I am in the early stages and a pretty laidback person so I don't think I'd care as long as she doesn't think they will be guests of the wedding. I only plan on having wedding events the day of....sure we will all hang out and stuff at the resort but I feel everyone is going to be making this their vacation too so why not combine it with a girls getaway too....maybe I'm just too laid back lol

    I agree here.
Getting away is hard and pricey enough that some people combine it ...
As long as their friends don't interfere with your event then it should be ok.
You are going to be so busy with your own thing that you won't even notice.

We discussed this after it was brought up (I told my FI about this thread and that it COULD happen to us too)... He thought it was only fair that the groomsman could bring his GF and felt like it wasn't a huge deal that others were coming to same resort over the same time... Which got me thinking how id handle it.. For me it wouldnt be worth causing hurt feelings and broken relationships over $40-$50 for the cost of a private event with an extra person thrown into the mix... My FI actually said, "don't we get credit for one person every 12? So that's like $200 we make toward the wedding if any extras show up! Lol...

At the end of the day, I want everyone to have a blast and be surrounded by positive energy and love,,, if there are people there who mean something to one of my guests enough to want to share their holiday... I will introduce myself and hope they are as happy for us as others attending the wedding.

Hey girls Definately think that an invited guest can bring a guest just like any other wedding but pretty funny if they bring let's say... 5! Lol I have a guest who asked if she could bring her daughter I said absolutely ! But again a wedding at home is still the same as a wedding on the beach whoever is invited has to RSVP and hopefully not bring 10 guests along with them hahahah

To each her own, I guess.... I wouldn't be offended at all. We had several guests at our wedding who asked to bring friends and I had no issues with it. We welcomed them with open arms and they felt like part of the family by the end of the trip! Why stress about the little things? I just wanted my guests to have fun, so if they needed a travel partner then so be it!

That being said, I can't imagine this group of friends from the original post assume that they're invited to the wedding events. Might be a good idea to chat it out with your friend before you lose your mind over something you heard word of mouth.

      Hi girls!!!

Thanks for all your responses. I've had time to think it through and although it kinda still bothers me I'm over it.

Just as @BusyBee280 said everyone is different and not everyone will see why it's rude. The girl that invited her friends is not traveling alone. Her significant other, her 2 sisters and some of her family members are coming to the wedding because they were invited by me. I just didn't understand what the point of inviting more people was. I have never met these people which makes it a bit awkward. @khmciver you are exactly right, I don't want to seem like a mean bride, I've been far from that and have not been a bridezilla throughout my planning and don't plan on becoming one 2 months before my wedding LOL. I just hope she knows they won't be included in the wedding events.

@LoriGran Would the extra guests cost you? I don't get any perks like @kmk2016 was talking about. :(

We have a welcome party, the wedding, dinner reception, a private beach bash, and a brunch planned for our guests. Plus OOT bags. So it would cost us about $100 per person for the uninvited extras...
