if i were your sister i woulda made that wench open up the boxes. i would be irate, but i am so impressed with how calm you are being! glad you got your other dress so at least you have peace of mind now. do you have any photos of you in the mori lee dress?

Oh, and an update on dress #1 store. my sister went there to see if they were closed. The owner was there. She was totaly nonchalont about the whole thing and just kept saying "UPS didn't come yet today." Well... UPS came while my sister was standing there! They are on COD!!! (that's bad). And get this... three LARGE boxes (not sure what else they could have been besides dresses) were delivered... but she didn't pay for them and the guy loaded them back on the truck and left!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! My sister was standing right there! Crazy.
i'd get down there right away and demand your money. tell them face to face that you're calling the bbb and your cc company to dispute the charges if she doesn't give you an immediate cash refund - not cc b/c that may not work. if the phone is disconnected and they're not paying their cods then it's only a matter of time before they disappear for good.

but yay for buying dress #2!!!!!

Trish, I don't know how I missed this thread, but I agree with Lauren (and the other girls on here.) Get down there now and demand your money back. Be VERY FIRM with them. Do you want me to kick the owner's A$$ for youhuh.gif

Holy crap! I missed when this thread started. I am so happy you were able to get dress #2 in such short order.

 

I don't even know where I'd be if I were you with the shady salon. I know you are up to your ears with everything wedding related, but you've gotta turn these f-ers into the BBB. I would demand every cent refunded. What craziness!!

I am sooo glad that you were able to get the 2nd dress! And a free 2 nite honeymoon, I think that worked out very well.

 

Now its time to get in the other store's A$$. You should rally all of the troops & head down there & let them know that you want your money back. Also, definitely, definitely, definitely report them to BBB. Too bad we can't all take a trip & walk outside the store picketting with signs! Better yet, this would be a great story for your local news channel.

Wow, what a day you've had! I'm so happy you got your 2nd dress (and the 2 nights free!). I agree with what everyone else said, report them to the BBB, go down there and demand your $ back and maybe even call your local news to do an "investigational report".

omg, what a biotch! March your booty down there and get your money back! Seriously, I have no idea how you can remain so calm (besides the fact that you got your amazing dress on order from a MUCH better bridal salon!). This is beyond ridiculous.

 

On the bright side, when does your NEW dress come in??

The new dress comes in in two weeks. So, I'm still pushing it for alterations, but I am fine with it. I'm VERY excited.

What's the address of this shady bridal salon? I'm not saying I would do anything ... but if I had the address ....

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
