  1. oh man! Now I'm going to have to win the lottery to do fancy things to my name!!

  3. LMAO I love it. A 4 day retreat and you are "required" to write a letter? It's stuff like that that irkes me. No matter how old you are, your life is not your own when it comes to family. Example: One of my best friends is having a bbq this weekend. It's been planned for months. Chris's aunt comes in unexpectedly from Edmonton and we are "required" to go to a last minute get together? WTF? I dont' think so! That is something for aunts and uncles as far as I'm concerned, and I have plans, so too bad so sad!
  4. I heard that there was only 1 wedding a day there at OB/OS anyway, so that was a relief to me. I don't want it to seem like an assembly line, ya know? So far, we've just chosen the ceremony location (gazebo) and that we want our dinner at LaBrasa. I've pretty much done nothing else!! HAHA!! This is going to be a simple laid back affair (don't they all start out that way?!), because we just don't have the money to go all crazy with all the extras. We have a friend that *might* come to the wedding, if he does, we will pay him to do our pictures, otherwise, we will use the resort photog. I've seen their pictures, and they do a great job, at a reasonable price. Flowers are going to be silk, will decide once I choose my dress. I'm having my dress made by a friend of mine, so no real rush on that either. So far, much easier than the first wedding I planned when I was 22 and writing my honours thesis at the same time. LMAO.
  5. be careful that you will still be able to take advantage of wedding/honeymoon packages when you go away though. If you are legally married you might not get the same deals. That's the only warning I can think of. I will have to produce my marriage certificate to the wedding coordinator to show we *just* got married in order to still get the *free* wedding.
  6. Yay that there's a couple of Ocean Blue girls!! I can't wait to see your pics Dragonfly!!!! AAAAAHHH!!! You must be freakin by now!!
  7. IMO, our wedding day is 1 day out of 7 that they will be going away for. If they can afford to bring their kids with them, there is no way I can expect them to leave their kids at home. Most people that have kids are leaving them home, but my close girlfriend is bringing her daughter who will be 4. Didn't expect a flower girl, but hey, she's going to be there, so why not? that is the only kiddie we are expecting.
  8. no problems!! We have to get it done before, so the coordinator sees the certificate and we still get the benefits of the weddingmoon specials. She does the ceremony herself (no need for the judge then) and she says the guests will not know the difference.
  9. We are doin it before hand and if anybody asks, we are going to say that we are just taking care of paperwork before we go. It's the truth, and otherwise not their business!
  10. I agree with this whole post Natasha. Quote: Originally Posted by NATASHA I agree with what was said earlier. I will do everything that I can to fill it so you're not on the hook, but I need to know no later than XXX date so there isn't any confusion as to whether you do or don't want the room and so that there is enough time to try to find someone to pay for it." You don't want her to waffle back and forth on it only to say three months out that she doesn't want it and you won't have time to fill it because I seriously doubt she'll be kind enough to pay for it.
  11. I was married before so the price is even higher (more docs to translate etc.). We are getting the civil ceremony out of the way at home, then it's the symbolic wedding in the DR.
  12. FREAK!!! Can I fit in your suitcase?
  13. Do you have to pay for the room if she doesn't take it? If so, I'd give her a deadline if you want to give the room you set aside for her to someone else. No point in losing money, or if someone else really wants to go.
  14. Very pretty!! It looks great on you! Count down is on, eh?! Not much longer now!!! WOOT!

  17. I didn't find this one hard at all
  18. I've been using Clearasil toner for ever, but now my face isn't breaking out as much as it did and I want to switch to a regular toner, but don't know where to start. I don't want anything too harsh (alcohol-y) and I want it to smell good. What do you gals use? And do you use it on its own or with a regime?

In all honesty after 3 months of researching, starting in Mexico and ending up in DR . OB was the most reasonable price & had it all from good food, to updated look, to big beach, great activities and lots of bars/restaurants to choose from. But the best was the price point - we started looking at resorts $2800 per person and now our guests are only going to be paying $1275. Very happy I was. My TA just got back from Ocean Blue and she raved about it. She said it was so much better than she ever imagined. Good luck TVT with your choice and planning. Cheers, Sabrina You must have Pauline too then
  20. Ok, for it not to include brokerage/duty fees is rediculous!! AND they reserve the right to charge you MORE?? That's messed up!! I would either take these girls up on their offer to ship to them, or forget it alltogether.
  21. probably duty/brokerage fee is included there, or it better be! LOL. Either way, the cards are very very cute, but I wouldn't pay that. I'd email them and say for $XXX shipping I'll buy the product. What's to lose? They say no and it's done. I have found from experience, shipping is somewhere companies make alot of money. They might reduce to gain your business.
  22. oh, also because it has the golf course, lots of our friends who are going down there golf.
