FYI - they cannot get raffia fans down in LC. Well, they can but they have to get them from freakin' Guadalajara!!

I'm going with a fan more like this (which will fit much better in my suitcase!):

I found some like this at World Market for $3.99, but they are teal. Which would actually work out beautifully for me since my color scheme is fuschia, lime green, with a hint of teal. YAY! :)

I don't mean to sound tacky, but is it really necessary to tip Brad (or whoever the minister will be)?? I mean, Nicole & Kelley do a TON of work and we definitely plan to tip them as well as our budgets will allow (probably $150 for Nicole, $100 for Kelley), but Brad only comes into the picture at the very end. Does anyone know if he makes a decent paycheck off of these weddings? We are just really having to conserve money (like everyone else!) and are trying to think about all these little things that really start to add up. Originally we had thought a $50 tip for him, but is that really necessary? If a tip is necessary, do you think $20-25 would be OK?? I know tipping has already been discussed, but the economy is really changing.

Thanks girls...

P.S. Andi your wedding is in DAYS now! OMG I am so excited for you!!!! :)

He does a great job, but you know what, I didnt tip him at all. He left right after the ceremony and the photographers were all over me and DH and our wedding party, and by the time all that was done, I think he was gone. I didnt think about it again until this thread brought it up! I feel kind of bad. We tipped Nicole, my hair and makeup guys, and my photographers, but never did do anything for Brad.

We probably should have given him something. I am sure he gets paid by Vallarta Adventures, but something would have been nice of us!

Hello, welcome!

as far as getting married while in PV on a cruise, I haven't heard of anyone else doing that.

for times on weddings, most weddings are around 5/6 because they don't do weddings until after the tourists on the day trip leave LC. that time is sort of in between the day trip crowd and the rhythms of the night show crowd.

I think though it depends on the size of your wedding, Nicole (one of the coordinators there) told me that she has arranged a ceremony during the day, of course though it wasn't on the beach, because of the day trippers and was very small and intimate away from the tourists.

I do know though that they recently started doing weddings on sundays, they might be more flexible for wedding times on that day because there is not a day trip.

Long story short... wink.gif check with Nicole and/or Kelly they of course will know better...I am sure they could work something out for you! Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
