    Newbie!!

Welcome!!! Use your time wisely! I joined the forum Oct 2006 for my July 2008 wedding and time has flown by!
  5. I meant the regular lights that come with the Mayan AND the dance floor. I just want a plain one. But Prisar said that the one provided for by the Mayan is not pretty and we should cover it with "charol" but if the one provided by the Mayan is decent looking then i don't want to pay more to cover it up.

  7. I'm not sure, however the Catholic Church in Mexico requires you to provide a legal marriage certificate or proof that there will be a legal marriage in conjunction with the Catholic ceremony.
  8. Does anyone have pictures of a wedding at the Mayan that did not use an outside WC? Priscilla suggested we pay for cover for the dance floor and extra lighting. I would like to know what the dance floor looks like with out the cover and what lighting is included with the location fee. TIA!
  9. how odd, I had a great experiance at Mon Amie, however I had no idea that their dresses were so pricey! I was reccommended by two other brides and traveled about an hour to get there. But it was the first store I went to and kind of enjoyed it. However, I knew I wasn't going to purchase a dress that day and after looking at the prices, knew I wasn't going to get my dress there.
  10. wow! you're wedding looked amazing! It needs to be on TLC - Platinum Weddings, hehe! Congrats!
  11. I am so JEALOUS!!! This past week I've had SO many nightmares about the wedding, one included getting to the Mayan and realizing that my reception was going to be held in a tiny hall which oddly resembled our kitchen here at work, lol! Please come back with lots of pics! I know Edna already did, but I can never get enough! By the way, I don't have Priscilla's number however, she emailed me a couple of weeks ago and told me she was on vaca, but I'm sure she'll be back in time to meet you.
  12. I purchased my dress at La Soie Bridal in Torrance. I tried Mon Amie (which was an amazing experiance) and Mary Me Bridal, both in Orange. But ended up purchasing my dress at LS. La Soie Bridal - Wedding, Bridal, Bridesmaid, Prom Salon
  13. We've already asked our GM however I thought this was such a great idea!!! p.s. Forget The Knot, Weddingbee has SOOOO many great ideas.. here's a link.. Weddingbee diy Quote: The very first DIY project Mr. Lovebird and I undertook together was working on how to ask our groomsmen if they would honor us by being in our wedding party. I always liked the idea of personalized water bottles, like Mrs. Firefly and Mrs. Caterpillar did, so I bounced that idea off of him and said maybe we can do beer bottles instead. After scouring the net for some bottle label images via Google Images, we settled on good old Guinness. Read more… or Read more right here… » So we started messing around with the image on Adobe but ended up using Microsoft Paint; though not as advanced, it was simpler to use and served our purpose. By using the magic wand function we filled in all the parts we wanted to change by picking the color we wanted to fill it in with. Then we personalized it by changing the year to 1982, which just so happened to be everyone’s birth year. My fiance and I met in high school and all of our groomsmen were our fellow high school classmates. And instead of the “Brewed by…†we put “Hand picked by Miss and Mr. Lovebirdâ€. We also changed the “Guinness†to “Groomsman†and added each of their individual names. Of course the groom wanted to play around with his own label and to indicate the best man, we changed the “Original†to “Premium.†We then put the image on a USB and headed to Staples to buy labels and have them printed in color. We found Avery #5264 to be the perfect fit. Then we went to the Waldbaum’s and picked up a six pack of Guinness Extra Stout. And the finished product… drumroll…. Later on that night, he had the guys over his apartment and nonchalantly handed out the beer. It didn’t take long for them to catch on. The rest is for the history books. Has anyone done something like this before? I’m interested to know what creative ways others have used to ask people to be in their wedding party.
