  2. welcome Kelly-my original plan was to get married in Ocho Rio-let me know if I can help you or answer any questions.

  6. welcome neighbor. I think a cruise wedding will be awesome...what a great idea. Can't wait to hear more about it.
  7. Jilly, the lady I ordered my dress through at David's bridal said when it came in, if it was too big I could exchange it for the next size down. That's is my goal, I ordered a 10 but am hoping to fit in an 8
  8. The do not send specific examples at Magnet Street...make sure you get signed up on their e-mail mailing list because they will send out monthly coupons-I used this company and I loved their product. If I had any questions the lady that sent me our proof was really helpful and got back to us quickly.

I am not sure about the other resorts though. Sorry if this isn't of any help to you. -Glenda GLENDA YOU SET A DATE!!!!
  10. Anny you have been talking about having a beach ceremony and this seems to be the closest thing to it. Either way you would have been traveling. I hope it works out.
  11. Your are a "Mid-Venturer Traveler". You have an insatiable intellectual curiosity, abundant common sense, and a friendly, outgoing personality. This combination of character traits usually contributes to success in your career. You are likely to hold a senior position of responsibility in your company and will continue to advance in the future. You're also an opinion leader. Others look to you for guidance and direction on what to buy, choices to make in their lives, and the kinds of trips that they might like to take. You love to travel, especially to foreign destinations and you seek new experiences and new destinations for almost all trips you take. You enjoy being physically active on trips but unlike your pure venturer friends, you don't want to take such extreme vacations and are more likely to plan your trips—set an itinerary of places you want to visit and schedules when you will be there. You also insist on a comfortable bed at night (sleeping under the stars generally doesn't interest you), a warm shower, and meals that you can trust rather than taking a chance on native foods. You listen carefully to the unique travel tales of your friends and associates, or read heavily, to learn about the hidden, out-of-the-way places that have not yet become popular or have only recently gotten some publicity. Another name for your group is the jet-set. Your interest in what's new and what's happening leads you to be one of the first to visit destinations that seem to have a new ambience, or book a few days at a new spa or resort you read about in a travel magazine, or tour a country that until recently was closed to visitors. History holds a great fascination for many mid-venturers. But if you've seen Buckingham Palace and the Eiffel Tower, or traced Paul Revere's route in New England, you don't need to repeat the experience. Rather, you'd prefer to stop in lesser-known cities or seek out an ancient monastery or old fort that may not be listed in most guidebooks. MEDIA HABITS: Typically you read more than most—books, magazines and newspapers—and watch TV less. Consistent with your travel interests, you particularly like fact-based television shows or dramas in a historic setting, and programs that explain the workings of some of our modern marvels. You hold strong opinions about much of what you see happening in the world, especially politics, and strongly prefer commentators who agree with your views. SHOPPING: You like technology but typically you will not be the first to try out new hi-tech products. You're likely to get on the bandwagon when the new product or service has shown that it has some relevance to your daily business or home life. But you are still willing to buy these items long before they have become so popular that they have dropped dramatically in price. SPORTS:Exercise and good health habits—proper diet, some use of vitamins and supplements, and following a disciplined routine to get enough sleep and exercise, even when you travel—is likely to be part of your daily routine. Suggested trips: DOMESTIC Take a luxury pack trip through Colorado's Ute Mountain Tribal Park. Kayak around Kauai. Consider a rafting trip down the Grand Canyon, or a mule ride up and down the canyon. Take a helicopter trip on the big island of Hawaii to see sights that few others do. Drive on route 49 through the gold country of California. Snorkel or scuba dive in one of the less-popular Caribbean islands, such as Bonaire. ABROAD Scuba dive around the Bay Islands, Honduras. Drive the coast of Portugal. Take a multi-sport tour of the Netherlands. Balloon around northern Thailand. Spend a week at a dive resort in the Maldives. Check into a Dead Sea spa. Go truffle sniffing in France or Monaco. Take a gastronomic tour of Lyon. Rent a National Trust property in the English countryside. Track the footsteps of the Ottoman Empire in Turkey with a private guide. Take a cruise on a small luxury line such as Seabourn or Silversea, with customized shore excursions. Check out Malaysia's Langkawi, for its remoteness and its very comfortable accommodations. Pamper yourself at the St. Regis on Bora Bora. Explore the sights of Jaipur, India, or Kyoto, Japan. Take a luxury tour of Bhutan.
  12. Kash it seems to have worked, because they have actually called eachother and spoken like adults. Over Christmas, the three of us went to coffee (I cannot remember when my parents sat down and had a civil converstation without a lawyer present)
  13. I used to tell my parents they would have two choices when I got married, pay for two weddings or get along...and I have basically told my future in-laws that they either need to get along or they will not be there sharing the day with us. I know this seems harsh, but they have to let go of their issues for the sake of their child.

  15. you all just gave me a great idea...I should have a little wine tasting going on? I will have to see what we can work out...thanks ladies...by the way if I mentioned this to my fiance he would be totally into a cigar roller, but I would imagine combining it with a tequila tasting would help.
  16. I am having a bachelorette party/bridal shower with my girlfriends, am I supposed to send the person who is planning the event our registry cards. I hate the feeling of people thinking I am asking for gifts...

Save The Date Cards - Paradise Found If anyone is getting married on 07/07/07. They have a Theme section dedicated to that date! Theme: 07-07-07 Product: Save the Date Magnets Rebecca-that's the one we did for our original save the date...we loved the creativity of the info in the sunscreen bottle
  18. Leigh if you are doing it online, you will also get activity points for any exercise. I am really trying to lose 30 lbs before the wedding so I am trying not to use any extra points-you do not actually have to use the 35 flex points or your activity points, but they are basically your eating out points from what most of the women in my meetings have said.
  19. Sherri, My parents and I agreed that we would only supply wine and beer for everyone (well to a point, my dad says, if it runs out too bad) and then champagne for the toast...I think that is reasonable, alcohol gets so expensive and with such a small party you wouldn't want anyone to drink too much.
  20. welcome-I cannot answer your questions, but I wish you the best of luck and enjoy the forum.
  21. my fiance just got a little station for our bikes so we can ride them in the house...I tried it tonight, only got 20 minutes done. I hate riding bikes but I am trying to like it because we have great bike paths in DC and the future hubby loves it and spent a lot of money on them.
  22. (Although I saw Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams picking up a marriage license a couple of weeks ago in Brooklyn Court.) -Glenda okay back up-why was this info not posted in the gossip section...that's a big deal they got their marriage license-did they actually get married? or just get the license?
  23. I don't use cash, but I started a keep the change savings account with BofA basically they round up all your purchases to the nearest dollar and deposit the left over money to your account. They match your savings for the first three months and then give you 5% a year. So far our account has realy added up.
  24. sounds like a trip to IKEA is in store for you...they seem to have little shelving units for everything...
