what a crazy journey but you're a now married!!!! Congrats!!!

I hear you about flight issues to the east coast. Trying to figure out how to get Sean's family off PEI and to Mexico in January was A LOT harder than I anticipated! Also that suggestion about flying to Moncton and then driving to Newfoundland....I have no words to say just how ridiculous that suggestion was...

Oh my gosh, girlie! You poor thing. At least you're married!! How does it feel? That is definitely a funny story that won't matter in the long run - and at least you still have Punta Cana to savor - in clean clothes nonetheless :)

CONGRATULATIONS! I hope all is going well with planning otherwise!

It really seems like I have the worst luck doesn't it! nothing you can do but laugh...even when it was in the moment I want to laugh at the irony of it all but I had to muster up some tears to get taken seriously... after all what bride would be laughing! lol! My FI thought I was losing it I was half bawling and laughing!

Not sure if the marriage counts...I had been up for 36hrs when I signed the papers...not sure if I was of sound mind! lol! It does feel a little different even though we are both not calling ourselves married until Punta Cana. He does call me wifey every now and then tho and I like it :) I'm going to need everyone to cross their fingers and toes for me to get to Punta Cana without trouble I think! lol! Let hope my luggage makes it there!

We bought a dress bag to take to Mexico with us.  It was supposed to protect the dress.  The night before we left I had it all packed and ready to go until I realized that I would have wayyyy more street cred if the airline staff saw David's Bridal bag and the white and puffiness of the dress bag.  I didn't want to miss out on any extra perks and I knew that if they saw the dress I would be likely to get even better customer service!  They gave us a shout out on the plan and alcohol the whole way to Mexico. #StreetCred    yay  :)

ha great idea on the bag! Never even thought about it. just might ditch my whichacallit bag (you know, those black ones) in favor of a DB bag! Still have mine from 2011 but I'll tell you - it took a beating! lol Since my shoes are supposed to be ready this week I might buy one when I go in to pick them up!

@@Meandhim I just read your legal ceremony post and foremost, congratulations! Secondly, that's a crazy story but at least it makes it so memorable. You'll definitely have the most original story lol

I love your perseverance throughout it all and how you managed to keep relatively calm is beyond me. I definitely give you props, especially with the garment bag idea lol. I'm just glad that in the end it turned out well. Hopefully the airline hassles are done and you'll have smooth sailing (well flight) to Punta Cana :)

I was just saying to my bridesmaid that I feel like I should wear a Bride sash to the airport so I can get some special treatment! lol!

@@acw271011

Having the bag definitely helped at the airport!

Thank you! I hope I'm done with the travel trouble for good!

@@Wafflesmom

Thank you! It's definitely a story! I'm not sure if its the most original...but its mine...maybe the way I retracted is a little abnormal...

When uncontrollable things happen you have to move on...try to see the funny side, the Irony, whatever it is that you can use to turn it in to the stories that make up your life...it's always your choice if it is a positive story or a negative story...I'd rather look back and laugh. I will say its not always easy but it's always worth it.

I'm generally a calm person...I avoid confrontation like the plague, I find it's just not worth my time...I say god help the person that actually makes me mad enough to confront them! My FI is the hot head...he loses his SH*T over the most random things...so maybe that's why we are a good balance :)

@@Meandhim Love your thread! Your legal ceremony story sounds like something that would happen to me! Love how you never let it get you down and carried on! I would have been in tears and probably called it off! Love your persistence

Your FI sounds like mine! Definitely a good combination xx

You sound like my fiancé who's always the calm and logical one. He always says that there's no point stressing about something that has already happened and to just calmly find a solution. I'm more like your fiancé, I'm reactive and can be pretty bitchy lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
