Attention Skinny Girls!

I am so late to this conversation but...

After we got engaged in April, I committed myself to do a sprint-triathlon in September. I know it sounds nuts and I have never done anything like it before, but I got a friend, her boyfriend and my FI to do it and it ended up being pretty fun!

I eat healthy most of the time, drink a ton of water and try to avoid elevators, but I am telling you that the 3-part work-out was the best thing I ever did for myself. Swimming is so awesome for your upper body!

For me it is best to have a goal when I exercise so getting myself on a training schedule was perfect. No matter what your body is like, you only need about 12-14 weeks to train for one of these.

In the end, I probably only lost about 2 pounds but all my clothes fit better and my body is firm.

My other piece of advice: Never, ever get on a scale. I have never owned one and I rarely use them. You will know by how you look, feel and fit in your clothes that you have lost weight.

I know this sounds extreme but I've started mylifestyle change with a colon cleanse fast (3 days). The solution included:

water, lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper!

So far so good lost 10lbs water wght! Now I am eating smaller portions, cut out white flour, most processed foods and sugars, NO SODA, and 30 min. of exercise

My goal is 20lbs as well!

OK, WOW!! How did that girl not eat any food for that long? That seems crazy! I've thought about doing a cleanse before, but didn't realize it was THAT involved. Plus, I actually have to leave the house everyday for work

Christa - I thought the SAME thing! Not only could I not imagine not eating food for that long (ignore the diabetic thing, how does ANYONE do that?!), but how do you live a normal life if you're tied down to the bathroom all the time. Not a pretty thought - but that pretty much sounds like what happens!

I am a skinny girl, but when I turned 35 I put on just enought to make my clothes not fit well. I tried everything it seemed & I couldnt lose more than a pound or two. (When you're already small its hard to lose anything at all) Im already a vegetarian & have been eating healthy for most of my adult life so dieting is really out. The only thing thats ever worked for me is running. I hate it but walking doesnt cut it. Once I stepped up to running things finally started changing. I have to tell you that I started very small-running 5 minutes, walking 5, running 5, walking 5. Im no marathon girl by any means. , but even just a short run 3x a week has finally helped. Ive never really seen an overweight runner- they always have the best physiques. Good luck, Im sure you'll look beautiful regardless!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
