Congrats! @@DawnBP what do you have planned so far? How many guests are you expecting? I'm not familiar with the resort but I can share some ideas with you. (: I too am running out of time lol, my wedding is September 23rd! At the Now Jade IN Riviera Maya! So far the menu is set, 14 guests are booked, our max is 25 bc there's too many fees for anymore than that. This week I have to schedule my hair & makeup appt with the resort spa. Still unsure of how I'm doing my hair.. I ordered paper lanterns for the reception, customized cocktail napkins and straws for the cocktail party, and disposable cameras for guests to use for the duration of their stay. Think we're skipping favors and OOT bags. We have to get our play list set since we've decided to have an ipod wedding rather than pay for a dj! Did you get your dress yet? Mines currently being altered along with the bridesmaid dresses. Ahhhh we got engaged the 20th of October 2013 and decided to get married in less than a year. Whyyyy I don't know.. lol ♡

Thank you so much!  We only booked it in February so the countdown has been quite short from the start but already we are less than 4 months and I am starting to panic  I'm looking forward to counting down with all you lovely ladies :)

Ok will give you a run down of the current plans....just bear with me :)

Congratulations!!! Everything will fall into place! This forum is great for ideas and reviews!! You'll be surprised how much you can get done in a short space of time, we got a huge chunk of planning done in a matter of weeks, so now all we've got to do is the invites, legal documents, and some other small details.... good luck, and have fun planning :-) :-)

So we have been together for 6 years, engaged for 5 and due to coming into a little extra money we decided to get married while we had the chance, hence the quick timeframe and wanting to get married ASAP as it’s been a long time coming 

Booked it in February and chose October 1st as it’s our 6 year anniversary and we wanted a date that meant something but not your typical Valentine’s day or anything like that.

So there is 10 of us in total, small and intimate is just what we wanted, basically our parents and siblings. Me, hubby to be, my Mum and Dad are flying out Wed 24th Sep for 14 nights, so we have a full week either side of the wedding. Our remaining 6 family/guest fly out Saturday 27th for 7 nights.

We have chosen the beach gazebo, we get married at 5pm so it’s a little less crowded and not mid day heat, followed by a private meal for all 10 on the beach with a private bar and musician (Saxaphone) – we have picked our menu (Fish starter, surf and turn main, chocolate for dessert and then coffee) and that’s about as much as we have planned  not a lot I know.

Given that there is only 10 of us though, there isn’t much to organise really as I am guessing we will only have 1 table for all 10 or 2 tables of 5, I have started drafting an email today to the wedding co-ordinator to start finalising things. I need to find out what the plan b will be if it rains, the wedding co-ordinator on site is apparently AMAZING, however they don’t really allow to work with her until you arrive on re-sort which is a bit annoying.

Yes I have my dress, it has taken 6 months to make and I had my first fitting last weekend, my dress was made to measure but I am a little on the plump/curvy side so have been on a diet and exercise since January 5th and I have lost 35 pounds ( 2 and half stone) and my dress was HUGE, so given it was made to measure I am thrilled!!! Because I want to keep losing weight they have told me that we can leave off the final measurements until August 9th so I have 9 weeks to give it my all and hopefully shift a lot more pounds and keep fit and healthy.

The boys are wearing chino shorts and shirts, my Fiance is wearing light blue/teal shorts with a white shirt and teal tie, he wants the other men is cream shorts with white shirt and teal tie.

We are also having an ipod system, no need for a party with DJ with only 10 of us, we just want to relax and enjoy the beach for the evening so we thought the ipod system would work great but again we need to sorting out a play list.

I thought oh this is great not much to organise it will be a breeze but now we are so close I was like OH OK WE HAVE EVERYTHING to do haha!

So that’s where we are at, starting from today we should be making progress!!!

Keep you all posted ladies xx

Hi Stefadile - oh that's good to know, I kind of feel I have been a bit too laid back but given how small the wedding is, I think as you say, we should be able to get a lot finalised in a matter of weeks :)

A few people said they actually change their minds on a lot of things once they met Claribel on the resort as she is brill and just knows what works best for all situations :)

When do you get married? x

Wow DawnBP sounds like you're all set to go!!! Has your hubbie to be got his suit yet? I know that next and Zara are doing Linen trousers and shorts... we're getting my fiancé's stuff there...

Congrats on the weight loss, that's an amazing achievement!!!!keep up the good work!! :-)

my dress is in the process of getting made, I won't get it finished until just before I go too, the dressmaker insisted on this, she said my weight will prob fluctuate... I'm hoping down , rather than up !:-P

We're getting married the 30th December, in Jamaica.

You'll be surprised how much you'll change your mind as time goes on... I have already( think that's the problem with starting planning too early!) :-) :-) good luck with the rest of the planning, keep me posted!! :-)

No he hasn't got anything yet, we have seen the chino shorts on Next website and only £16 so think this weekend coming we are going to go and try them on and see what colours work best, he really wants to wear a waistcoat still with a shirt and tie but I really have no idea what colour waistcoat would work?

These are the shorts, he wants to wear a white shirt and teal tie, all the men will have white shirts and teal ties but only Dave will have a waistcoat and a different colour shorts.

Will have a look at Zara - thank you :)

I think I am just stressing because they said final payment is 45 days before so I am guessing we need to have everything decided on by them but reading a few posts on here a few girls said they changed a lot of things once they got to resort and some saying they didn't actually pay final amount till 1 week before so I really need to speak to Laura about it all :)

I am sure your weight will be fine :)  sounds like its all under control!  Have you decided on most things or still a lot left to think about? x

I'd say you can probably change your mind as you go along, at the end f the day, they are there to make your day as special as possible, I'd talk to the coordinator about it, I'd say it happens all the time! We have to pay our balance 30 days before hand, but I guess if we want anything changed, it should probably be ok.... must check with our hotel....

What about a blue waistcoat? To match the shorts? Or white? I

I have most stuff decided on, just a matter of pulling it all together really, I've left a lot of the planning to my fiancé's mum, she lives out in Jamaica. So she's been doing a good bit of the work for us! Its been hard, because I love having control of plans... :-D

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
