I love it all too

Have you considered a statement necklace for yourself? My friend did it and it looked awesome. I considered one in fuchsia but had no luck

@TinkerSofi  Awww thanks!  You are so sweet.  Coral and gold are totally on trend right now...I swear I had no idea when I chose them.  lol  I was going to go the Tiffany blue route and silver but this really just felt more like the mood that I wanted.

@calgarybride2015  YES!  That's too bad that you weren't able to find a statement necklace.  I'm totally planning on doing what you suggested.  I was thinking of a small necklace for the ceremony or no necklace and then statement necklace for the reception.  :D   I just have to get my dress first....eek.

@kcole123  I'm so glad it's helpful to you!  Stay tuned my dress is next ! :)

xoxo

THE DRESS!!!

To be honest, the whole dress shopping process was a little difficult/sad for me.  My mother had passed away a few years ago and while I have grieved and gone through the healing process, I knew I would always be very sad about her absence if I ever were to get married.  I was never the kind of girl that thought about getting married, or envisioned what kind of dress I would wear so it was overwhelming to start looking.

I was engaged on Valentine's day 2014 and I didn't start looking for dresses until September.  My wedding is June 20th, and I suppose I'm cutting it pretty close.  I'm told that I have to order by this Monday. lol  So Monday it is!

Thankfully I have amazing friends, my sister and my Mother-in-law who have been nothing but supportive and have come with me to my appointments.  It certainly helped not feel as sad that mom isn't here for this epic occasion.

One of the dress fittings was just my sister and I, we walked in, saw the dress, I tried it on, and there were tears.  I was sooo sure it was the one.  I decided to think on it...I think it's the one.  For some reason I feel like I could find something better...I don't know if that's just normal and part of the process.

I will post a picture of my #1 choice and some of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th choices.  Any feedback would be welcomed.

Is it normal to feel like this unsure.  It's crazy!  lol  I do love my #1 but I still keep thinking about what else could be out there.

#1  Fit and Flare  (David's bridal)

#2 Ballroom gown (Kleinfelds's)

#3  A-line flare (david's bridal)

#4 Fit and Flare - cream (DB)

I'm sure it was tough to go without your mom. Moments like these are always tough, but I'm glad you had supportive people around you to help you out :)

I like dress #1 and #2 the best. I really like how the color of #2 looks on you. I think brighter whites look really nice on your skin tone. I also like a fit a flare with a belt like on #1. I keep going to #2 though so I guess that's my fave :)

Edit: in terms of feeling somewhat unsure of which one to pick and whether there's better ones out there I think it's totally normal. I felt like that for a couple of months and I think we always wonder whether we could find something better.

Now, if there's anything I learned on my psychology degree, after we make a choice our brains automatically extra convince themselves that we made the right choice. Basically you look at your choice under rose covered glasses :) hahah. So I think as long as you love your dress now, if you commit to it and don't keep shopping around you'll be happy with your choice.

It's normal for pretty much everyone to second guess their dress from time to time because there are so many choices! My best advice is to try and not think about "could I have gotten something better?", chances are that if you searched high and low forever yes, you will find something better, but what's the point? are you happy with your dress? Do you see yourself walking down the aisle with it feeling like a queen? that's all you need ;)

Lovely thread!

I also like dress #1 and 2 but it certainly is a choice you have to be comfortable with. As far as being unsure, I emphatically say YES IT IS NORMAL. It's a big decision so it is very normal to be hesitant to make a final decision. There are so many options out there too so I feel like if you keep looking you will always find something else that you like or could like. I think you have tried a good variety of styles of dresses so if you are leaning towards one dress, it's probably right! Good luck and can't wait to read  more xo

I can see why this is such a hard decision. I am partial to lace myself, and not too much poof, but having said that, I have to agree with the ladies above, there is something about #2 that I love on you! All of them are beautiful so whatever you choose will look great!!

As a side note, I also tried on #3 and it was my third choice. However, I knew I recognized it from some where and could not figure our how. I went back and tried on all 3 the next day and it hit me, one of my good friends chose that dress for her wedding!

All are beautiful, go with what you love!

@ I love everything you've done so far! You are so creative! I especially love that centerpiece with the shell. Looks tropical and classy :)

I love the coral bridesmaid's dress, especially with the jewels on the third pic. My colours are coral and grey!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
