Heather-

I am in your boat a friend of mine extended me her friends/family that is the only way we are doing The Tides. but check out Royal in playa del carmen this was our first choice before we got the hook-up.

The Royal looks great and is right in town.

Let me know what you decided. Tides does have a rate of $490 plus tax right now. That was still a little steep for us though.

Happy planning

We are spending a week at the RIU Ocho Rios, Jamaica (for our wedding) then heading off to Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica for 4 nights of honeymoon time! They had some great prices (we booked directly through Couples, not our TA) and we are only paying about $1100 US for the 2 of us, all-inclusive! They have a great honeymoon package that is free and includes a half hour couples massage...I think this is what sold me, besides the location of course! lol

Here's the link so you can check it out wink.gif

We are hopefully booking ours today or tomorrow. Wedding in Acapulco, stay for a couple of days after the wedding, then either Dreams or Moon Palace (Tulum) for 7 nights, then the Tides Cancun for the last 3 nights. We are getting that $490 deal (don't think it includes a butler- but does have a private plunge pool)! Overall, we will be in Mexico for 17 nights!

I can't wait....

7 nights of just me and my hubby..... yeah.... We are planning to dive for 3 days, go cave tubing and to the waterfalls and spend a couple nights in Playa del Carmen celebrating.

Would love to know if anyone else gonna be in Playa del Carmen May 24-31st.

Happy planning
I looked at the Tides too. My friend raved about it. He is a flight attendant and travels a ton. I think you will love it. Our plan is to leave paradisus and then go to Al Cielo hotel for 3nt and then go further south to a place called Nueva vida de ramiro. The second one is an eco lodge with and not super glam but very remote and romantic and also came highly recommended. Solar powered electricity and bungalow right on the beach. I am so excited that the deposits have been wired and I am done with the honeymoon planning portion!!!!! We could not decide. France-Belize-Tulum-France-Belize-tulum. I think this will be wonderful. I'm so excited.

We are getting married at an AI in Varadero, staying there for 9 nights (4 after the wedding) and then FI and I are spending 5 nights in Havana. You don't really get 5* hotels in Cuba, not to American standards anyways, but it is considered a 5* in Cuba. We wanted something where we could see the culture together, so the hotel is right is in the Central Park, a great spot for exploring and it has a roof top pool! This is the first real vacation FI and I have ever taken so I am super excited!

They aren't but they do offer packages. YOu really should check it out. It is like a 2 hour flight from Houston. So easy yet remote.

We are going to rent scooters (this is what my friend did) to get back and forth from Playa del Carmen. I am so excited.

I know you were looking for an AI, you should check out Victoria HOuse in Belize or Royal in Playa Del Carmen. Both look amazing.

If you really want to go crazy, check out Rosewood in Rivera Maya, Wowzer

Am I going to see you todayhuh.gif

Yamille are you going to happy hour on the 23rdhuh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
