  2. I finally went back to WW today to weigh in - I think I did a pretty good job so far this week which is what made my 1.4 lb GAIN not so bad considering I was on vacation in Mexico for two weeks and wasn't thinking twise about eating quesadillas, fried fish tacos, margaritas, fruit/sugar filled empanadas... etc. etc. 1.4 isn't too bad! Now I just need to lose 9.4 pounds to reach my "goal" (well my interim goal... I may reassess when I get there)
  3. In my WW meeting today there was a whole to[pic about how those huge salads at restaurants like CPK are actually worse than the burger and fries! Like there Chinese Chicken Salad has 27 points (like 1500 calories) but if you order the regular veggie lunch pizza ("light on the cheese") it only has 7 points (like 390 calories)... Just an FYI Also I finally after many many months of avoiding exercise (I have no good reason) I got ont he bike yesterday for a 1/2 hour.... finally!
  4. YAY JACKIE!!!!!!! It's your BIRTHDAY and you have a NEW HOUSE (right?) and you're the MEMBER OF THE MONTH!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!
  5. Here's mine: You are a "Centric-Venturer Traveler". You fit between Venturers and Authentics but with a leaning towards the Venturer side. Three out of ten travelers (30%) place in your group, making you one of the largest segments of travelers. You have a broad interest in travel and are more flexible and adaptable than both Authentics and Venturers, with a willingness to sample new destinations. Unlike Venturers, you prefer at least a modest selection of good hotels before you visit an area. You also favor destinations where you're sure to find food that can be trusted and an efficient transportation system. But, when over-commercialization sets in, signified by many souvenir shops, the intrusion of fast food outlets, and the diesel smell from too many tourist buses, you will move on. The great capitals of Europe have long been favorites, but some of these now seem overcrowded and far too expensive. Therefore, when you go to Europe you might visit smaller towns and enjoy leisurely drives through the countryside. And, when you go into villages, you particularly enjoy staying at quaint inns in contrast to well-known hotels. Your interest in a diverse set of destinations means you could enjoy a cruise in the Greek Isles, a car trip through gold mining ghost towns in California, or a shopping spree in New York City equally well. You will probably return to a place that you particularly like every two to four years, interspersing other new destinations in between. In some respects, you can have the most satisfying travel experiences because of your ability to absorb, and like, such different types of places. If you follow the typical pattern for your personality, you travel both independently (probably with a spouse or a friend) and occasionally take a fully escorted tour. This might include international tours and domestic to see New England's fall colors, a visit to Southern mansions, or follow historic routes as part of a tour group. Depending upon your age, the Elderhostel program is largely made up of your type. While you don't enjoy large cruise ships, you've decided that smaller cruises are more interesting than you ever thought. You especially like the fact that cruises are easy and comfortable ways to explore new places because your hotel room goes with you wherever you are and you don't have to pack and unpack every day. You don't mind flying, but you're also content to drive to your destination. And unlike many of those towards the authentic end of the scale, you sometimes fly to your destination and then rent a car so you can explore on your own. You also mix up the kinds of lodging that you use. On the same trip you might stay at a three or four star hotel, an economy/budget motel, and a B&B. MEDIA HABITS: You enjoy quite a few shows on TV, read an occasional book, and some of the popular magazines. SHOPPING: You don't like paying more for anything than you have to, so while you might be interested in newfangled technological gadgets, you won't actually purchase them until they have proven themselves in the marketplace and their prices have dropped. In general, you stick to popular brands, believing that they've earned their prominence in the marketplace on their quality and reliability. SPORTS: You participate in sports such as golf, tennis, or basketball in your spare time and when you travel you enjoy leisurely hikes and bike rides. Suggested trips: DOMESTIC * Take a tour of the national parks in the U.S., especially by driving to these destinations. * Stay at Hana Maui resort on the remote west coast of Maui. * Check into a full-service spa in Arizona or New Mexico. * Take a small, more personally guided tour of Southern plantation homes. * Fly to San Francisco, rent a car and tour Redwood National Park, the Wine Country, and the small towns north of the Bay Area. ABROAD * Take a SeaDream Yacht Club cruise from Alexandria, Egypt, to Piraeus, Greece. * Rent a car and drive around Sicily. * Check into the beachfront Canouan Island resort in the Grenadines. * Sightsee in Bangkok, Istanbul, or Shanghai. * Hike in New Zealand. * Visit the souks, bazaars, and mosques of Cairo. * Hideout at a luxury resort in the Seychelles. * Sightsee in Tokyo and nearby towns. * Book a walking safari in Zambia. * Take a historical tour of St. Petersburg and Moscow. * Snorkel in Fiji. * Take a historical tour of Pompeii. * Explore the ruins on Angkor Wat with a private guide. * Attend a music festival in Salzburg. * Take the family to an all-inclusive resort in Costa Rica
  6. I have to say that I hate the smell of cigars... I am totally NOT mentioning this idea to my FI!

