  1. I posted this in another thread, but all of my guests appreciated the bandaids I put in their oot bags. Everyone had blisters ont thier feet by the end of the trip, so they really helped!

I also paid for the ivory jute runner (instead of the free red one) and I think that was 40.00. I also paid for the chairs and slips with bows- I think they were 9.00 each, and I had pink rose petals on the runner (I don't think they were on the pics) and the bag was 100.00. I used some of those petals on the tables on our cocktail reception tables with the candles etc. I had bought some wedge shoes to wear for the ceremony, but they ended up breaking after I walked in them for 10 minutes! So, I ended up walking barefoot, which was fine. I honestly think it would have been a little diffucult trying to walk in the shoes I had anyways...
  3. Congrats Bre.... Everything looks beautiful. I can't believe you have your pics already. I won't see mine for another week or so! You reception dinner looked great-It makes me wish I went with the private one!

The ceremony looked beautiful-- everything just looks perfect-- so happy for you guys! We are currently booked for a Casita-- but I think a swim-up is different than just a regular- right? Thanks again for the pictures-- going to show the girls at work now- hehe.... Yes, there are standard lounge casitas.... they are the same room, just no pool and they are not connected to the pool.
  5. The 50.00 included transportation to the marina. It was nice because 28 of us went so the bus was private, and so was the catamaran!

  7. We checked with the tours desk (funjet) and they quoted us 55.00 per person. I then dealt with Alex from Lomas at the K Activites, and he got us a "deal" . It was 50.00 per person. He said that included 2 beers and chips and salsa at the restaurant (at Maraoma), but no drinking on the Catamaran. But, it turned out they poured us glasses of beer on the catamaran. Then we bought our drinks to go with the free chips and salsa. The boat was nice. I never went downstairs to the bathroom because I always get sea sick below deck. I guess I never even looked or asked. It was only a 3 hour tour though, so you should be fine. Also, I don't know if there was a place to sit below deck either. It was definately a good time! The water was beautiful.... It wasn't the best reef I ever snorkeled, but we saw plenty of fish, and it was great for first timers!
  8. No big deal, it is just that my weekends have been filling up quickly lately! And, we should plan a date so it actually happens!
  9. Ok, here are a few pics. I didn't have a lot of time, and have never hosted pics on s site like photobucket, so I just uploaded a few to Word. I will be posting more in the next couple of days! 10. I heard they weren't reliable either. Fortunately all of our guests arrived on the same bus so we greeted them in the lobby and distributed the bags there.
  11. that is what we got for the cake too. We had strawberry cake and vanilla frosting.... we had 40 guests, and the standard one that fed 20-30 was plenty. I bet only 1/3 actually ate the cake. They were more interested in the drinks!
  12. no, I have not been able to. I do not have any pro pics, but I will post some others hopefully today or this weekend for sure! I have been trying to answer ?'s for people, but have not had the time to do a review yet!
  13. nope, and they trimmed them so they were about the size of a recipe card.

I don't know that I've found this option yet? Can you do a non-food option for a private event? How much does that cost? What we did was the cocktail party with appetizers, and I think it was 14.00 per person. We alos had "pinto" the donkey, and he was 150.00, and then rented speakers for our ipod which was 250.00. I am sure you can have a private event without the apps.... the portions of food are really small at the resort, so we thought they would be a good idea.
  15. I am southwest of the cities... so I am going to have a drive either way. I guess Minneapolis is closer for me though!
  16. I don't even know if anyone received room upgrades... I think our guests we relatively close. There were 40 of them, and they all stayed in the standard rooms, so they were as close as they could be I guess. The resort is huge though!
  17. I just want to post a suggestion.... that I haven't really seen yet... When you arrive at the resort, ask the reception desk to print a group list that has all the guests room numbers on it- enough for you to hand out to everyone or put it in their oot bags. It was really nice because they already had all of our guest names under the Selly Wedding. We did this AFTER all of our guests arrived, and it came in really handy! I just wish we would have done this right away and stuck them in their oot bags. I noticed people using their "maraca pens" and "sandal notepads" (both from Oriental Trading) to write down room numbers- but I think that it would have been nice for them to have right away. I of course told everyone as they scattered to go get one from the desk, but they all were pretty much doing their own thing, so not everyone got one. Anyways, I hope this helps!
  18. It is an outdoor bar- the one with swings. I would suggest that one, or the Beach Bar which is centrally located next to Jo Jo's. Guacamayas is the bar to go to at night because they have the live music and the shows! I guess it would maybe depend on your ceremony location?
  19. I am not the most active girl on this forum, but would love to meet all of you! Keep me posted!
  20. A few suggestions about the OOT bags.. coming from me and my guests: I don't recommend spending money on things such as razors, toothbrushes, deodorant, lotion etc... Unless you give them their bags before they leave. The main reason is that if your guests are leaving home for 4-7 nights, they will pack their own stuff. Sunscreen is another item... Coming from winter skin (MN), everyone in my group had already brought their own sunscreen. They were appreciative of the aloe though! Things I do recommend are the sample size advil, tums etc. And, my guests really appreciated their can coolers, umbrellas (I got these last minute because of the forecast and they came in handy the last day- $1.00 at the Dollar Tree), gum, and BANDAIDS! I recommend everyone put bandaids or blister pads in everyone's bags. EDR is a huge resort, plus there is a dress code. So, everyone was wearing heels and new sandals etc., so everyone had bandaids on their feet by the end of the trip. A couple of my guests brought their own travel mugs, and EVERYONE wished they had one. This is something I definately would do if I could do it over. Especiallly if you are staying at an AI. And, then I gave everyone a volleyball sized beach ball which worked great for playing with in the pool- they "float" in the air better than a normal vb, so it made it a little more easier to play. Some of our guest wished they would have brought underwater cameras since they were at least $20.00 where we were.... so that may be an option. I guess I just recommend buying things that you know your guests won't be bringing themselves!
  21. You know, they aren't very close... Unless we didn't know of some. We were using the ones next to Jo Jo's... so it was a bit of a walk. There could have been some closer that I wasn't aware of.
