They only offer silver and gold foil for the cups so I think I might buy them and ship them to Emeline... our colors are red, orange, pink and yellow. But the truth is I love the way they've been done in that picture - would it be weird for me to have brown and pink cake? I'll have to go back to the website tammy posted and see what other colors they have...
You can always do whatever you want, but I think if your colors are those vibrant reds, oranges and pinks taht the brown and pink cake is a little muted.

It's been awhile. I thought we could touch base.

Anyone decided on food, music, etc in the past 6 weeks?

I was going to go with Sergio (photographer), who the Hilton recommends, but he is booked.

I don't know if I am going to be able to go down for a tasting which makes me really nervous. How do I plan the rest without seeing the space or tasting the food?

I booked my second site visit for the end of Febuary but haven't made anymore decisions. I feel like I need to get cracking to make the most of the trip while I am down there.

Does anyone have the menu options available that they could email me? I know I had them at one time but have moved and have no idea where they ended up. Emeline asked me to select 3 appetizers, 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 flavors for the cake to taste while I am down there. I am seriously considering doing with the cake and having a smore station instead. The cake is expencive and I think the kids at our wedding would have more fun making their desert. What do you think?

Has anyone gotten any quotes from the hilton for flowers or ceremony music yet? If so, please share so we can see if we are all getting quoted the same. I will do the same once I have something from them.

If there is anything you need me to check out while I am down there I will be happy to do so....I wouldn't stress too much - it is an amazing place and I am sure your wedding will end up perfect!

Hi Girls,

I am am getting very excited as our date is less than 3 months. I did pick all my food for my event but it was easy since we are doing the Mexican buffet, we will have tray passed hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail reception. We will also host a "welcome reception" the day before the wedding and we chose the "golf package" from the appetizer menu but made some changes. We didn't want a full dinner. We will also host drinks for the welcome dinner. For the wedding we will host open bar and will not do a cake. The dessert that is served with the buffet will come out later in the evening.

Music: I went through Hilton for guitarist (for ceremony), mariachis (for cocktail hour - which is 1 1/2 hour) and DJ for dinner/dancing. I did find that the mariachis were more expensive through Hilton but I do not have an outside coordinator so this was convenient for us. I actually met with the DJ back in October and we are okay with them too.

Flowers: this is another story....I was reccommended to Mazarte Floral and met with her in October also. I really liked her however her pricing was super high. I was quoted $280.00 for my bouquet and I just didn't want to pay that. Since flowers are not one of my top priorities I decided to look into The Flower Cart as someone on this board recommended. I have been corresponding with Francine and have recieved pricing that is much more reasonable. She quoted me $85.00 for my bouquet and $55.00 for my sister's. I didn't want anything too fancy just calla lilies for my bouquets and casa blanca lilies for my tables which I am ordering the by the "bunch" since I only need single stems for my tables. The correspondence is slow so I called Francine this week followed up by an email and have not heard back. I hope to have this booked/confirmed early next week. Oh...I will also order our bamboo canopy to stand at for our ceremony from The Flower Cart.

I actually just heard from Emeline regarding my details today but will not have confirmed numbers until March 2nd since my response cards are not due until then. I have sent out half my invites and the rest will be out by Monday.

I am a little disappointed at the moment...as I had wanted square tables of 8 and Emeline cannot find floor length white lienens for these tables so I may be to bring them from here if I can find them here...I just found this out today. I am now in search of these linens. My mom is making my napkins and table runners since I wanted olive green and that color was not available over there.

Talk to you all soon!

Very exciting! I'll be a wreck with 3 months to go. DId you find the Mexian buffet a good price per person? What dessert is coming with the buffet?

What type of tables does she offer? Have you tried renting the linens?

Thanks for all the details.

I have a question about the final menu selections.

I want to start designing my invitations and am wondering about the food.

I would like to give my guests options for their plated dinner; not everyone likes fish or steak and some people only eat chicken.

Anyway, so any of you ladies know if this count is something Emeline will want with the final count or can the guests decide day of during the cocktail hour or something?

Thanks.

If you are going with a plated meal I am sure she will want this info in advance - if you do a buffet you don't have to worry about it. I am leaning towards a plated dinner but haven't dived into the pricing yet...I will keep you all posted. If anyone has made their selections - let us know what you went with!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
