I use Younique Fiber Lashes (which is a gel then green tea fiber) and LOVE them.  I got mine on ebay for about $20, and it's lasted me a long time.  I also don't use mascara daily as I work from home.

I will probably consider eyelash extensions, but am more interested in actual hair extensions for volume.  I have long but pretty thin hair.

It's sneaking up on me and I feel like I have so much left to do!  January/February is going to be PACKED!!

Hi ladies! I used to get lash extensions regularly. My natural lashes are short and regular mascara just wasn't giving me the length I wanted. I went to Noir Lash Lounge in Vancouver and they did an amazing job. They had different versions you could get, anywhere from full to just a few at the ends. I always went for the full lashes and it would last me 3 weeks and I would then get refills which were cheaper than getting new fills every month. I was really happy with them.

BUT after 8 months of continuous lash extensions, I decided to give my lashes a "break" and had them removed. I was left to little to no lashes! It took a long time for my lashes to grow back. It was not a pretty sight! I regretted it at that time but if you ladies are only going to get it done a couple of months before the wedding, it shouldn't be a problem. You should note that they do take getting used to since you can't rub your eyes, you must use a water-based eye makeup remover and you have to gently take your eye makeup off (qtips are good for this), you shoul avoid getting them wet in the shower (water pressure can affect the glue) and I think steam/saunas may affect them too (not sure on this one).

Like @marinah84, I have started using Younique 3D fiber lashes and they are great! Gives me the long lashes and they're natural. They don't put weight on my lashes so I don't have to worry about losing them again lol. Google it, it's awesome. It does take a bit to get used to or you could end up with clumpy or even worse, spider-leg looking lashes

The reason get I had them done for my cultural wedding was bc the fake lashes come off when I get teary-eyed.

@kcole123 I am planning on getting them done again but only for the wedding in Mexico. I don't want to keep refilling them due to the damage it does cause.

Hello ladies

I got them done about 3-4 weeks ago before we left for our wedding.  I did it a bit earlier to try them out, and then got them refilled the day before we left.  I'm glad I had them during the week because it made me look done up without having any eye make up on at the pool and beach - you get your pic taken a LOT. Esp for our TTD, I had no eye make up on otherwise because it would have run in the water, but I look awful without anything on my eyes.

I did end up putting eyelash strips on top of the extensions for my actual wedding day because I wanted more oomph still.  I'm not planning on getting them refilled now that it's all over and I'm wondering if I need to get them remove or just leave them to fall off naturally? Need to google. It's a bit too much work for me to keep up on a regular basis and I"m looking forward to being able to rub my eyes and shower/wash my face without worrying about them

Kristy - I wouldn't get them this far out because your eyelashes will dwindle.  If you do get them, just get them 3 weeks or so before and that should be plenty of time for you to get used to them.  And just get a refill before you go

@tygrrlily Thanks for these advice! Was it hard to take care of them between showering, swimming, washing your face, etc.? Basically I want to know if there's any way I can screw them up and end up looking awful on my wedding day

Good stuff to know for sure! I was thinking of getting extensions because I'm kind of allergic to the glue for fake eyelashes (nothing too extreme but they make my eyes really itchy). I didn't know extensions would leave you with almost no lashes after. Now thinking about it, I might just suck it up and go with fake eyelashes. I can always pull them off half way through the night and just wear mascara.

Eyelashes take a very long time to grow back and I'm not willing to sacrifice my nice natural lashes. I had this eye makeup remover that not only removed the make up, but also my lashes, and now, after almost 6 months they're finally getting back to normal.

Ugh, the price of beauty

@rachelia160 - Not really I'm just super lazy :P.  I didn't need to wear mascara with them which was great, but I do wear eyeliner and eyeshadow and I have to use a water based remover that I apply with one of those Sephora sample sticks.  I fully dunked my face in the water several times over the week and they were fine - a lost one here and there but not bad.  I still have a pretty full set a bit more than a week later after being in Cancun. I'm hoping because I only did it twice my natural eyelashes won't be TOO bad but we'll see when I get them off

Yes, be sure to let us know how your lashes look when you get them off!
