We had open bar for 3 hours only and then had red and white wine....That was enough for us.

This thread is sooooo helpful! there are so many little things to get caught up in I wish i would have read it earlier!!!

I'm thinking about skipping the cake... every wedding i have ever been to i always miss that part, i don't think i have ever seen anyone cut the cake. except in the pictures post wedding. All these things add up and its nice to know what is absolutely necessary and what is not.

thanks ladies!

What I would do:

Have a Destination Wedding at the Moon Palace! Everyone said that we truly did get married in paradise and I totally agree - it was so beautiful and fun!

Buy the Dress of my Dreams. It took me a few tries but I finally got one that wasn't so beachy like I initially wanted. Don't settle on the dress!

Bring the IPOD. It worked perfect and the sound system was awesome - at a fraction of the price as the DJ!

Have a carriage take me to the chapel with my dad. It was a beautiful day and I had some time to recompose and get ready to be a bride!

Give out OOT Bags. The guests loved them and they all thought it was so thoughtful! I love seeing them carrying around the bags!

What I wouldn't do:

Get drunk at the reception. I was fine until the very end when everyone had mostly left but I felt bad b/c I just went back to the room and passed out when it was all over! Poor Aaron!!

Worry so much about my hairdo. It was so windy there and my hair was blowing everywhere!

I wish I would've kept a journal too!

Kashmira!!!! That dress is the most beautiful dress I've seen!! You should not regret that at all! It was gorgeous! If I thought it would fit up my thigh (and if you hadn't already sold it), I'd probably buy it from you! Seriously - it was gorgeous! Could you maybe negotiate a cheaper price with the other girl and have her give it back to you after she's finished? That way you could keep it?

i love her dress too. my girlfriend had the same one, it's a Monique Lhuillier Scarlet dress. I'm a monique fan also. mine is the Claire style. She makes the most amazing gowns...love, love and yes Kash looked fab in it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
