  1. Cute ideas girls!! We're really a brilliant bunch, aren't we?! ;-)
  2. YAY!! Everything sounds like it was amazing! I'm so happy for you!! I'm SO extra excited for my friends wedding now!! Yay for Mexico!
  3. I noticed that the colors you're interested in for your bouquet are really similar to mine...thought I'd post a couple just so you could see them. This first one was taken right after the ceremony...that goofy smile I have is a mixture of happiness and relief! lol! SmugMug - steve horvath (stevehorvath) : Rachelle & David's Wedding These other pics are actually from my bridal portrait session...my mother really wanted formal bridal pics. So this was an entirely different bouquet...the main difference being that there are hydrandgeas (sp?) in this one where there are peonies in the one from the wedding. 4. I don't think it would be odd to distinguish where you and Cain are going to sit. I think that's pretty normal...obviously the bride and groom should be seated so that they're right in the middle of things. Better to mark it so guests know and aren't embarassed by being shooed away or made to move . . .or so that you guys aren't stuck in some weird position that you can't see everything etc. You could do place cards...I actually love the palm trees! Or even look into decorating your chairs or something....flowers, ribbons - even a cute little sign hung w/ ribbon that says "bride" and "groom" respectively.
  5. Ok. . .so I had to look at your dress again before I could make a decision! After careful consideration, I agree with everyone else! lol! Either #1 or #2 would be really pretty! I'm leaning a bit towards #2 because I think it somehow suits the "feel" of your dress a little more. So I guess I think #2 is the best choice as far as what goes with the dress and #1 is really pretty too...and you'd have the options w/ the number of flowers, like you said.
  6. Have fun girls!! Can't wait to hear all about it!!
  7. Great article Melissa! I hadn't really thought of using flavored syrups. I was thinking of fruit juices (oj, cranberry...maybe pomegranate), fresh fruit and probably some Chambord or something...I was kind of at a loss for how to really add some flavor and interest though....that article really had some fantastic ideas!! :-)
  8. I don't know!! I like 1 and 2 a lot..but I actually like #4 as well...I need to go look at your dress again...I'll be back! lol!!
  9. I can't believe you leave tomorrow!! You've going to have SO much fun! Can't wait to hear all about it!!
  10. Honestly, We're going to my friend's wedding in Sept. And our goal is to keep it around 2k for both of us, 4nights/5days...and it's at an AI resort. It's in PV...it would actually be cheaper for us if it were in Cancun 'cause the flight would be less expensive but, oh well! Personally, I think at least having an AI resort as an option is good, simply because people really don't have to spend much $$ once they get there if they don't want to. And I'm sure I'm biased, but I LOVE the Moon Palace! I think you guys would really like it. It's super close to the airport and big enough that once the guests are there...they don't really need to leave for anything unless they want to. Tons of options for food and stuff. On a three day stay they wouldn't have to eat at the same place twice unless they wanted to. Anyway, just babbling...my hubby and I honeymooned there and have every intention of going back sometime! ;-)
  11. Yeah! The pic looks great! It really is a cute idea! You destination girls get to do all the fun stuff...my poor little nephew just had to carry a plain old pillow! lol!
  12. Well, the pic isn't showing up for me, but I think the idea sounds really cute! :-)
  13. love it! lots of good ideas!! I LOVED the centerpieces with the jalpenos and peppers in the vases! You see that with limes and stuff all the time, but I liked the idea of using the peppers. I think they did one w/ strawberries too! :-) Cute!
  14. I think that's a super cute idea! I was trying to remember where I'd seen it. . .of course I'd seen it in the online issue and now it's not there anymore!! Anyway, I'm thinking of doing that for Monica's bridal shower. I'm going to have to price things out once we get an idea of how many people would be attending. But I was thinking of serving brunch type foods and having the champagne bar...I'm going to have to think of what to put with the chamagne though. . .hmmmmm. .. maybe I should do some experimenting... lol! Seriously though...if you get a chance, try to find that magazine to check out the pic/the way they have it set up.. gorgeous!!!
