I would recommend budgeting $200-$300 per day for food and drinks. broken down (roughly) as follows: lunch: $50 drinks: $50 dinner: $100 after dinner/entertainment: $50 my estimate could be conservative or could be high depending on what you like to do, and how much you drink, but Cabo is pretty expensive. On our last trip there we stayed at the Westin for 4 nights. We spent about $250 per day, and we bought beer and snacks at the store, and the discount vouchers to save. So it definitely could have been more. And we did not eat at 'C' or any other super upscale restaurant. I think our most upscale meal was the Office.

Rehearsal/Welcome Dinner Questions
NABUMBAH replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
were doing a welcome dinner (location tbd) and a rehearsal dinner aboard the Adventurer through Sunrider tours. It's important to us to provide for our guests as they're traveling great distances to be with us, and we did not go the AI route. Also, we're bringing together a lot of family and friends who have never met - I have divorced parents and both parents are remarried. My fiance's family is huge, so it's a great opportunity for everyone to meet and hang out before the actual wedding. -
welcome can't wait to hear all about it!

thanks Christa

here is some info for you Sarah this is what DST used to be.... Quote: Daylight Saving Time begins for most of the United States at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of April. Time reverts to standard time at 2:00 a.m. on the last Sunday of October. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time. but now..... Quote: On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to revert the Daylight Saving Time back to the 2005 time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete

Wedding Dress Bargins???
NABUMBAH replied to SASSYGIRL's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I bought mine on ebay. It's Monique Lhuillier and I paid a little over $200. I recommend getting an idea of what you like and then looking from there. ebay, and preownedweddingdresses.com are good places to start. I am in SoCal also, and last December Saks at SouthCoast had an awesome sample sale. All of their super high-end designer gowns were 70-80% off. I came really close to buying a $10k Vera Wang gown for $2k. -
sorry for screwing you up, Christa. DST changes this year. It's usually later, hence my confusion. Are you working with a coordinator that you can ask? Because I want to believe Rosy, really I do... but I am still feeling hesitant.
-
congrats Mrs!

duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude.... here is another answer to this question - per my coordinator just a second ago: 24 Sunrise: 7:20am Sunset: 7:32pm Moonrise: 11:39am Moonset: 12:56am When I asked her to confirm, this is what she sent: The time calendar I sent you already considers the day light saving time Those are local current times for those dates. Anything else let me know Rosy wtf? so after daylight saving it does not get dark until 8?

Christa, I think it's around 6:30 per this site http://geography.about.com/gi/dynami...gaisma.com/en/ The roman numerals on the bottom represent months, and the numbers on the right represent time (in hours) so per that graph, the time change occurs the first week of April (as you have read) and so the sun will set around 6:30 for our weddings.
-
holy sh-t Christa. I was hoping that you would chime in. This is SOOOO confusing, even more so because I am trying to get my invites done and book a time slot for the mariachi and can't until I have an idea of the sunset time. I was hoping that you would chime in with some advice... Maybe I'll just stick with 5pm. If the sunset is at 6:30 then we're good. At 7:30 we're okay too... .5:30 could be problematic. how is this so hard?!?!

It looks like daylight savings time in Baja California Sur, Mexico happens the first Sunday of April. http://www.timetemperature.com/tzmx/mexico_dst.shtml Here is the website I use to determine sunset times http://www.sunrisesunset.com/custom_srss_calendar2.asp Using the above info, it looks like the sunset would be at 6:30pm on March 24, 2007. Tough question, looks like it depends on the day we "spring forward" our clocks. Might want to contact someone in Mexico to make sure. Doubt I helped...but I tried... thanks Cabobride. I found the same answer through the NOAA website today. Because we're close (time-wise) to the time change it's very difficult to figure out. People that we have spoken with in Cabo are telling us that sunset will be at 5:30... who knows! I am going to email my coordinator and ask her if she knows. thanks again!

I must sound really lame, but due to the change in daylight saving next year, and the fact that Cabo is on Mountain time I am really confused about the sunset time for our wedding. Even worse is that I have read and heard conflicting stories on when sunset will be. Some sites say 6:30, while others tell me 5:30. I am leaving for 10 days to Asia next Wednesday and really want to get my invites to the printer prior to going. I feel like a dumbass but I can't figure this out. Anyone know or have a reliable site to check it?
