We are giving two things I like, one is a passport cover. I am picking up decal at Micheals to mongram them for everyone and also we got some blank invitation that we are going to commission a local artist to paint for us. We will frame these and give them out as our thank-you at the wedding. I like these ideas as both have to do with where we are going.

My suggestion is to buy something in the Riviera maya when you get here. Depending on how many people you are having to your wedding, carrying stuff to the wedding can be a pain. Add your dress, your shoes and your regular luggage and you will be over the wallowed weight for sure.

The hot sauce idea is great and you can do the personal labels at home and bring that with you. The marraccas are also a great idea as you can put them on the table and use that as your 'kissing' signal instead of clinking glasses.

There is a walmart and tons of craft stores in Playa Del Carmen, and though you dont want to be doing work when you are here, the wedding is work enough, you also dont want to have to lug a ton of stuff and pay a 100 cdn fee for bringing it with you.

to keep on your theme of the pearl napkin holders, why not consider doing a bag of shells, easily purchased and the organza bags can be obtained at a material story called assis so it looks great...then you keep with the beach theme, people can put the shells in various places at home and they get a great little bag...you can double this as a name placement label and you are done!

Have fun with your wedding!

No way! Although I don't love walmart here at home it'll keep me relaxed knowing that there is one where we're going, they have everything! hijacked.gif

I do like the maraccas for kissing favor idea!

  • 3 weeks later...

We are doing small OOT organza (Craft Warehouse) bags with Spanish for Dummies (Target), bandaids, ibuprofen, small inflatable beach balls (from Oriental Trading Co.) and Pepto with a welcome brochure for all of the guests when they arrive at the hotel. For the wedding, we are doing white paper fans (Oriental Trading Co.) at the ceremony and a CD with love & Mexico songs with a label we printed at home at their seats for the reception. We are bringing q extra suitcase for the favors & OOT bags but it will be empty on the way home!

Hi,

Everthing that you've listed here is very similar to what I had in my mind for my OOT bags. Where did you get the personalized mini sunscreen and lemonade packets.

I'm also looking for mini aloe vera gel (for burns) but can't seem to find any.

Any tips would be much appreciated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
