Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

So, now I'm starting to get a little teensy bit stressed out. I emailed Jazmin on Saturday and again on Monday night and she still hasn't gotten back to me. I put a 'read receipt' on it and it came back to me yesterady morning so I know she's read my email. Why doesn't she just respond? I had emailed her asking her to make appts for us at the spa, to change the DJ from 1 hour to 3 hours and I emailed her a bouquet picture and asked her how much it would cost (it's orchids so I wanted to know how much of a fortune it costs to get them before I commit). I just wish she would get back to me - especially so I know if I should be looking for different flowers or not.

Plus, I listed all the things we need to pay for - flowers, private dinner, dj, spa, etc - and asked what we need to pay for in cash and what can be paid for on our credit card. I want to take out cash now (since the CDN dollar is dropping) but I have no clue how much to take out.

We leave next Saturday (the 25th) - so 10 days! Should I wait for her to reply and resend the message and add Paloma in? I don't want her to think I'm going above her and going to her boss (i don't want her to be angry with me and give us bad service!) but I just want some answers.

Okay, I sent the e-mails, and I think the one to Carrie failed twice, I don't know why. JKCZ0702, I will send the e-mail to you as well... FYI, a lot of the pics of people with bouquets are like super early 90s... My friend said, what the heck?!?! Kinda funny though...

I would send another email to her and copy Paloma. Tell her that you really need these answers as you're leaving soon etc etc. I think that they're so busy that she all she would think about the second email is that it is a reminder that she needs to respond to you! I really doubt that she would be so mad that she would give you bad service... I'm sure that she's dealt with much pushier brides than you! Remember, you're the customer (and there's a tip in it for her if she does a good job - which I'm sure she's very aware of). You're bringing in a lot of business to their hotel and you deserve to be treated well... Good Luck! Let us know what happens.

I'm pretty sure it's their form of torture!I had emailed her asking her to make appts for us at the spa When I had my wedding this was done DIRECTLY with the spa! And well in advance of my wedding. They were booked... so I would e-mail them immediatly!, to change the DJ from 1 hour to 3 hours and I emailed her a bouquet picture and asked her how much it would cost (it's orchids so I wanted to know how much of a fortune it costs to get them before I commit) The Orchid bouquet that I wanted was $600. Not even kidding, it had MAYBE ten orchids in it the rest was roses and it was $600... so I would say pick another choice! Also, she said that I had to confirm my flowers (if I wanted orchids) 15 days before I arrived... because they had to be shipped to them. So that could be why you don't have an answer yet.. I just wish she would get back to me - especially so I know if I should be looking for different flowers or not.

The DJ must be paid IN CASH BEFORE the wedding... like at your meeting the days before. The flowers, private dinner, and spa are all paid upon check out and I used my credit card. There was no conversion fee and it turns out it was cheaper than I even expected.

We leave next Saturday (the 25th) - so 10 days! That's NUTS! Are you so excited? Who is your photographerhuh.gif? I forget. Should I wait for her to reply and resend the message and add Paloma in? I had the same thoughts about going above Yuritizia... of course lord knows she's a heck of a lot worse than Jazmin! However including Paloma did work... and I was also given a bunch of freebie additions to my wedding, and I honestly think it's because I was not happy prior to arriving. Who knows though.

I hope this helps!

I totally feel your frustration. It took them nearly two months just to confirm my date. So I actually called them, once I talked to them I had all the answers I needed. So you can either send another email and copy Paloma which is a good idea, or you can simply call her. You shouldn't feel timid, this is your wedding and you need answers. It's very frustrating, but unfortunately that's how they do things.

Good Luck!!!

10 DAYS!!! You must be so excited!!!! Can't wait to see pics.

Okay, so now I'm moving past getting worried to getting angry. They STILL haven't responded! I emailed Jazmin on the 8th, again on the 13th and then again on the 15th. When I emailed on the 15th, I cc'ed Paloma. I received read receipts back from both Jazmina and Paloma so I know I have their emails right. This is just getting ridiculous - it's been a week and a half!

And no one mentioned anything to me about flower 10 days in advance...or about spa appoints. rant.gif Errrr!!! Deep breaths.

Do you have the email of the spa? If they're already booked then I'm going to have an earful for Jazmin!

RyanAmanda, at this point, I'd start harassing them with phone calls! Well, not really harassing, but phone them! Just call the number on the website (52984 8755000). I think that you dial 011 52 to get Mexico from Canada. Ask to speak to Paloma. Thats what I did when I wanted to see if they had my date available and I spoke to Paloma's assistant. I called so many times until I finally got to speak to Paloma herself! And with regards to the spa, why don't you phone back after you've finished with Paloma and speak to the spa yourself?

Also, from what other people have said on here, they have thought that everything was disorganized, but everything turned out perfectly on their wedding day. Just remember, that is all they (Jazmin and Paloma) do. They make wedding days perfect!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
