  1. I think your hair and your make-up look great. I do not know you personally though, so I don't know what you normally look like, but you do look beautiful in these pictures.
  2. I can't say that I knew right away that my dress was the one either because there was another one I was also in love with. One was in Toronto and one was in NY, so I could not even try them both on in the same day. I decided because my mom and my sister came with me for both dresses and they said the one I picked flattered me more. I look a lot skinnier in the one I bought (apparently). Who could say no to that.
  3. My dress costed $830 and I am paying $225 to have it altered. So, it will be $1055 total when I am done. I personally think that is a lot of money to spend on a dress that I am wearing for 1 day (and TTD the next day), but my max was $1500 and I am below that, so I am happy. I could have found something cheaper I am sure, but I love this dress, so I did not care. I am having a few things changed, but nothing major. I think the back is important, but not the most important thing. Personally, I think if you don't love all of it, than maybe you should keep looking. $800 is a lot to spend to alter just the back of the dress, but that is just my opinion. I am not sure if that helped, but I hope it did somewhat.
  4. I am getting my dress altered elsewhere. I live in Ontario and bought a dress in Buffalo, so I had to, but I have had dresses altered at bridal salons and more often than not the did a bad and/or rush job cause they had so many dresses to alter. So, I will not go that route anymore. I asked around and am using a seamstress that was reccomended to me.

  6. I also bought mine at David's Bridal and I went home with it. I love my dress. What is your worry about David's? If you have to have your dress ordered, I agree with Ann, they usually tell you 4 to 6 months, but it comes closer to the 6 month mark. And, alterations do take a while. So, I would say you should go within the next month or 2, if you are ordering one from a bridal salon, or online.
  7. The pictures are great, we love Sol around here. It looks like everything turned out perfectly. I have a question for you, where did your husband get his suit from? That is pretty much what I am looking for for my FH to wear. Thank you for sharing.
  8. I think you should not stress yourself out with the DIY if, as you say, you don't have it in you. I like these invites, I also picked the Green and Blue (before I read what others picked). If they are in your budget and you like them, then why not. They are different and I like them as well.
  9. I hope you have a great day Laura and that all your birthday wishes come true.
  10. Some songs that I love for first dance songs, but my FH does not like any of them are: Husband and Wife - Michelle Featherstone Rest of My Life - Michelle Featherstone True Companion - Marc Cohen **Sorta Fairytale - Tori Amos*** - I am a huge Tori fan, FH said no only because then it would be all me cause everyone knows I am the fan Trying - Lifehouse I think that is all. We are still up in the air about our first dance song, but it will be none of these awesome songs.
  11. Great video. Kash, you looked unbelievable. That dress was perfect and perfect on you and worth every agonizing minute. PERFECT!! You looked stunning. Hurry and tell us what Daniel thought.
  12. Welcome Back Natalie (we think). I hope you had an amazing time and I can't wait to hear about it and see all the pictures. Congratulations.
  13. I am so glad that Maggie found her dress, and I can't wait till you post a picture of it.

  15. Is he opposed to tattoo's? My friend can not wear a ring because of his job. So, he tattooed his wife's name on his ring finger. Her name is Kim, so it was easy, but he could tattoo your initials or the wedding date or something on his finger. Chris's looks like a ring, its really cool.

I am afriad I will look like a clown cause I am shaking so much. This gives me faith that if the make-up artist there is not so good, maybe I can do my own.
  17. What do people put them in to make them stand up on the table? Or will they not stand up they just get closed when at the table? I think part of the point of the seating cards or whatever you use should look cute on the table as well, to add colour to the table. So, I love these, but how do you set them up at the table. Anyone have a creative suggestion for that?
  18. Also, just a thought, but you could make that blue line a wave. I think that would look cute, and then it should be blue and not another colour. Does that make sense?
  19. I love it, but I am wondering about the blue as a guys colour. Could you leave the blue line out or make it darker for the men? Our colours are Pink and Brown and everything we are doing for the men I am just using the brown, so they do not have to wear anything with pink on it. I am sure some of them would not mind, but I would not want them to hate something and not wear it due to the colour. Just a thought. I do love it though, I would totally wear it on a shirt if I went to your wedding.
  20. We are not paying for our attendants. Sorry, if I had a lot of money I would, but I don't. Also, I was a BM in a DW in April 2006 and I did not expect them to pay for me, nor would I have wanted them to. They need the money for the wedding and their new life. So, I told all my BM's upfront what it was going to cost and I let them decide. Also, we picked a time of year that was more affordable to our guests because we did not want people to have to pay a lot of money to come, that was the best we could do, so we did it. I really do not think any wedding party expects the B & G to pay for them.
  21. My FI thinks its great cause I can talk to you guys about wedding things and I don't have to bore him. But, he thinks I want to do more and more things (ie spend more money) because of the things I see on this site. So, he is in the middle on that one. But, my sister, who I talk to more about the site, thinks its really funny that we are all friends, I call you my friends and I talk about you guys like I have known you for years. I think there are much worse things to be doing with my time and, I would drive everyone crazy with all my questions and stories I needed to tell them if I did not have you guys. I think we all might be a little more bridezilla if we did not have each other to vent with and ask for advice. I LOVE THIS FORUM and all the amazing people on here.
  22. Good luck Amy, although I am sure you do not need it. I hope all your wedding day wishes come true. Can't wait to hear about it and see the pictures.
  23. Jason, go and marry the woman of your dreams and come back and tell us all about it. We can't wait to hear and see the pictures. Congratulations, its going to be all you ever dreamed it would be.
  24. I like the last one the best, with a new font, and can you get rid of the solid line circle? I think it would look good with a funkier font and no solid circle. That is just me though.
