  1. I think the RD because I feel like on the boat there's a lot more chance for overcrwding or even rocking which may interfere with the pics... BUT I would definitely assign at least one friend with a good camera and a good eye to take tons of pics on the boat too... hmmm... ok, I'm not sure... this is a tough one. Maybe the boat is better because it's so different from the wedding reception... ok, that was no help at all.

Here it is (if you're using a Mac you can hit Shift +Apple+4 and it gives you a cursor to take a picture of whatever is on your screen - something I recently learned and have enjoyed using!)
  3. #2 - but definitely WITH the sash - it shows off where your waist goes in. It also has a nice beachier feel to it.
  4. Ok, I am trying to think of something you don't know about me that's actually INTERESTING... I got nothing. I'll need to get back to ya.

Imagine how hard it was to start an entry level "real" job at half that... Oooooh! Good one! I love that you kept the 4.0!
  6. I second all of the above! I love Tlseege's wording - very cute! and I agree 100% with Tammy - you are so far ahead of the game! I will issue you one warning though - the number of people who respond 'yes' now may not be the number of people coming. Because so much can change in people's lives in over a year (i.e. babies on the way seems to be a theme) - but I think it's a great idea to have a rough count to base all your calculations on! Yay, Amy!
  7. We are also doing a cupcake tower and dessert bar. I ordered 100 cupcakes and am doing 4 different types (25 of each). Emeline at the Hilton has sourced them out for me for a very good rate ($4/cupcake? plus $135 for delivery and cake stand rental). Then we will also have tres leches cake and fruit cocktail and some sort of custard which comes with our buffet menu. I like the idea of putting the cupcakes in boxes! But there are two things to consider: 1. The time it will take (on your wedding day since you want them to be fresh) to put them in the boxes. If you're not having a lot of people then this will be easy - but if you're having 50+ then it may "eat" up a lot of your day. 2. No "cutting" of the cake if you give these out ahead of time. Though now that I think about it you guys could always just cut one cupcake to be cute! I am ALL about the cupcake idea! I love cupcakes but for some reason feel only neutral about regular cake... this seems to be a common thing in the people I know. Will Dreams or the bakery box them for you if you send the boxes and ribbon ahead of time? That would be a lot of work off your back!
  8. We're actually doing a bit of both. Our friend is actually the person who is marrying us. He's going to register online with the Universal Life Church. We will then just bring the paperwork with uws to Mexico and have him sign and date it then - the day of our wedding. We of course won't submit it until we come back. But the "marriage" date is whatever day gets written on that form.

I think the TV's were flat but they were still in a entertainment center - not hanging up - funny I guess I didn't pay that close of attention now that I think about it! Here is the list of the items we tasted: Appetizers: Quiche Lorrain, Baby shrimp tartlets & Crab meat canapes - these were all good but if I had to eliminate something from the meal it would be this - I haven't gotten the final pricing yet but I know it is going to be around $4 per piece and we were told to order enough for each person to have 3 appetizers. This adds up fast and isn't a very large amount of food for the money. Starters: 1) Mixed green salad 2) Pistachillo crusted goat cheese salad with hibiscus dressing 3) Palm heart salad with caramelized balsamic vinegar - again all were terrific and had lots of color and veggies but we ended up selecting #2 - it was different than anything we had ever had tasted before and the presentation was like something out of a magazine. Main Course: 1) Fish of the day wrapped in potato string, mushrooms and zucchini 2) Beef tenderloin filled with blue cheese and almonds 3) Spinach wrapped chicken - I would have been happy to select any of these but we are going with offering our guests a choice of #1 & #2. The children will have chicken fingers and french fries at an estimated cost of $18pp. Dessert: (We are not planning on doing a traditional wedding cake.) 1) cheesecake topped with fresh berries 2) 3 milk cake 3) churros - we are going to do the s'more station and #1 (I love cheesecake and this was very good!) Thank you Sarah for all this great info! I was debating about the canapes but honestly I agree - that they are really quite expensive so I think I'm going to skip them. By the way, are you doing a pp open bar or consumption?
  10. Also I think maybe Sarah's case may be unique - perhaps she has more reddish colors than other people. She said that her photographer had said that the photos would bring the red out in her skin... perhaps that's the reason?

It might be one step over the line hee hee hee.. what about just telling her about your efforts to avoid tan lines since you're wearing a strapless... maybe she'll make the connection. What about a self-tanner you can apply the night before wedding to untanned spots?

Lulubelle - I am so sorry to hear about your loss. That must have been so shocking and traumatic! Thank you for taking the time to share. i will say that when I started reading the thread I thought it sounded like a great idea and now I just don't think it's for me. Thank you - I know if must have been hard to post that warning for us.
  13. Photographer - Tomas Barron Price / hours hired: $1200.00/4 hours (I believe prices are now $350/hr.) Date: 06/16/07 Location - Cabo Resort: Hilton Los Cabos Website: Tomas Barron Professional Photographer and Videographer - Cabo San Lucas and Toval
  14. This is such a wonderful review to read! I am SO happy to hear that Emeline was so organized and that the food was so good! What items did you end up tasting? I don't think I'm going to make it down there before my wedding so your site visit might be the closest I get to a tasting! I know you said everything was good but was there even one thing you think we should steer clear of... if you were FORCED to to pick one? So they finished redecoratng all the rooms right? Did you love the decor? Do they have the flat screen TVs up (not that I plan on spending a ton of tiime watching TV, but hey, they're cool!). It sounds like your trip was perfect! And what a BRILLIANT idea to bring all your stuff down ahead of time! If we do end up making it down there for the wedding I'll need to remember that trick!
  15. Maybe something like these would work: Stampington & Company - Stickers from Christine Adolph
  16. Would these work? They're on eBay for .99 for 12: eBay: 12 Silver Sanddollar Charms (S400) (item 130084108426 end time Mar-04-07 16:46:26 PST) Maybe if you contact some scrapbooking places you might be able to find what you had in mind
  17. Sarah - thank goodness we're not inviting the same people to our weddings - i would be so ashamed after all your amazing DIY projects and all the extras you're doing for yuor guests - you are truly a wedding Martha Stewart... if not BETTER! On another note, who is Aylee? Is she on our board? I've heard her and her fantastic signatures mentioed before... but I am confused.
  18. Jamy - One way to sort of side-step the drink thing and also not do a strickly cash bar is to do a "welcome drink. In this way you pick a drink (let's say it's a margarita since we're in MX) and as people arrive at the location they are "welcomed" with the one specific drink. The rest is up to them! I've heard of people doing this before but I'm not entirely sure how it works. You could also limit it to one type of "signature" drink (like margaritas, mojitos... whatever's cheap!)- and anything else people want to drink is cash.... just throwing out some options to consider!
  19. Yuck swimsuits! No seriously, those swimsuits are HOT! Anny I love the second one you posted. I have had some good luck with JCrew's 2 peices int he past.. in fact I still have a bottom somewhere from liek High school! Anyway these days I am all about the tankini - I love that if I feel self-conscious I can keep the shirt down and if I want to tan my belly I can just hike it up!