  8. You guys are craxking me up! Tammy - let me start working on the new show first and maybe I can cozy up to the designer... hee hee hee... Actually my FI really wants us to be on my new show - we tried to paint our bedroom wall moss green...well it turned out flourescent sea-green instead...
  9. Water would be a very heavy thing to carry with you - If you're going to do this option I think you should just buy bottles at Costco or Mega and remove the labels (hee hee hee... just don't tell them!)
  10. I think alcohol (2 drinks) plus the toast. Some people will want beer, some will want a mixed drink, etc. etc. BUT if it starts getting too complicated than I almost say just do wine - you can always toast with wine.
  11. Sorry girls - first season - no travel shows i wish though - it would be SO fun to come out and meet you all in PERSON!
  12. OK, Ladies, as many as you may know I work on the HGTV show House Hunters. Well as of this upcoming Monday I am switching over to a new show (also for HGTV) called Color Correction (working title). Here's the schpiel if you live in Southern California and would like to have a room in your house redecorated: "Color Correction is a new show for HGTV which features our expert design team coming to the rescue of homeowners who have inadvertently created a color disaster in a room they tried to design themselves. Working with a $2000 budget that we provide, our team will redo the room with an emphasis on using color correctly — in paint colors, fabrics, furniture, rugs, curtains, accessories, etc., — all in order to create the vivid, colorful room of your dreams. To be on the show, you must live in the Los Angeles area, have a sense of adventure, be willing to pitch in to help with the work, and be open to designs that feature a lot of color. Requirements: * Be a homeowner or renter within 30 miles of our North Hollywood offices (LA zip code 91607). * Be willing to let our design team have free reign over the redecoration of the room. * Be available, for shooting purposes, for three to five days during the work week. See all the details here: Pie Town Television Productions: Color Correction - FAQs But if you're interested PM me or your application could get lost in the shuffle! PM me if you're interested!

I don't want to stress you out but I thought I would warn you. Oddly enough an acquaintance of mine owns TACA. Well her family does. They are very wealthy needless to say but the ongoing joke is that their company loses people's stuff. But hopefully you'll be lucky. -Glenda At least they know it! hee hee hee... I am so not flying TACA for my wedding! I would be pissed if any of my various items didn't show!
  15. I think you may need a table or something to connect the fireplace to the wall. That way you're sort of dividing the room without closing off light and making it feel smaller. A narrow but long table that is the same width as the fireplace would be perfect. Then you could put some sort of table covering on it to close off the lower portion... Add some plants to the table also helps give some separation without closing off the space.
  16. Jenetta - I love those dresses! I like #1 and #2 - either one would be amazing on you!
  17. Suddenly all these people we thought weren't coming and ready to buy tickets! Anyway I would just be a little careful with the "invite everyone" and hope for less routine - especially with great locations like the ones we're talking about! Anyway I agree - CABO is VERY expensive! We are not saving a dime getting married there versus Los Angeles (who knew!?!) and in fact the additional prices for flights and plane tickets are making it MORe expensive. For me I think it's worth it because I didn't want a regular wedding here at home for one day... it's la vacation too! But on that note I think there are a lot of terrific places out there besides Cabo that can be much more affordable. Marbella en la Playa is cute - we checked it out on our sight visit. But one thing about it is there are a TON of stairs all over the property so if you have any older guests or handicapped guests it would not be good for them (no elevators or anything). It's not a big resort like Dreams or Sherton or anythign but it's an older pretty charming hotel. A bunch of my friends are going to stay there during our wedding because it really is a lot more affordable. I like Tammy's idea of checking out Dreams PV - they are reviewed very highly by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine I think... The Bahamas might be a nice option too - I went to a really lovely wedding there last year. I'm not sure about thew Catholic ceremony though...

  19. I'm glad you're ok! That sucks for you and the little old guy in the prius!
  20. Ali take a picture for us once you get it so we can see how it comes out! Janet - Would I be able to use their other software to make a 15x15 or would I have to use the iPhoto plug in? I don't mind the 11 x8.5 - and I love the 50% off!
  21. Ok, I'm back on too (As of yesterday)! I go to meetings once a week and I have to say they really keep me honest!
  22. Welcome Tanya! My parent's live in STL - there's lots of good bridal shops there! I'm a Cabo bride but let me know if there's any way I can help you!
  23. We're actually doing it before/during. We're going to get all the paperwork before hand. But our friend who is marrying us will just sign it on the day. However if we were having someone else who was Mexico-based do it I think we would definitely do is before the ceremony.
  24. Cool! They also offer a 15x15 size incase people what something larger than iPhoto's max of 11 x 8.5 I may use them instead for our vacation books...
