I agree too. I'm on Trip Advisor quite a bit too, that was my obsession before this website. I can't wait to hear some detailed real reviews with pictures.
Our resort is all the buzz on the Puerto Morelos forum. Everyone's excited for this place! hug2.gif

I finally received a response from Nancy. I asked her if I should be talking to someone from Lomas or just her. And she said just her. She mentioned four ceremony possibilities: Garden Gazebo, Beach Gazebo, Beach Canopy, and Sky wedding (I hadn't heard of the Garden Gazebo before). Also, I asked if I could set up a time to talk to her on the phone and when I should start planning my details, she said January. I'm suppose to send her a "reminder" email in January to start talking specifics about my wedding and reception in April. I guess that's fine, it's just so hard to learn to be patient and wait on everything!! I know it is slow in Mexico, I just need to be able to plan on how much we're going to be spending. She's always friendly, but maybe they need a couple of more Wedding Coordinators. These two seem a little overwhelmed.

P.S.- Congrats to all the new girls on here :)

Hello...is she someone in Mexico or from the states?

Ericka,

Two things...one is...how did you end up speaking with Nancy? Did Fabio put you in touch with her? My wedding is in June of 09 and I have not spoken to anyone other than Fabio. Who is Nancy? And I was wondering if Nancy can send you pics of those wedding ceremony places?

Thanks!

Shannon

I think they might have other coordinators. I have heard mention of Luis here and I want to say someone else maybe?
Does anyone know the difference between the beach canopy and the beach gazebo?
Ok, so January it is for me for details too.....

There is definitely another coordinator called Luis. I called there inquiring about something and I must say he gives many more straight answers than Nancy. Somehow after you wait weeks to hear back from Nancy, she still manages to give you an email that never answers your questions...she is extremely vague!

I have been trying to communicate that I wanted to reserve the Sky Deck for my wedding for weeks now, but she is telling me I must wait until I am closer to my wedding date to decide...how are we supposed to plan anything without understanding the location of our ceremony/ reception etc....I can wait until I get there to decide the details, but location is huge! Especially if I have to pay more money for the service..(Sky deck)

Hey Ladies, are anyone guests booking rooms on their own (not through a dedicated TA)?If so, how are you linking them to your wedding at the hotel? All of my guests are booking through my TA except for one that found a better rate online, so I requested that she be placed near the rest of the family and my TA is refusing to do that saying that they cannot gaurantee that the other vendor will uphold the room etc. Aren't a lot of guests booking on their own? This makes no sense to me. It seems like they are trying to make sure they get all the commission by forcing us to book through them.

I am using an outside photographer, Fabio said that we can use anyone as long as it's not Del Sol if they either stay three nights at the hotel or pay $500.

I am using RAFAEL IBAÑEZ

He is coming in from Monterrey, MX.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
