time because I really wanted to loose some much needed weight before I started. I didn't want to ruin the whole experience by looking at myself in the mirror and thinking "my god, lose some weight girl!" So in December I finally decided I would go. My mom had been pressuring me to go shopping soon, and I figured I might as well get it out of the way. I figured that it would be really easy process for me. I've never had a problem with shopping for dresses in the past.... or making decisions. Fast forward present time. I cannot decide on a dress to save my life. I have been dress shopping for 3 months, going on 4. I have been to 6 different bridal salons, most of them more than once. I think my problem begins with the fact that I like very simple things. Most wedding dresses have a lot of detail and bling, and that is just not me. I like detail, but in a subtle way. And I find that most wedding dresses are too flashy for my style. So that is part of my problem. The other part, is not that I can't find dresses I like - I have found numerous dresses - it's that I can't find a dress that I like 100%. Maybe I'm expecting too much, and just want that "feeling" that brides describe when they first tried on the dress they knew would be theirs. The first thing I do when I try it on, is examine myself in the mirror. You could say I have a critial eye or am picky. Either way, I just really wish one dress would bring me to tears and I wouldn't ever want to take it off. In total, I've been wedding dress shopping for.... 11ish hours. And what have I got to show for it? Crapola. Oh! My other problem is that I will be in love with a dress for a few days after I try it on. But then I will be OCD on the dress for a few days - ie "should I buy it?! I want it, but is it the one?" - and somewhere along the line, I think myself out of love with the dress. How does that happen? As my wedding date aproaches, and every bridal salon tells me I should order soon, I am feeling very pressured and very much like a dressless bride.

i love those exact things about the second dress. It was kinda hard to judge how it would actually look if it fit me. The lace part on the boobs only covered half of mine, so it was a little off. the part i loved the most about the second dress is that it's got a fuller bottom, but it is very very light and not heavy at all.

still haven't had that "feeling" people talk about, so I continue my dress search. I found a few more I like. Thoughts? sorry for the flash in the mirror pics... those are both really beautiful! I feel your pain on the wedding band issue. i have looked probably 10-15 times and can't find something that "fits" with the stlye and shape, width of my e ring. The other day I said "man! if i had known it would have been this hard i would have looked for a ring that had a matching wedding band" (i helped pick out some rings i liked before we were engaged)

i'm still the same "thing" from the last - event planner - but now do it on a whole different level. No more planning corporate meetings and trainings. Now I get to plan all of the decor, activities, entertainment, etc for the people that plan the technical parts pretty sweet transition if i may say so myself

ok girls. I have been obsessing over dresses the past week. So I decided that since I couldn't make a decision that I should go out and try on a bunch of different style dresses and narrow the style down. To do this I went to Davids as they have a good selection of dresses in every size and I figured I'd figure out which style I wanted. I wasn't really expecting to find anything - as I went there with my friend once for her wedding and didn't have luck. Anyway, I tried on a ton of dresses... and loved this one! So here's another dress to throw into the mix So what do you think? I'm thinking this may be it.. I'm not overly dramatic and don't really think I'm the girl that goes "OMG this is THE DRESS" but I did dance around in this one.. which was a first

man if this story is true, that SUCKS big time. I plan on taking my ring (granted not 25K but still very special to me) to mexico with me and wearing it the whole time. This ring will never step foot into a hotel security box; ever.

thanks everyone for all of your opinions! I'm OBSESSED with these dresses the past few days. I wake up and go to bed thinking about the darn things. This week I am going to take pictures of me in the Adele dress and will post as soon as I get home!

she sounds like the rain on a lot of parades. i'm trashing my dress and couldn't be more pumped about it! what more, is that both of my parents are pumped about it too

I would love to try them both and get pics for you, but the only dress I can try on and get a picture of is the Adele dress... which I'll try to do this week. But the Watters dress I can only find in MN... so I'd have to fly back to try it on... Stupid me and not brining a camera with me to the shops!

Wow, I was suprised to see so many responses so fast!! So... I really like them both, but the $ thing keeps popping up. Dress 2 - the Adele dress - is 2900 bucks! Over twice the cost of the Watters dress which is 1200.... however, my mom and dad are buying my dress, and they said i should pick which ever one I like best, not considering the money. But it's really hard to push that aside!!!

So I went to get measured this weekend and planned on ordering the Watters dress I found before I moved. I decided to try on some dresses just for the heck of it... and what do you know, I loved one of them. Here's the thing. They are two toally different styles of dresses, and one is twice the price of the other - soooo... which one do you like? Also, dress one would have a white sash tied in the back. And dress two - the picture doesn't show all the detail.

I always vote DJ!!!! While a live band is cool, I think it's more fun to hear songs that you really love in their origional state. Plus with a DJ people are always making requests and I love that!

i think it's probably for the best. it's much better to be able to enjoy the months leading up to you wedding rather than spend your entire time engaged in a ball of stress. We've been engaged almost a year and our wedding is another 8 months away. I love how relaxed everything is!
