I didn't use this company myself (shipping to Canada was ridiculous), but there are some really cute designs that are fairly affordable:

Ours were from White Aisle. Impeccable service and great designs/quality. I was overly pleased:

We used Papel Vivo - Hand made Paper and Wedding Invitations: Index -the Costa Rica invite is our actual invitation that we designed with Melina. The invites were $7 or $8 each. With calligraphy and postage they came in around $10

Leia, have you ordered your invites yet? I love their designs! I'm just curious about their price range. what style did you choose?

I ordered mine already but haven't gotten them in the mail yet. Once I do, I'll post the pics. I got really simple ones b/c I'm on a budget (was actually going to go w/ Costco, but loved Erica's (cessyboston) STDs that I ordered my invitations from them. Each invitation cost $4.50 which included the invite, detail card, RSVP postcard, and the envelope.

I love them! I had them utilize my monogram from Creative Montage... For Today's Sophisticated Bride. I think I'm going to use them for all my wedding paper needs. I'm so not a DIY bride (wish I was...).

                    Have you tried theamericanwedding.com ?
Those are the least expensive I've seen so far. They have lots of flat cute, but simple invitations.
