I didn't eat there, but I did order some chips and guac when I felt like passing out- too much sun, not enough food, and plenty of alcohol. :)

Anyways, keep in mind- public beach= pesky vendors. They were all up in our business.

Yari, I'm with you. Barcelona is way more than we want to spend. Plus we want something totally kick back and relaxed.

I think we might do Los Burros Bar. I'm waiting on a menu and info from them. But I love the SUPER casual look of it. I would think by evening there would be way less vendors on the beach. I'll just put the fear of god in one of them and I'm sure the rest will stay away rolleyes.gif

La Palapa. Joe and I sat down at this restaurant while we were in PV a couple years back. we didn't eat there becaue we couldn't find anything on the menu that we wanted. Granted we're picky eaters, but it was too modern/trendy of a menu for us. And the menu was pretty small if I remember correctly.

Rachel how funny you went there! I was there like 10 years ago. Good point about the privacy. When I was there it was sunset and a vendor walked up to the table we were eating at and offered to braid my hair. I said yes and they did it right there...lol It took a few hours but the Burros staff was really cool about it and they didn't make us leave.

Yay, glad I sort of helped you guys. If you're picky eaters this place will work for you (well if you like Mexican food..haha). I can't find the exact menu they sent me but I believe it was fajitas, chips, guac, etc. It's basic food, in fact I think all 3 menu options were fajitas lol. They were getting a little crazy with the price for toppings and we threatened to walk and suddenly they were free, so negotiate away. Sadly for them we walked anyway but it wasn't completely their fault.

Ha! I got the same email a few days ago. I was going to follow up today. I'll let you know if I get anything from them.

I LOVE the Burros Bar - it's our favorite place to grab a margarita and relax in the shade!!! It will be an awesome place for your welcome dinner!! I've only ever had margaritas and tortillas/salsa there -but everything was very good (excellent margaritas btw - lots of flavors!)

I will see if I can find any photos of the bar from our past trips - I'm sure I've got a few - I'll check when I get home!

Hi All,

Random question ladies: Have any of you done karaoke in PV? We're just wanting to do something fun with ONLY the wedding party on Friday since we're doing a welcome dinner for everyone coming to the wedding on Saturday and then of course, LC for the wedding on Sunday (in January)!

Just curious - I've searched a bit online but just wanted to see if any of you had done it.

:-) Heather

Ok so I need some help... When my FI and I booked Las Caletas we did it for ourselves because it was we want...We thought initially that the location along with it being a DW in Mexico would possibly cause our grandparents not to come.

I talked to my FMIL today and my mom and apparently all grandparents are working on getting passports and booking flights! Which (don't get me wrong) is great BUT having them come makes me concerned because both my grandma and FI's grandma do not get around too easily....the terrain at Las Caletas combined with the boat ride has me a bit frazzled today!!! They all know about the boat ride...my bigger concern is getting to the ceremony location at LC....

Does anyone have any insight for me on how some of your older guests did while at Las Caletas? I am sure it will be fine I just need some reassurance!!!! thanks!

I want to say that Rachel's grandma went and all was good. Check into the reviews, I know someone wrote something and it all worked out. Everything is going to be fine! That is awesome they are booking and getting their passports. You are very lucky!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
