  1. @@ashhtayy - Best advice is just stay on top of her. I also found she'd reply a lot quicker when it was me directly contacting her about something for another guest Hopefully she has improved!
  2. Kristy, had to come and read your wedding review! Glad everything turned out so well, and you ended up saving money not having to extend or get the decorations! I haven't done photobooks yet - so lazy Haha and I obviously concur on everything about the TA - bleh. I listed her name as well though because I wanted to give local brides the head's up if they did a search
  3. Kristy, saw your pics on fb too! The pics are gorgeous - you look stunning and so happy . I love the pics of you jumping off the boat!! Looks like a ton of fun
  4. @@veryvalentine - Thank you! I liked incorporating that as well. Easy too when you only have 4 guest tables
  5. I went with Styling Trio and would 100% recommend them. I've gotten my makeup done a bunch of times (in Toronto) and it was by far the best makeup I've ever had. I looked like me but much better haha. They are definitely pricey but I have to say I thought they were worth every dollar. I had Adrian and Susie on my makeup and Esperanta on hair - all were wonderful You can see some pics and more commentary in my review #2 (see signature)
  6. @@snswedding2016 - I got mine done at Lust for lashes on Queen West. I had Michelle, the owner, do it. She did a great job but they are pricey
  7. Haha glad you like the eyelashes! I actually wore false ones on top of my extendions for more oomph for the wedding - I'm glad I did too. But for the rest of the week I just had the extensions and it was great to look "made up" around the beach, etc. An update for you - my lashes are fully back to normal about 3 months after. I would have loved to keep them as well but too costly and a bit too high maintenance for me. I like being able to rub my eyes . But I definitely can't leave the house without some eye makeup now like before and I miss how I looked with them
  8. @@Wafflesmom - I'll definitely keep it if no one else wants it. Every time I try it on with different outfits, it still looks really Ballerina-y / Princess-y to me - I think b/c of the colour and b/c it's really poufy. Maybe I need to find the right thing to pair it with still. I kind of wish I had gotten a dove grey or mint green one instead - I think it'd be more versatile
  9. @@smileitseb - thanks! I designed it myself and had them printed double sided on Vistaprint. They turned out great
  10. Ah bad timing! I was going through my closet yesterday and decided to post it I think we have the exact same taste
  11. Hello ladies, I bought this Space 46 Blush Pink 25" length tulle skirt a few months ago to wear for my bridal shower, but I miscalculated the shipping time and it came too late . So now I'm married and have no occasion to wear this tulle skirt without looking like a ballerina haha . It's just sitting in my closet now so thought I'd post it and see if anyone wants one for engagement pics, bridal shower, etc. It's completely brand new - I've only tried it on. It's the Space 46 one bought online from Adorn Calgary. I paid $132 CDN after taxes + shipping and it's just hanging in my closet right now. I'd like to get $75 for it plus the actual cost of shipping to you or pick up in Toronto. Length is 25" (falls right below the knee) and is size XL in their sizing but about an M to a small L in regular sizing - This is from their website about the measurement: Size XL - Waist 30.5" (15.25" across laying flat), equivalent to US 6-8. This is the exact skirt w/ more details: http://space46boutique.com/collections/womens/products/the-wendy-blush-25-length Or: http://adornboutique.ca/products/tulle-skirt
  12. @@calgarybride2015 - haha no. He was busting out a lot of moves that nights. He ripped his pants doing this Russian dance he does - imagine deep squats with the legs kicking out haha
  13. @ - Great! It's LONG - like one hour!! We weren't expecting it to be that long haha. It was nice to look back but weird/awkward at times (hate seeing myself on film). Overall though we're happy. Matias did a good job and captured all of the key moments and transitioned them nicely. It really is a capture of our wedding day. I do wish I had booked him for longer - our party got a lot crazier/drunker when the video + photographer left haha - but I think that's pretty normal
  14. Thanks ladies!! Matias did a great job and is super nice and easy to work with - would definitely recommend him @@Meandhim - We looked at Coresfilms when we were considered Punta Cana - they do beautiful videos!
  15. @@Meandhim - Thank you! I did choose the song . I wanted this as my wedding highlight video since seeing it in 500 days of Summer - I don't even think we'd met yet but I knew haha Matias is pretty affordable as a videographer - most of the other ones I found were more. We paid for 9 hours of coverage but he does have cheaper packages w/ fewer hours if you don't want them there for the whole time We LOVE our video. It's so nice to go back and be able to relive it all. We chose all of the songs in our video too and a lot are ones from our actual wedding, so it definitely brings back a lot of memories
  16. Hello ladies! We got our wedding video finally! It took Mattias a bit longer than expected because he was so busy, but we are very pleased w/ the final project. Mattias is super nice and fixed up some things we requested w/o hesitation. Our final video is about 1 hour long and has our whole ceremony and all of the speeches! Didn't expect something so comprehensive, but it was really amazing to look back and relive the day. I'm so glad we splurged and got the video. Our pics are amazing too but to actually be able to go back and relive all of those moments - truly priceless. I actually wish we had kept him for longer to get more dancing shots and us jumping in the pool at the end of the night, but that would have cost way too much haha Here is our highlight video if you want to see an under 4 minute version - I think I've watched it oh at least 20 times now https://vimeo.com/122755657
  17. @@Trex - I'm glad you are having a better experience using Vanessa as your TA. You are certainly entitled to your opinion - as am I, particularly in my own review thread . Unfortunately based on my own personal experience using Vanessa, I cannot in good conscience recommend her to the brides here at all. People are of course able to and will use whomever they want - I can only write about my own personal experiences. I stand by my opinion that she was a terrible agent and was one of the worst parts of our wedding planning. We worked with a lot of vendors for our wedding and she was by far one of the worst people we dealt with. I think I gave a fair assessment of her services. I do hope that she DID improve and I do hope that she can learn to be consistent with her service and that other brides won't have to deal with the same stress that we did. Good luck with all of your planning. We had a fantastic time at BP and I hope that you do as well
  18. @@acw271011 - Haha it's also from Family Guy I've just been told - that makes more sense for him
  19. @@acw271011 - Haha my DH says "pow right in the kisser to me" all the time while pretending to punch me. He thinks he's being hilarious @@kcole123 - I would probably just find some watches online to show him in the price point, ask him casually what he thought and if he liked them, then order them. My DH was pretty agreeable on everything but not if it meant he had to put in effort to go shopping or get things himself (lazy). So for the most part I'd just show him things and he'd be like "yeah, great." Then when the credit card bill came, I just reminded him that he had agreed haha We got our groomsmen Herschel gym bags (ravine duffel). They were pretty cool looking and we got them at a discount on black friday. My DH got himself one too b/c he liked it so much
  20. @@FutureMrsGarcia - it's not official. I actually asked Marco specifically about it and he had to ask the Palace member team if it was free. We were really lucky that they let us use it. Not sure if other brides have asked about this or not, but it was a great back up room. We had just under 50 people and that was perfect. Not sure if they would have been able to comfortably fit more guest tables The ballroom is really really awful. Draping and lighting would make it a lot nicer but not sure if you can just reserve those without paying.
  21. @@linaco80 - We had a few crack but we were pretty lazy w/ our packing. We packed the lids and straws separately then placed the cups 1 in each other and then just placed some bubble wrap around them. Most were fine but we did have a couple crack - luckily we brought a few extras