  15. I actually really like the halter/tank dress. It's really pretty but also I think it looks particularly good on you. And I love the detailing on it! It would be great to actually see it on you in the halter style...hopefully you can find it soon so you can see which you like better!
  16. We did pre-marital counseling with my childhood pastor. At first I thought it might be kind of weird since I'm not really religious. But I'm very comfortable with him and David really likes him too. Anyway, just wanted to say that religious beliefs and all that aside...it was a great experience. We really liked it a lot. We had already talked about a lot of the topics he brought up, but it was great having an outside perspective on the things that we seem to keep hashing over! ;-) I say go for it!
  17. Hey Ladies! I got a coupon in the mail from White House Black Market the other day and thought I'd share the online code they gave me. The first one is $25 off a purchase of $125 or more: 8303 The next one is $50 off a purchase of $200 or more: 8304 For anyone who might not be familiar with White/Black...You should definitely check it out! They carry black, white and other neutral colored clothes that are really cute. For those of you looking for a little dress for your rehearsal dinner or other event...they have GREAT dresses! I think I have like 3 of them! And what I love is that I tend to wear a size smaller than normal in their clothes...which makes them totally worth buying! lol! Welcome to White House | Black Market - Home Happy Shopping!
  18. I too am a fan of the "big glass of wine" remedy! lol! But serisously, if you can I would definitely reccomend getting a massage. Even if it's just 30 minutes you're away from everything, surrounded by quiet soothing sounds and for just a little while someone is focused completely on making you relax and feel good. If you don't have the time, $$ or whatever to go get a massage, lock yourself in your bathroom and take a hot bath, drink something yummy (ideally alcoholic!) light some candles and maybe even play some music to cover up sounds like the phone ringing etc. Maybe get one of those little eye pillows or gel eye mask thingys too...I find those really soothing and if you chill it first it feels really good to be in a hot bath with a cool mask on your eyes! Ok, last one...and maybe this only works for me...lol! But, I actually like to have an alone date every so often. I'll actually go to lunch somewhere that I really like or don't go to often and then I LOVE seeing a movie on my own! One of the theaters I like to go to actually has a Cheesecake Factory right next to it, so I'll get a slice of cheesecake and a coffee to go and take it in the movie with me. I hope some of our ideas help and you start feeling a little better soon!!
  19. We'll have to find out what her secret was! Although it wouldn't shock me at all to find out that her lashes are just naturally super beautiful! Darn pretty girls...lol!!
  20. Quote: Flowers die, accessories are cooler. LOL!! I think that may be the BEST thing I've ever heard!!! What a smart little cookie he is! And if that's true, that would make you a pretty lucky girl!
  21. Lol! Yeah, whenever you make your wedding budget you're always thinking of things like dress, food, drinks, flowers etc. You never think to factor in the 2k you'll inevitably spend at getting facials, tooth whitening, gym membership, tanning, hair, makeup etc etc!! lol! It seriously feels like you need a separate beauty budget just for the wedding! Never mind all the clothes you'll need... haha!
  22. Here's some info from a blog I like to read about lash extensions... Also, it's a fun blog...all kinds of beauty/fashion tips, ideas etc. Closet Therapy: Eyelash Extensions
  23. I think she may mean lash extensions. Monica is thinking about having those done as well. I haven't done a lot of research on it, but it's along the same lines as hair extensions...but for lashes! I think an average price I've heard is about $250 or so. They take a couple hours to put on but last for several weeks. That too time/cost intensive for me but I guess once you've got 'em, at least they're there for a while.
  24. Hey ladies! I saw a review on this product to make your eyelashes look longer and fuller. I haven't tried it yet...but like the product junkie I am, I plan to soon! Anyway, I thought if any of you had tried it before, I'd love to hear what you thought. Also, for those of you girls, like me, who aren't so keen on the idea of false eyelashes, this may be a good alternative. Talika Lash Extender I'll let you guys know what I think once I try it!
  25. Congratulations!! I'm SO glad you guys had a great time and enjoyed everything! We honeymooned at the Moon Palace and loved it! It is definitely an enormous resort but has lots to offer for sure. I can't wait to look at the pictures later! Now on to house hunting I guess?! Have fun!!
