  1. why are you looking to stay in Walnut Creek? there isn't really anything to see there except a mall...stay closer to SF if you want to sight see. sonoma and napa are about an hour apart, so make sure you include that in your plans. I would recommend V. Sattui winery (free tasting) its on the 29 in Napa. That is the most popular area for wine tasting. Also just down the road is Peju Province, which is beautiful and good wine. If you want to try some of the smaller family wineries, try the Silverado Trail (Mumm's sparkling wines is there). Miner winery is also very good, nice small family vineyard. As for places to stay, bed and breakfasts are always great. We had our reception at the Gaia, and while I had some problems with them (not anything to do with the rooms though), their rooms are beautiful and its pretty affordable (it's in American Canyon, which is right on the 29 but about 15-30 minutes away from the main winery area) have fun, let me know if you need more info.
  2. Kelly, you two were obviously meant for each other, what an amazing story! Congrats on your wedding I hope its all you could have ever wanted.
  3. count me out, but I only had 15, I am 9 days away, too close for me...thanks for looking into it Maria
  4. we didn't annouce our engagement, but I think a friend of mine who works in the paper in our hometown will put a wedding annoucement in for us...I didn't realize people still annouced engagements...that is so cool, you girls should post them on here for us to see! hint hint...
  5. oh how fun, I am trying to convince my dad and step-mom to do a 20 year vow renewal in 2009. My dad is retiring that year and they didn't have any pictures taken at their wedding, so what a perfect opportunity, maybe I should try for Europe too!
  6. Glenda, don't worry about me, its not something I absolutely need! don't stress at all...
  7. Okay ladies, I am struggling at what to get my little kid attendants for their wedding presents. We have the groomsmen and bridesmaids presents but still have two boys (ages 8 & 4) and three girls (ages 5, 4, & 2). I made coloring books for all the kids coming to the wedding as well as got glow sticks (my 4 year old cousin specifically requested a blue glow bracelet, after he got one for 4th of July), but I feel like I need to get something for them for being in the wedding. Thanks for your help!
  8. oh I wish my babies could be here at my wedding with me, but they will be enjoying the petsmart petshotel instead
  9. Kelly, I am so happy that your FI put his foot down, he obviously loves you a lot and his family needs to deal with all of it! I love Maria's idea about the TA, you should totally do that next time she brings up what she is giving you for free!
  10. Kash, sorry to hear about the problems with the hotel...I have been waiting to see your review, because Marci said there was a surprise at your reception...what was it?
  11. Tammy you honestly have had the worst government workers to deal with I am sorry. I changed the title of the thread for you, hope that is what you wanted.
  12. congrats Amy, I know your guests will love all the cute things you have done! can't wait to see your pics...have a blast
  13. Someone e-mailed me and for some reason its not letting me send it...I will seperate the file into a couple of files and attach it by the end of the week...
  14. oh those are really nice, I think its cute that you were laughing as he was kissing your shoulder...I do like the more natural shots too....I love your hair, how did you do that?
  15. I just changed my mind after having a panic attack in the dress (I bought it impulsively)...I think I realized it wasn't what I really wanted.
  16. we were able to get traveler's health insurance for Will since he does not have health insurance until after the wedding and honeymoon, for less than $100...and I am so glad that we did because my cousin just got back from PV and her little sister had to have an emergency appendectomy (spelling?) it cost her parents $10,000 to have this done in a mexican hospital. Their personal health insurance will reimburse most of that, however if you don't have insurance get something to cover you because you never know what could happen on vacation!
  17. I think at first Will thought I was insane and he was feeling neglected, but he actually looked around the forum the other day and was asking me questions. He knows I have really been helped out by this forum and would have been driving him crazy if I wasn't always bugging you guys. My friends however think its really weird I am on a wedding forum, but that's why you girls are my friends too! I have to have some friends who are "crazy" like me...
  18. good luck I hope it helps, I wish I would have motivated myself a long time ago, but here I am 19 days away still only lost 10 lbs total
  19. Kelly, my FI is a huge DMB fan and I am going to have to say no to crash into me because its actually about a guy stalking a girl...might be a little weird for your 1st dance. I say go for the one that you love and imagined you would dance to. My dad recently got the idea of dancing to a particular song, but in the end I had to tell him that my whole life I had dreamed of dancing to brown eyed girl with him, so moral of my story, go with the one that means the most to you
