I am having a hard time deciding on a resort!  I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing how much their guest stayed and how many nights they stayed?

We won't have more than 20 people, but I would like to make it as affordable as possible for guests without sacrificing on quality of the resort too much.

Thanks!

I'm getting married October 7th 2015 at Azul fives and our guests ( small group of 17) are paying 1550 for double occupancy in the deluxe room for 7 nights. We are flying out of Toronto and Montreal.

Hope this helps :)

Ladies, wanted to let you know that we have a pretty lively facebook group as well called azul fives hotel brides. For me its much better, its just sooo much easier to post and read messages on there, so if you havent joined it yet, go and join!

Even though i use both, I actually like it here better. it's harder to find the information on Facebook, which means people ask the same questions over and over. I find the forums are better organized. One thing I do like better, it's easier to see the pictures that people post. Maybe as a suggestion to make the forums better, it would be nice if there was a tab where we could see all the pictures that have been posted on that thread and navigate through them, rather than having to go back through each page.

Just as a friendly FYI, you could get kicked out from the site by advertising other sites on here which are basically competing with this forum. I just don't want to see you get in trouble!

Your wedding looked absolutely beautiful ! Im so glad to hear how positive I've your experience was. :)

I wanted to ask you about your Make up - would you reccommend the resort make up artists? Did you do a trial before ?

I also wanted to ask if you got your flowers from Lomas ? Prices seem steep so I'm debating about bringing silk bouquets .

We're set for October 20th, 2015 but we're a really small group so don't qualify for a group rate. I'm figuring probably about $1300 only because we'll be able to book closer to last minute. it's the only way they'll let us do it. Our TA says not to even look at prices until about June or July. it would be so great if we could qualify for a group rate.... but I doubt that will happen lol We're going to be a mix of departures: Toronto, Vancouver and the UK

Thanks!! It really was such a great wedding!!!

I got my make-up done at the hotel. Flor did my make-up. I did do a trial with her, which I highly suggest. Their make up artists were really good and I'm super high maintenance about my make-up. They did my bridesmaids make-up too. Well most of them. I'd recommend them though!

I did get my flowers from Lomas. I probably could have bought a very nice car with what I paid for all of my flowers. I would totally do silk flowers. No one would notice the difference!!

@ Thanks for the tips. I'm picky about make up too so I considered doing my own or having my sister do it but then again I'm thinking it's my special day and I want to feel pampered So it might be worth the splurge to opt for the airbrush. Do you remember what brand of products they use ?

I've booked Styling Trio for our renewal. I love everything I've read about them - all good, and they have a great website. I'm definitely going for the airbrush. They use Mac products. I guess they're good, right? lol It's just my daughter in law and I so it will be fun just the two of us.

I looked at your pictures and they're stunning! The Sky Desk looks so cool! I love what you did with your colours too. It went together beautifully!

Ok Azul Fives ladies. Has anyone had Ashley as their design person? There isn't really much I'm going to bother with. We're only doing our ceremony at the resort, then we're going off site. But I'm thinking maybe a little bit of decoration on the Zky Terrace. I just don't know why. We can't take it with us elsewhere so I'm still undecided.

@@acw271011 - I keep seeing you refer to the Zky Terrace - I just want to confirm you mean the terrace outside the Zky bar?  I didn't realize you could book that.  It's not on my Ceremony or Reception lists.

Yes - that's the one. How big is your group? It might be that your group is too large for that area? I know it's a smaller space and we're only going to be about 8. Just like the pier is a max of 32.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
